Water Park Lifeguard Training Course
This American Red Cross course certifies participants in lifeguard training, water park lifeguard training, first aid, and CPR for the professional rescuer. The purpose of this course is to teach participants the knowledge and skills needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies in pools and water parks. Pre-requisites are required and will be conducted on the first day of class. Participants unable to complete the pre-requisites may request a refund, minus a $50 administrative fee. A lunch break will be provided. There is a required $35 certification fee, payable on the American Red Cross. Participants will be required to pay on the American Red Cross website. Blue Fin Swim Team Clinics
These clinics will provide technical instruction in all four competitive strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly) plus starts, turns, and finishes. The primary emphasis will be to learn to swim the strokes properly and efficiently. Some interval training will be offered to maintain an aerobic endurance base. This is an ideal clinic for those planning on swimming competitively in the summer. The last day of registration for all sessions is the Thursday prior to the session start date. Pre-requisites: Ages 6-10 years must be able to swim one length of the pool (25 Yards) unassisted; Ages 11-adult must be able to swim two lengths of the pool unassisted. Private Swim Lessons
Private Swim Lessons are 30 minutes in length, and are available for all skill levels and ages (three to adult). Classes are held outside of normal group lesson times and are scheduled between the student and aquatic staff. Fees Private Semi-Private (min 2/max 3)+
8 Lessons $158/$174 $126/$139 per student +Patron is responsible for arranging semi-private participants.
American Red Cross Babysitting & CPR
This class will teach students the skills needed to become a responsible babysitter. Everyone will receive a Babysitter’s Training Handbook, learn how to care for children and infants, be a good leader and role model, make good decisions, and solve problems. Child/infant CPR certification will take place at every class. Please bring a lunch. Preregistration is required. Ages: 11-15 years Location: CAC Pecan Room Instructor: Recreation Staff Min/Max: 5/20
