MISSION STATEMENT

The Flower Mound Senior Center dignifies seniors with a safe and caring environment, creative and inclusive programs, and thoughtful resources that promote health, well-being, fellowship, and involvement.

MEMBERSHIP SIM Memberships that were current at the time of closure have been adjusted and extended for the time the facility was closed. If you think your membership is due for renewal, please call the Senior Center Courtesy Desk. Memberships purchased during the closure will expire on the year mark. If you joined the Senior Center during the closure and did not purchase a membership, please purchase a membership at this time.

LUNCH PROGRAMS MMOW LUNCH PROGRAM TUESDAY & THURSDAY AT NOON $4 PER PERSON Seniors In Motion members are able to purchase and pick-up bi-weekly lunches on Tuesdays and Thursdays after 12 p.m. at the Senior Center. Lunches will be provided by local restaurants and can be purchased for $4 each. SIM members who would like to reserve a lunch can call 972.874.6110 or register online. Beginning April 1, a current SIM Membership is required to reserve a lunch. On meal days, members should drive to the Senior Center and pull up in line following the cones. A staff member will confirm your name on the list and provide you a meal.

REGISTRATION: Members are asked to register for all classes, programs, and activities at this time. Members may register at the Community Activity Center, by phone, or online at https://activenet.active.com/ flowermoundparksandrec. Registration order will be on a firstcome, first-served basis. Payment for programs are due at the time of registration and can be made with cash, check, or credit card. During the phased reopening, all programs will be limited to the given room capacity to ensure safe social distancing. *Codes correspond with online registration numbers. Use the 5-digit code to search for the program at https://activenet.active. com/flowermoundparksandrec.

APPOINTMENTS: The fitness room, billiards room, and computer room are currently for use by appointment only to ensure safe social distancing. Reserving an appointment: • Speak with a Recreation Specialist either in-person or over the phone to request a time slot. • You must have a time slot confirmed with a live person. You may not email or leave a voicemail. • Time slots are available at the top of every hour from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and are limited to 45 minutes. • Reservations are available one week in advance.

Increase muscular strength, endurance, range of movement, flexibility, balance, agility, and coordination. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance. A chair is used for seated and/or standing support.

Pilates focuses on strengthening your CORE & improving your posture. Barre work uses basic ballet moves for both arms & legs to improve muscle, tone, and balance. Pound It Out is an exercise format that combines weighted drumsticks with lower body dance steps to create a workout for the upper and lower body. It can be done seated or standing and is a fun cardiovascular workout.
