LUNCH PROGRAM

MISSION STATEMENT

The Flower Mound Senior Center dignifies seniors with a safe and caring environment, creative and inclusive programs, and thoughtful resources that promote health, well-being, fellowship, and involvment.

On meal days, members should drive to the Senior Center and pull up in line following the cones. A staff member will confirm your name on the list and give you a meal. Please do not get out of your car or come into the Senior Center. This procedure will be in place for all Tuesday and Thursday lunches until further notice.


MAY - PHASE 1 REGISTRATION: Members are asked to register for special events and trips. Members may register starting at 9 a.m. at the Flower Mound Senior Center, at the Community Activity Center, or online at https://activenet.active. com/flowermoundparksandrec. ART IN THE PARK FESTIVAL SATURDAY, MAY 8 • 10 A.M. • FREE HERITAGE PARK Celebrate art at the inaugural Art in the Park Festival at Heritage Park. The festival will feature live performances, local artwork, a special art treasure hunt, hands-on activities, a community mural, and much more! Many of the activities and booths will focus on ways to utilize recycled and repurposed materials to create unique works of art. However, artists that work in all mediums are invited to apply to be a vendor. To exhibit your artwork during the event, please fill out a vendor application form found at www.flowermound.com/artfestival. Vendors can rent booth space beginning at $50. ZUMBA INSTRUCTOR - JILL Zumba is a fun, dance-based workout that will increase your heart rate and improve your balance! BALANCE, STRENGTH & STRETCH INSTRUCTOR - JODY This workout focuses on the basic muscle group to increase strength. It includes gentle stretches also improve flexibility, movement, and balance.

YOGA INSTRUCTOR - JODY This gentle yoga class will help increase flexibility, balance, and strength. SIT, STAND, & DANCE INSTRUCTOR - VOLUNTEER This fun, chair-based exercise class is great for all fitness levels. This fun workout includes stretching, cardio, and weight training.

TONE & CONDITION *NEW* INSTRUCTOR - MARGO Increase muscular strength, endurance, range of movement, flexibility, balance, agility, and coordination. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance. A chair is used for seated and/or standing support. PILATES BARRE *NEW* INSTRUCTOR - JODY Pilates focuses on strengthening your CORE & improving your posture. Barre work uses basic ballet moves for both arms & legs to improve muscle tone and balance. Put together, you get the best of both while standing up holding onto a barre or when needed, a chair to support you in a specific core move. Designed for the beginner, so come join us! POUND IT OUT *NEW* INSTRUCTOR - MARGO Pound It Out is an exercise format that combines weighted drumsticks with lower body dance steps to create a workout for the upper and lower body. It can be done seated or standing and is a fun cardiovascular workout. TAILS & TRAILS *NEW* Bring your furry friend to meet with SIM friends for fun and fitness. Take a midmorning stroll on the trail behind the Senior Center and West Windsor Park. Please make sure your pet is on a leash and you bring bags for waste. CHAIR VOLLEYBALL *NEW* Chair volleyball is fun and fitness combined! Join SIM friends to play this game where participants hit a ball over a volleyball net while remaining seated at all times. It is harder than you think! TAI CHI INSTRUCTOR - SUSAN With three levels of Tai Chi, you will learn the restorative powers of Tai Chi for the mind and body.
