SOCIAL ACTIVITIES

AQUA Mondays at 10:40am (June 6, 13, 20 & 27) Wednesdays at 10:15am (June 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29) Fridays at 10am (June 3, 9, 16, 23 & 30) This Flowers aqua fitness class is a non-impact activity designed to eliminate stress to the joints. It offers a swimming blend of cardio and resistance training focusing on increasing muscular endurance, range of motion, flexibility, and mobility.

PICKLEBALL Wednesdays (June 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29) • 10am until 11am Pineville Club Tennis Courts • FREE Engage with others in the community with Pickleball. This is a court game that is a cross between tennis, badminton and table tennis using a whiffle ball. BEGINNERS PILATES Wednesdays at 10:20am (June 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29) This slow paced and low impact Pilates class is designed to center breathing and control, align the body core, and promote balance. Instrumental mat exercises are also introduced. All Pilates exercises enhance overall vitality and health.

CHAIR AEROBICS Mondays at 10:10am (June 6, 13, 20 & 27) Get your heart pumping and oxygen flowing in this seated Chair Aerobics class. This class benefits the most important muscle in your body, the heart, with a low intensity pace and set time for keeping your heart rate elevated.

STRETCH 55+ Fridays at 9:30am (June 3, 9, 16, 23 & 30) Increase your flexibility, strengthen your muscles, increase your endurance and tone your body with the 55+ Senior Stretch and Tone Class. The use of bands, chairs and small balls will also enhance balance and keep you in shape!

SUNSET YOGA Thursdays at 7:00pm (June 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30) Enjoy the relaxing sunset on the Flowers Plantation upper deck with the 55+ Sunset Yoga class. Using Yoga mats, you will work on postures through sitting and lying in Yin Yoga positions.

This specific workout encourages mindful, calm and peaceful athleticism while increasing flexibility and strengthening joints. A class you don’t want to miss!

WATER WALKING Thursdays at 9:30am (June 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30) Water Walking is a non-instructor pool workout. It provides the opportunity to get the level of workout you choose and at the pace you feel comfortable. This activity increases range of motion and no stress on your joints.

AQUA ZUMBA Thursdays at 10:15am (June 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30) Add some splash to your Zumba with the 55+ Aqua Zumba class. This is a low impact, high-energy workout aimed at toning your muscles through the natural resistance of the water.

ZUMBA TONING Wednesdays at 5:30pm (June 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29) If you want to focus on conditioning your muscles with light weight activity, the Zumba Toning is for you! This workout uses lightweight toning sticks and/or dumbbells to help prevent reduction in muscle mass and muscle strength while providing sculpt and tone to your body!

Before and After School Care Program begins Aug. 29th and runs through June 8th, 2017. This program cost $200 per month with a $25 initiation fee and is for children attending River Dell Elementary ONLY in grades K through 5th. Please register online or at the front desk. This workout is an excellent non-impact way to build strength, reduce body fat, and increase flexibility. Due to the constant resistance provided by the water all around you, virtually everything you do while you are in the water can be considered a fitness activity.

Beginners’ Pilates is an entry level class in Pilates reviewing basic introductory principles, alignment, breath and control a well as all of the beginning mat exercises.

Stretch 55 plus is composed of gentle stretching exercises using bands, chairs, and small balls.

Sunset Yoga is outside on the upper deck when weather permits. Postures are done sitting or lying on the mat and each gentle pose is held for three to five minutes. Yin Yoga increases flexibility while strengthening the joints. Yin encourages a mindful, calm and peaceful practice. No previous yoga experience needed for this class!
