Sprout 5
Help plant the seeds for green change.
Sprout sells pencils. But, these aren’t your average, ordinary pencils. Oh no, these are pencils that can be planted. It’s time to be inspired to spread a green message with your promotional pencil!
Their story
Back in 2013, a group of robotics students at MIT were given the task of designing the office of the future.
They chose to focus on pencils - an item all offices were well acquainted with. The team ended up developing the very first Sprout pencil (as it would later be known) - a pencil with a seed capsule on the end of it.
The idea behind the product was when the user was done with their pencil, it could be planted. No waste. No fuss. Just, plants. They presented the project on Kickstarter, where Michael Stausholm discovered it. He was instantly impressed with it and the potential the project offered, so he bought the rights to sell the pencil in Europe and founded Sprout World.
Their mission
Sprout continues to encourage sustainability in small daily actions and to encourage everyone to #letsmaketheworldSprout. As Michael Stausholm, Sprout’s CEO, states:
“We want to make sustainable actions manageable and tangible for everyone.”
