1. Where you born and where you live? I was born and live in the city of Vigo (Spain), a city that I love.
2. Which came first: the passion for painting or the passion for miniatures? Both. My passion is painting miniatures. 3. Do you have some kind of study on art? I have not study on art, I learned all by myself, it was a hard work. I started painting when I was 18 years old.
4. How long time you are a full time miniature painter and for who did you work? I started working as a professional painter when I was 20. I work full time in Corvus Belli (Infinity) (8 hours each day) and in my free time I created Studio Giraldez to work for other companies so usually I paint between 8-12 hours each day. With Studio Giraldez I worked for many companies: On Spain: Avatars of War, Draconia, Spherewars, Arcana Miniatures, Tercios Creativos, Euphoria Miniatures, Zenit Miniatures, Vepa Miniatures and GameZone Miniatures.
On UK: Urban Mammoth, Otherworld miniatures, Antenociti’s Workshop, Joek Minis, Maelstrom Games, Statuesque Miniatures and Studio Mcvey.
On France: Consortium, Kraken Edition (only cooperation), Smart Marx (Smog), Fenryll, Predastore, Anastyr (Paolo Parente), Ranging Heroes and Taban Miniatures (Eden .
On USA: Privater Press, Mercs Miniatures, Cipher Studio (Anima Tactics and Hell Dorado), Chapterhouse Studios and Red Box Games. On others as RAFM and Dream Pod 9 (Canada), Kabuki Models (Italy) and Freebooter Miniatures (Germany)
During the 2007-2011 was a period of hard work even working weekends but in late 2011 I decided to reduce my work for other companies to take more time.
For 2014 I will be exclusive painter of Corvus Belli (Infinity) so I’m not going to paint more for other companies, but during 2014 you can see some paintjobs that I painted in 2013 for Hell Dorado, Anima Tactics and Sedetion War.
5. Did you research for choose your colors? Where are good places to learn color composition? For the color scheme I work with 2 artists in the Infinity studio, we see pictures,books etc... Internet is veryyy good. 6. Do you teach, have some tutorial or think about it? 7. What you think about the crowdfunding and what it changes on the market? Do you plan to place something yours on Kickstarter? This is a good opportunity for people without money, so you can create your project with help of the people. It could change the market, more opportunities...‌.
I am developing a personal project but I will fund this project I trust my project and I do not need the Kicksarter :) Yet I can not tell nothing about of this proyect, I will announce it in the Gen Con 2014 event.
8. Did you play miniature, board or card games? Which your favorite one? When I was younger I played Mordheind and HeroQuest but now I don`t play. I prefer paint. 9. Which advice you should give to brazilians miniature painters? Patience and practice, it is the big secret if you will get it, you will be a great painter.
10. Did you paint for several contries, did you think is possible for someone from Brazil work for others countries with miniature paint? What you think they need? Yes, It is possible, you need a good communication with the companies. Also very important you need to be effective and good painter.
