Colonel William Pfeffer Colonel William Pfeffer entered the Army as a Private First Class and was commissioned through the Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, Georgia as a Field Artillery Officer in August 1987. Following airborne qualification, COL Pfeffer served as a Fire Support Team Chief (FIST), Ammunition Platoon Leader, Battery Executive Officer, and as a Battalion S2 in the 6th Battalion, 41st Field Artillery, Third Infantry Division with duty in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Iraq during Operations DESERT SHIELD/DESERT STORM. Rebranched in 1991 to military intelligence and graduating from the Military Intelligence Center and School, COL Pfeffer served as the Executive Officer of Detachment S, U.S. Foreign Intelligence Activity (1992-1993) and as a Troop Commander in the Washington D.C. area. After attendance at the Command and General Staff College, COL Pfeffer served as the Deputy G2 of the Southern European Task Force (SETAF) in Vicenza, Italy with duty in the Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) and Bosnia, later serving as the Executive Officer of the 165th MI BN (TE), V Corps, USAREUR. Returning to CONUS, COL Pfeffer served at U.S. Special Operations Command as an Intelligence Operations Officer, Geospatial Imagery Division Chief, Operations Chief and as Deputy Director of the Interagency Task Force within the Center for Special Operations at McDill AFB, Florida. Colonel Pfeffer served as the Assistant Chief of Staff, G2, at U.S. Army Africa / SETAF (9th U.S. Army) from July 2010 to June 2012. COL Pfeffer commanded the 319th MI Battalion, 525th Battlefield Surveillance Brigade, Fort Bragg from 2006-2009, deploying with the battalion during OIF 07-09 as Task Force Tracker. Following command, he served as the Task Force Bragg Operations Officer (G3 Ops Chief) for the XVIII Airborne Corps prior to attendance at the Army War College. COL Pfeffer is currently serving as the Garrison Commander, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Colonel Pfeffer is a graduate of the U.S. Army Basic Training Course at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; the Officer Candidate School; the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course; the Basic Parachute Course; the Military Intelligence Transition, Advanced and Counterintelligence Courses; the Combined Arms Staff School; the Command and General Staff College, the Joint and Combined Warfighting School, and the Army War College. His civilian and advanced degrees include a Bachelor of Arts degree in Classical Humanities from Miami University (Ohio), a Master of Education degree in University Administration from the University of Vermont and a Master of Strategic Studies from the Army War College at Carlisle Barracks, PA. COL Pfeffer‘s decorations include the Bronze Star (1OLC), the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (4OLC), the Army Commendation Medal (1OLC), the Joint Meritorious Unit Award (1OLC), the Valorous Unit Award, the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and the NATO Medal. His skill badges include the Air Crewmember and Parachutist badges.


CSM Jerry F. Faulk Command Sergeant Major Jerry F. Faulk entered the Army in August 1982. He completed basic training and advanced individual training at Fort Bliss, Texas. His previous assignments include; 3rd Battalion, (Airborne) 4th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; HHB, 3rd Battalion (ABN) 4th ADAR, Fort Bragg, North Carolina where he served his first 11 years. Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; Camp Lincoln, Springfield, Illinois; 5th Battalion, 5th ADAR, Camp Stanley, Korea; 3rd Battalion (ABN) 4th ADAR, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Headquarters and Headquarters Company, Joint Readiness Training Center, Fort Polk, Louisiana; Headquarters USA TRADOC, Fort Monroe, Virginia; 108th Air Defense Artillery Brigade, Fort Bragg, NC. The 1st Battalion 44th Air Defense Artillery (Air Missile Defense) Fort Hood, TX; 69th Air Defense Artillery Brigade (Rear) Command Sergeant Major. He is currently the Command Sergeant Major for Phantom Command, III Corps Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion. CSM Faulk‘s military and civilian education includes the following courses: Basic and Advance Noncommissioned Officer, First Sergeant, Battle Staff, Basic Airborne, Combat Life Saver, Jump Master, Master Marksmanship, SINCGARS Operator, Nuclear/ Biological and Chemical Defense, Air Movement, Transport/ Hazardous Material, Light Leader, Air Assault, Drop Zone Support Team Leader, Total Army Instructor Training , Small Group Instructor, Battle Focus Instructor, Manpads, Rappel Master, Pathfinder Avenger, Anti– Terrorism Force Protection, Unit Victim Advocate, Inspector General, Maneuver Control Course and Pre-Command and Command Sergeants Major Course. CSM Faulk is a graduate of the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy (Class 58), Fort Bliss, Texas. He Holds an Associate‘s Degree in Administrative Management and a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Excelsior College. His awards and decorations include Meritorious Service Medal (7 OLC), Army Accommodation Medal, (9 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (6 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (9th Award), National Defense Service Medal (w/Bronze Star), Korean Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Southwest Asian Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, NCO Professional Development (w/Numeral 4), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (w/Numeral 2), Saudi Arabia Kuwait Liberation Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal, Driver / Mechanic Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Pathfinder Badge and the German Parachutist Badge. CSM Faulk is also a member of Ancient Order of Saint Barber as well a member of the coveted SGT Audie Murphy Club. CSM Faulk has served on numerous combat deployments.

Services, the Army Exchange (the precursor to the Army and Air Force Exchange [AAFES]), and the Army Soldier Show. •1968 Youth Activities Program was established. •1971 Outdoor Recreation Program was begun. •1981 The first Family Advocacy Program was established. •1984 Community & Family Support Center (CFSC) established. •2006 CFSC became the Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Command (FMWRC). •2011 FMWRC became the Installation Management Command G9 (IMCOM). 1918 Dr. Fosdick (Presidential Appointee) wrote, "Morale is as important as ammunition and is just as legitimate a charge against the public treasury.”

Self Help: Self Help Car Bays have the following available: overhead engine crane, floor jacks, cherry pickers, jack stands, creepers, transmission jacks, parts washers, air hose connections, a complete line of metric and standard tools, a tire mounting and demounting machine, air hose connections, and a drive-on lift rack, lifts to enable you to change oil and filters and lubricate chassis with air and hand powered grease guns, and a cut-off saw. The Better Opportunities for Single Service Members (BOSS) Program supports the overall quality of single Service Members' lives. BOSS identifies real Service Member well being issues and concerns by recommending improvements through the chain of command. BOSS encourages and assists single Service Members in identifying and planning for recreational and leisure activities. Additionally, it gives single Service Members the opportunity to participate in and contribute to their respective communities. BOSS is a demonstration of the chain of command's commitment to single Service Members. Mission: To continually progress and improve the quality of life for single Service Members on Fort Leonard Wood. To provide and participate in social, recreational, and educational events, to participate in community service projects, to voice concerns and issues on quality of life, and to be involved with leadership developing activities. CYS SERVICE SPECIAL OPENING - RESPITE CARE Deployment Respite Care is available for children registered with CYS Services whose parent/sponsor is deployed, on TCS, PCS or TDY (90-179 days) orders or a Service Member of the deployed unit. Sixteen free hours of care is available per month, per child, during the deployment. A copy of the Service Member‗s orders must be provided. The CDC opens twice a month for this service. This service may be utilized by other patrons whose children are registered for hourly care. Reservations are required and may be made up to two weeks in advance. Care is available for children 6 weeks - 5th grade. Due to space limitations, paid reservations may be bumped to make room for deployed Service Member‗s reservations. CYS SERVICES - FRG CHILDCARE Family Readiness Group (FRG) childcare is a partnering event between CYS Services and Army Community Service (ACS). There is FREE childcare service two nights per month for any FRG member who would like to utilize the service to attend an FRG meeting. To utilize the service your child must be registered with CYS Services and reservations must be made no later than 12:00 pm the week before the date of the opening. The Youth Center offers a wide range of activities for youth 6th-12th grade. Activities include Boys & Girls Club programming, 4-H programming, group clubs, homework/computer lab activities, day-trips and camps. The High School Lounge offers a variety of after-school, evening and week-end activities for 9th-12th graders. The name SKIESUnlimited is an acronym for the School of Knowledge, Inspiration, Exploration, and Skills. This program can offer Unlimited possibilities for Army children and youth. SKIESUnlimited offers instructional programs for children and youth ranging from four weeks old to 18 years. Through SKIESUnlimited, children and youth have equal access to opportunities to expand their knowledge, inspire them, allow them to explore, and acquire new skills. There is no question that military-connected children and youth face special challenges, and Army Child, Youth & School (CYS) Services believes that the developmental benefits from participating in SKIESUnlimited are significant. Instructional programs touch every aspect of child and youth development: physical, cognitive, emotional and social. Research shows that during the critical hours of 3-8 p.m., children participating in instructional programs are less likely to engage in undesirable behavior. Davidson Fitness Center: DFC is a state of-the-art facility that provides fitness equipment and programs for the entire family. The 64,000-square-foot facility has basketball, racquetball and volleyball courts; an indoor 25-meter swimming pool; an elevated indoor running track; Nautilus and free weights, cardiovascular equipment, six locker rooms, towel service and equipment check-out. Group fitness classes are offered daily at a variety of times. Personal Trainer Program is available to provide one-on-one consultation and guidance. Authorized patrons can purchase recreational Swim passes. Davidson Fitness Center now offers "Insight Child Care" - a play area to entertain your child while you exercise - (no attendant) child MUST be in the parent/guardian's line of sight at all times. Reduce the likelihood of situations and behaviors that put children and youth at risk. Provide a variety of opportunities for parental and command involvement.
