Welcome to the 2022 Annual Virtual Summit! In the following pages you will find important information about the summit as well as the schedule of the webinars. Greetings and welcome to FMHCA’s 2022 Virtual Summit! It is a great honor to serve as your President this year! It is also an incredible privilege to serve alongside our fantastic board, wonderful administrative team, and our amazing membership! We at FMHCA realize these continue to be extremely challenging times, namely due to the continued pandemic. In light of that, we offer you this Virtual Summit. FMHCA strives to meet the needs and wants of its members. You asked, and we responded, and due to popular demand, FMHCA is offering a Virtual Summit filled with a variety of workshops our members have requested. I would like to thank your FMHCA administrative team. It takes much behind the scenes work to pull this together. They do an amazing job; thank you very much! Remember, FMHCA is here to serve you and your needs as professionals. We seek, welcome, and value your input into this organization. FMHCA's Mission Statement Florida Mental Health Counselors Association (FMHCA) is the State Chapter of American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA). FMHCA is the only organization dedicated exclusively to meeting the professional needs of Florida’s Licensed Mental Health Counselors. Its sole purpose is to promote the profession of mental health counseling and the needs of our members. The mission of the Florida Mental Health Counselors Association is to advance the profession of clinical mental health counseling through intentional and strength-based advocacy, networking, professional development, legislative efforts, public education, and the promotion of positive mental health for our communities. The purpose of the Florida Mental Health Counselors Association is to: · Provide a system for the exchange of professional information among mental health counselors through newsletters, journals or other scientific, educational and/or professional materials · Provide professional development programs for mental health counselors to update and enhance clinical competencies · Promote legislation that recognizes and advances the profession of mental health counseling · Provide a public forum for mental health counselors to advocate for the social and emotional welfare of clients · Promote positive relations with mental health counselors and other mental health practitioners in all work settings to enhance the profession of mental health counseling · Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of minimal training standards for mental health counselors · Promote scientific research and inquiry into mental health concerns · Provide liaison on the state level with other professional organizations to promote the advancement of the mental health profession · Provide the public with information concerning the competencies and professional services of mental health counselors · Promote equitable licensure standards for mental health counselors through the state legislature

How to Earn your CEUs

Speaker Clause The planners and sponsors of this summit assume no responsibility for the comments expressed by the speakers/ presenters, nor do they accept responsibility for the content or reprinting of any materials used or provided to attendees during the Virtual Summit.

Complete the evaluation after each webinar you attend. Please note you will have to complete an evaluation for each webinar that you attend to receive CEUs. All webinar evaluations will be electronic and will be emailed to you (it will not populate on your screen).

FMHCA Grievance Statement All grievances and inquires will be handled on an individual bases and evaluated on their merit. Individuals, companies, and organizations wishing to submit a Grievance Form can do so by navigating to FMHCA.org

Please complete the evaluations for the webinars that you attend promptly to ensure proper reporting to CE Broker and issuing of certificates. All credits will be reported to CE Broker within 1 business week of the webinar attended (based on participant’s completion of the evaluations)

The supervision model presented in the workshop is Feedback Informed Treatment in association with Deliberate Practice. A discussion of Trauma Informed Care principles intermingled with the common core factors of psychotherapy is also included. Enriched with video tutorials and case studies, supervisors will participate in various therapeutic perspectives: Person In Environment Centered Practice grounded in Common Core Factors, Trauma Informed Care, Feedback Informed Treatment, and the use of feedback in Deliberate Practice. Supervisory demonstrations include assessing feedback, observation of the supervisees' work with the client, the supervisees' Deliberate Practice plan development that includes completion of the Taxonomy of Deliberate Practice Activities in Psychotherapy, demonstration of Deliberate Practice, and administration examples of how to administer the Session Rating Scale and Outcome Rating Scale to the client, and supervisory demonstrations of best practices. Often, students and individuals in the field but not licensed will approach the exam in the same manner that they deal with clients according to the agency they are working in. However, the exam is based more on a theoretical construct and evidence-based practices back by research. Not having access to the DSM-5 during the exam also adds another dimension that requires the student to memorize criteria, durations, and differentials that compound this exam's difficulty. At the end of the CE, participants will have developed a personal model of supervision, examined trauma, burnout, and Secondary Traumatic Stress self-care strategies. Finally, participants will consider the use of Deliberate Practice, Feedback Informed Treatment and Trauma Informed Care in their qualified supervision practice. Counseling with couples is both challenging and exciting. And dealing with the devastation of affair(s) only adds more layers of healing. This workshop will focus on how to handle the first session with listening to the 15


story and setting expectations. The other topics discussed will be stages of affair recovery, SUPPORT, unproductive responses to emotional pain, trust, and defining hurts and repair. Sandra will also cover the risk factors for an affair and recognizing signs for an inappropriate relationship. Sandra B. Stanford draws upon her experience in the counseling room as well as the resources from AffairHealing.com (Tim Tedder), Brene’ Brown, Linda J MacDonald, Stefanie Carnes, PhD, Dr. David Ferguson, and Dave Carder.
