We miss you! Fairbanks North Star Borough Parks and Recreation is working hard planning for the return of recreation facilities and programming while adhering to state and public health guidance. As of June 19th, our re-open date is August 3rd, 2020.
WALK
From June 1 to June 14, the Fairbanks North Star Borough Parks and Recreation Department encouraged residents to spread joy and get creative at home with the 'Chalk Your Walk' contest. 4 winners were selected for their fun & creative designs!
The following facilities are OPEN for limited use by reservation: Parks & Recreation Administrative Office - 459-1070 Hamme Pool - register online for use, fees apply. Be advised that many of these facilities do not have restrooms. Facility status is being evaluated on a daily basis and subject to change. Please keep in mind our staffing and resources are limited due to COVID-19 mandate requirements and we are responding as quickly as possible to changing mandates and guidelines.

CAMP The Fairbanks North Star Borough Virtual Summer Camp program is an exciting chance for children ages 5 to 13 to have a fun-filled summer! Campers engage in arts & crafts, outdoor adventures, snack making, STEM activities, and more all from the safety and comfort of their own home.

Wednesday, Thursday or Friday before the camp you selected camp begins. Because of the facility closure in place, please call 907-459-1070 when you are parked in our parking lot. Once we confirm your registration, one of our staff will bring your summer camp supplies out to you. Our office hours are M - F 8am - 5pm. If you are unable to pick up on these days/times, please email lauren.eck@fnsb.us. It’s a whole summer of fun for just $5 per camper per day! Sign up for just one week or join us for all sessions. There is a limit of 40 campers per week. Preference is given to Fairbanks North Star Borough Residents

NEW & UPDATES HAMME POOL IS OPEN! Hamme Pool is accepting reservations for Lap Swim, Family Swim & Water Walking! There is no cost to reserve a spot, but you will be required to pay when you arrive at the pool - $4.00 per Youth/Senior, $6.00 per Adult. Locker rooms are not available - Shower before arriving and come in your swim suit. All patrons shall wear a face covering when not in the water. Patrons will be screened at the front desk. Walk in use is not available at this time. Please limit requests to one time slot per day.

Our parks and recreation areas are vitally important to maintaining the quality of life in our community, ensuring the health of all citizens, and contributing to the economic and environmental well-being where we live, work and play. Get outside this July to stay active and healthy AND to celebrate this special month with us. With more than 850 miles of trails, 5 recreation areas, 25 playgrounds and 30 parks in our communitythere are so many ways to have fun!
