Working with UCL Institute of Education in the Far East The UCL Institute of Education (IoE) has taken over 200 delegates through the NPQ programmes. They have a wealth of experience in running these programmes locally and they offer outstanding support throughout the duration of the 12 to 18-month programme. The NPQ programmes, as delivered via UCL’s IoE, are recognised and supported across the globe. The programmes offer a unique opportunity to network with other international leaders from across the Far East. The IoE offers additional support throughout the programme and at the final assessment stage, with a dedicated educational and administrative London-based team. LOCATION

National Professional Qualification for Headship The National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) supports the professional development of aspiring and serving headteachers. In addition to the induction and five face-to-face (F2F) sessions, the NPQH programme follows a blended learning format. This consists of workplace learning and practice activities, peer and facilitated learning, reading, structured reflection, online learning and a 360 diagnostic assessment.

During the Job Alike Workshop (JAWs) there will be an opportunity to network with teachers from other FOBISIA schools to share experiences and effective practice of teaching Drama in International Schools. We expect educators who attend this JAWs to leave with ideas that they can take directly into their classroom practice. The JAWs will offer detailed insight into: Gecko Theatre – a workshop will look at Gecko’s processes, practically exploring their devising work. Teaching Shakespeare in the Drama classroom- English teachers are instructed to stand it up and start early but are there any differences within the drama classroom? lots of other exciting ideas and workshops that teachers will bring with them!
Accommodation: The recommended hotel is The Park Avenue Rochester Hotel which is about 10 minutes from school. There will be one visit to the Globe Theatre on Tour with a production of The Comedy of Errors at 2.30pm on Saturday 14th September at the Victoria Theatre. There is also an option of watching Twelfth Night at 2pm on the Sunday 14th finishing at 4.15pm. This Sunday production costs 137.50 SGD.

We offer the opportunity to explore and share experiences of how an innovative curriculum and pedagogy can make student (and teacher learning) deeper, transferable, contextualized, experiential and purposeful for learners. This JAWS will explore different approaches to enhance curriculum design and pedagogy through various innovative approaches. The two days will be based around workshops hosted by the teachers attending Proposed topics: ● Concept Based Learning ● Enquiry Based Learning ● STEAM Learning ● Forest and Beach Schools ● Reggio Emilia Philosophy
All delegates will be encouraged to share their own experiences of innovative curriculum design and learning in order to better inspire and engage their learners.
