Middlefield Summer Fest ~ July 27

July 27 promises to be a full day of pure fun with over 50 local businesses, organizations  and individuals taking part. It all begins at 8 a.m. with registration for the 5K race at the Grove Street Pavillion. At 11 a.m., music by The Pop Tarts will begin and food vendors and bounce houses will open in the parking lots of Great Lakes Outdoor Supply and the Middlefield Fire Department on Route 608 just north of Route 87. The parade will start at 1 p.m., with Roy Rogers Jr. serving as Grand Marshal! Middlefield Village Economic Development Committee float in the MIddlefield Summer Fest parade 2012. The Circus is Coming The Kelly Miller Circus will be in Middlefield Wednesday, July 24 and Thursday, July 25 with two shows each day. The shows are 4:30 and 7:30 pm. Tickets are $10 for adults, $6 for children 2 to 12 years old, and under 2 years old are free. Buy your tickets in advance and save. If you wait to purchase your tickets at the box office, the ticket cost is $15 for adults and $7 for children. Everyone is invited to come out and watch the animals being unloaded and fed and the elephant raising the big top. Activities

will begin Wednesday at 7:30 am, and the tent will be raised at 9 a.m. Behind the scene tours will be available after the set up, free to school groups, individuals, and anyone  attending. Ticket outlets throughout Middlefield are: Cortland Banks, Huntington Bank in Middlefield and in Burton, Middlefield Bank - both the west branch and main office, Coffee Corners in Middlefield, The Fig Tree, Merryfield Electric, Save-A-Lot, and Hilltop Variety.

West Farmington Old Fashioned Days Come and enjoy an old-fashioned summer festival in downtown West Farmington July 25 through 28. Opening ceremonies with Girl Scout Troop 178 at the Veteran’s Monument will kick off the festivities at 5 p.m. on July 25 followed by food, contests and entertainment. On July 26, beginning at 5 p.m. there will be more contests, including a baby photo, watermelon-eating, cookie and kiddie tractor pull competition. Have a pork sandwich or indulge in the Haystack Dinner. Saturday, start off with breakfast at the senior center at 7 a.m. before pitching horseshoes or taking part in the 5K run. Find treasures at the craft show and silent auction, join in on the cornhole tournament, cake
