Thanksgiving Thoughts
A Thanksgiving to Remember
By Susan Yoder
The year was 1987. We were in the process of building our home where we’re at now. Norm (my husband) and his brother Bert were working on shingling the house roof. Then we heard the fire trucks coming and stopping not far off. Come to find out, Urie Jr. and Susan Byler had a house fire on Swine Creek Road where the Jonas and Laura Byler family live now. It was pretty much a total loss. I believe they were in a new house again by Christmas.
Thankful for … Simple Pleasures By Mrs. Rudy Kathryn Detweiler Simple pleasures are the best … . Sitting by a fire on a winter afternoon . Slipping under flannel sheets on a cold winter night . Curling up with the Sunday paper . Listening to children at play . Picking the summer’s first tomato . Watching fireflies blinking across the lawn . Smelling just-cut grass . Having an old-fashion hayride . Watching the first snow of winter . Having a good laugh . Coming home

Happy Thanksgiving
By Mrs. Rudy Kathryn Detweiler
The pumpkin pies are cooling, Upon the pantry shelf. While Mother scurries to and fro, Much like a busy elf. We have casseroles of golden yams, And scalloped corn to bake. Cranberry sauce and turkey, And stuffing yet to make. Tomorrow when the kinfolk come, The rafters sure will ring. We’ll offer Thanks and then we’ll eat, ‘Til we can hardly sing. With fellowship and hearty meal, And snowflakes on the way. May every home be warmly blessed, On this Thanksgiving Day!
Happy Thanksgiving to You All!

Count your blessings. Be thankful if you can walk, talk, have clothes to wear, family who love you and the privilege to worship a living God!
