Meet Chef Kashish Punit Thakral, a young and talented chef who has been making waves in the culinary world. His journey started with his passion for cooking, which he inherited from his grandmother Further honed his skills and taught him the basics of hospitality From there, Chef Kashish's journey as a chef began, and he hasn't looked back since.
For the last 19 months, Chef Kashish has been an integral part of the team at Copperleaf, where he has had the opportunity to showcase his skills and create some of his signature dishes. Among his most popular creations are the Herbs-crusted Murg tikka, Steamed Murgh Mutton, and Dum Phukht Ghosh. When it comes to his favourite cuisine, Chef Kashish has a soft spot for open-fire cuisine, including Dum phukht, Tardoor, Grills, and BBQ. He believes in renewing his dishes while retaining the original flavour of the ingredients.
Despite his growing success, Chef Kashish still finds joy in cooking simple, basic food, which he believes can be just as challenging to perfect as more complex dishes. His comfort food is still the food his mother prepares, and he finds satisfaction in the memories it brings back
Confidence is Chef Kashish's biggest strength, which he believes is necessary to make things perfect. He believes in creating an environment in his kitchen where his team can never say " no, " and every request made by a guest is met with a positive mindset His only weakness is sometimes allowing emotions to influence his decisions.
Chef Kashish is proud to be part of the Copperleaf team, especially during the challenging times brought on by the pandemic. Thanks to the support of the directors, his team was able to continue working and providing care for their employees during this difficult period.
Looking to the future, Chef Kashish has big plans for Copperleaf, with hopes to expand the brand to 22 branches in the next five years His passion for cooking and dedication to his craft is evident in every dish he creates, and he is excited to continue pushing culinary boundaries and exploring new flavours. When asked about the one tool he couldn't live without, Chef Kashish couldn't choose just one, instead citing his need for a knife, flat spatula, cast iron Kadhai, ladles, and Wok in his kitchen. With these tools and his passion for cooking, Chef Kashish continues to make waves in the culinary world and inspire the next generation of chefs
