Market and Commodity News Basa Supply Constraints Lead to Longterm Pricing Highs Foodbuy and Highliner have been closely monitoring the Basa market as there continues to be reduced supply which is leading to higher prices. The supply issues are due to the following economic and environmental factors:  China pulling consumption is exceeding US consumption

 Weather conditions are impacting survival leading to production issues

 The USDA’s cut-off date for shipments has been delayed creating uncertainty in the market

Highliner has placed all Basa products on allocation for the time being to mitigate and control availability until they can regain inventory to meet demand. With significant backlogs in production and availability, Highliner expects to see on-going delays in order replenishment. Basa SKUs that are currently impacted are shown below: Brand Product Description SKU Highliner HL 10 lb Basa IQF FLT 4-6 oz 1164 Highliner HL 10 lb Basa IQF FLT 6-8 oz 1165 Highliner SIG 10 lb Basa Loin IQF 4 oz ASC 1166 Highliner SIG 10 lb Basa IQF FLT 4 oz ASC 1031162 Highliner HL 10 lb Basa Krunchie 3 oz 7792

Basa prices are expected to continue rising for the long-term with no relief in sight. Foodbuy customers are encouraged to think about using alternative items to replace the Basa currently on your menus. Highliner has various Pollock products that would make an adequate substitute for Basa. SKUs for Pollock items that are similar are below: Brand Product Description SKU Highliner Treated Pollock Fillets 10 lb 4-6 oz 1002978 Highliner Treated Pollock Fillets 10 lb 2-4 oz 1002976 Highliner Untreated Pollock Loins 10 lb 4 oz 8468 Highliner Untreated Pollock Loins 10 lb 3 oz 8767

Market and Commodity News Foodbuy and Bamford Make Produce Delivery Modifications to Enhance Customer Service Bamford Produce and the Foodbuy Produce Team have been working over the past few months to ensure quality service and maximum value when it comes to Bamford Produce deliveries. In an effort to avoid cost increases, the team has been working together to find solutions that are manageable for Foodbuy customers. Our mutual goal is to provide our customers with integrated produce solutions, from produce experts, so you can ensure success in your business. As a result of this collaboration, Foodbuy and Bamford have updated delivery frequencies to customer units effective June 4, 2018. • Units ordering $200 or less in produce can have one (1) produce delivery per week.

• Units ordering between, $201-$499 in produce orders can have up to two (2) deliveries per week.

• Units ordering between, $500-$999 in produce orders can have up to three (3) deliveries

per week. • Units with $1,000 or more in produce orders weekly can a have a minimum of four (4)

Delivery changes do not apply to any additional orders caused by shorts, product quality issues, or incorrect shipments. In these instances, Bamford will work to find a solution that is mutually agreeable to customer units and Bamford Produce. To better manage time and labour in the ordering process, please take advantage of Bamford’s online ordering portals to place your orders and track your deliveries.
