Meal Village is one of the most affordable locally made, non-subscription-based comfort food meal delivery services in the Chicagoland area with a daily rotating menu available same-day. Now Meal Village has launched a new Indian cuisine brand with Daily Rasoi. Founded by Naperville, Ill., resident Ravi Ayyalaraju, Meal Village launched in January 2016 with the vision to become America’s alternative to home cooking by delivering comforting, affordable meals. “Home cooked meals made with love are at the heart of every dish,” says Ayyalaraju, president of Meal Village. Born in a small southern town in India, Ayyalaraju adds, “I’m proud to grow Meal Village with our new brand Daily Rasoi, meaning ‘Daily Kitchen,’ and look forward to serving our communities with the familiar comfort food I grew up eating.” Prepared locally in the Meal Village kitchen, based in Lisle, Ill., Daily Rasoi is comprised of 30 dishes available for ordering Monday through Friday. Sides, curries, vegetarian dishes and meat entrées range in prices starting at $3.50 to $14.50. The purposefully lower pricing is geared towards customers looking for locally sourced meal solutions. Addressing Credit, Cash Flow Issues with a Single Business Credit Card
“If you approach 100 people for seed capital, 99 of them may say no, you just need that one.” —William Pickard, chairman of the Global Automotive Alliance
There Are Many Ice Creams But Only ONE
Richard Serrano was using personal credit cards to cover expenses for his business, El Capitan Seafood & Mexican Grill in downtown Hobart, Ind. This arrangement, while common among small business owners, was less than ideal. Serrano’s bookkeeping was complicated by mixing his personal and business finances, and his business wasn’t building a credit history of its own. Serrano eventually found PayVus, a credit card designed to address small businesses’ credit and cash flow needs. The card, which boasts a 99% approval rate, gives the business access to a line of credit up to $10,000 to start and interfaces with El Capitan’s merchant services account to pay down the balance as the business processes transactions. “I never owe interest,” Serrano says. At the same time, it’s built up El Capitan’s business credit profile, because all payments are reported to Dun & Bradstreet. Serrano says his business’ improved standing is making it possible to open several new locations around the United States. He considers the PayVus card a gateway to greater loan access in the long-term. “Post-COVID, it’s a great way to rebuild your business credit profile,” he says. For more info on PayVus, contact Jeff Bruce. You can find him listed in our directories under Business Credit & Financing.

ASCIONE BISTRO, 1500 E. 55th St., CHICAGO, Ill.; 773-363-8161. This lively, Italian-centric eatery is nestled into the Hyde Park Courtyard Shops and helmed by chef Gaetano Ascione. The immense New York strip steak was cooked exactly to order in a garlic butter sauce that complemented a side of mashed potatoes, while the osso buco was perfectly tender atop a bed of vegetables and garnished with microgreens. My favorite dish here, the pappardelle with wild boar and mushroom ragout, melted in my mouth. THE BAGEL RESTAURANT & DELI, 3107 N. Broadway, CHICAGO, Ill.; 773-477-0300. When I’m in the mood for some high-quality deli food, this is where I go. They have so much to offer. They start you off with a basket of challah bread, bagel chips and a plate of pickles. Their soups are outstanding; my favorites are the mish-mosh, mushroom barley and chicken noodle. This is great for pickup! I love their bagels and chive cream cheese, their egg and chicken salad and their chopped liver. Their sandwiches are piled high; the corned beef and the turkey club are always at the top of my list. FOODSTUFFS, 2106 Central St., EVANSTON, Ill.; 847-328-7704. This is a beautiful gourmet food shop. They have a sandwich counter, salad bar, poké bar, prepared food section, fresh bread section and cheese section, along with specialty grocery items. I picked up some garlic sage turkey and a potato pancake from the prepared food section and from the bakery, a multigrain roll. They also carry a lot of packaged items such as candy and cookies, which are merchandised beautifully. I also picked up some pretzel balls and a bag of chocolate chip mandelbrot. HEWN BAKERY, 1733 Central St., EVANSTON, Ill.; 847-869-4396. This is a woman-owned business. The products in this bakery are amazing! Everything displayed in the counter looks so appetizing. I tried a blueberry scone and a chocolate zucchini loaf. Both were so moist and delicious. They make artisan breads that are exceptional. I picked up some of the whole wheat bread this time, and my favorite part of the bread is the crust. I highly recommend trying their bread. JUICERX, 1880 N. Damen Ave., CHICAGO, Ill.; 312-252-4938. When I need a healthy detox, this is the place to go. They teamed with top health experts and chefs to create high-caliber, fresh pressed juices and cleanses for detoxing and healing. Their unique hydraulic press delivers three to five times more nutrition than any other juicing technique. I tried Rosemary’s lemonade, which was on special that day. The ingredients included cucumber, lemon, maple syrup, rosemary and activated charcoal; the juice looked black and had a nice kick. The menu also includes bowls and smoothies, too. MR. SUBMARINE, 1322 W. Ogden Ave., DOWNERS GROVE, Ill.; 630474-1322. This is a submarine sandwich shop that serves cold and hot sandwiches, salads, sides and more. They do catering and they can toast any sub to your liking. I had the king-size Mr. Submarine sandwich, which consisted of an assortment of cold cuts, shredded lettuce, tomato, cheese and their special sauce, which makes it taste just right. They serve fountain drinks that you can fill yourself. This is the first time I’ve ever seen anyone stock cherry RC cola in their machine. I was thrilled! SPLIT RAIL, 2500 W. Chicago Ave., CHICAGO, Ill.; 773-697-4413. This shared-plates restaurant is a great date-night destination quiet enough for intimate conversation. The crispy schmaltz buffalo chicken skins were a hit from the first bite, and the crab gravy with crispy Carolina gold rice is my new comfort food. The fried shrimp had a spicy kick, and the coffee-rubbed sirloin with soupy gigante beans, pancetta bits and a bright gremolata was the perfect finale to the meal.

Consumers Still Dining Despite Rising Costs
U.S. restaurant industry sales were strong in the second quarter, driven by pent-up demand and federal stimulus activity. This has given restaurants the opportunity to pass rising costs from labor and inflation on to consumers, according to research from Fitch Ratings. The monthly Food Away from Home Consumer Price Index rose to over 4% in June, after pacing mostly in the lower single-digit range since October 2009, according to Federal Reserve Economic Data cited by Fitch. Prices in the limited-service segment are up even higher — 6.2% — over the year, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics' Consumer Price Index Summary. Amid these price increases, consumer spending at restaurants still jumped 32% in the April, May and June quarter versus the year-ago quarter, and flat over the same quarter in 2019, according to the NPD Group. -Source: Restaurant Dive

After 10 years of research and development, chef Will Rogers of Huntley, Ill., has developed a custom machine that dispenses soft-serve alcohol that looks like ice cream-but with a buzz. Use any wine, beer or mixed drink and turn it into dairy-free soft serve. Rogers hits the streets weekly demonstrating his machines like his idol, McDonald’s Ray Kroc, did with shake machines and eventually grew an empire. IFMA’s Food-Service Industry Report Projects 4.9% Growth The International Foodservice Manufacturers Association published its 2022 foodservice industry and segment growth projections on its IFMA Scope™ platform. Due to recent volatility in the marketplace, the projections utilize calendar year 2019 as a benchmark and are based upon several key assumptions, including COVID-19 vaccine availability, domestic and international travel, and government regulations and mandates. "While 2021 was a growth year compared to the difficult 2020 our industry faced, we are still not completely back to where operator spending was in 2019," said Larry Oberkfell, IFMA president and CEO. "With continual changes in COVID-19 safety guidance, along with supply chain and labor challenges, our industry is still facing a number of headwinds." Some of the key highlights from the segment comparisons to 2019 include: The total restaurant category, including full-service and limited service restaurants, is projected to nearly return to 2019 levels by end of 2022 (2% decline). Quick service restaurants, which have performed significantly better than other segments overall, are expected to surpass 2019 operator spend levels by 7%. However, the fast-casual segment will lag. Full-service restaurant segments, including midscale and casual dining, will not see the same recovery as QSR, only reaching 81% and 91% of 2019 spend, respectively. Collectively, on-site segments in 2022 are projected to only reach 84% of 2019 spend, constrained by slow recovery in the travel and leisure and business and industry segments.
Energy Drink Zoa Gets Top Spot Molson Coors has leveraged its extensive distribution network to get the Zoa Energy brand co-founded by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson into more than 100,000 distribution points and rank as the top-selling new energy brand in IRI's latest four-week poll, said Pete Marino, president of Molson Coors' emerging growth division. The energy, ready-to-drink-coffee and functional water categories are key to Molson Coors' plans to grow beyond alcohol, said Marino. -CNBC

Ill. Dept. of Ag. Expands Mental Health Initiatives for Farmers Here
Illinois Department of Agriculture Director Jerry Costello II announced a grant award of $500,000 to increase farmer stress-related mental health initiatives statewide. The department applied for the grant in coordination with Southern Illinois University Medicine Center for Rural Health and Social Service Development and University of Illinois Extension. In 2019, the Farm Family Resource Initiative was established in Illinois to specifically address mental health needs of the farming and agricultural communities. Led by Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, the FFRI launched a six-county pilot program via a telephone hotline connecting farmers with mental health resources and providers. This grant will allow for the expansion of the pilot program to the entire state. The Farmer Assistance Helpline is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week at 1-833-FARM-SOS. -Source: WSILTV

How to Start a Restaurant Email List, and Why You Need One It’s common for restaurant owners to have many questions regarding email marketing. After all, marketing may not be your passion or your background — and that’s OK. Below are some ideas to get you started on how to turn those subscribers into repeat customers and spark more sales. n Free dessert when customers sign up for email. Have a QR code on the table that is prompted by servers to encourage diners to sign up directly from their phone and use the coupon right away. n Refer a friend (for existing subscribers). Give a meal, get a meal. Forward the email to a friend to send a coupon/free entree item and earn one, too. n Raffle a restaurant prize. Entice new customers to join your email list for a chance to be entered to win something special like dinner for two, access to an event or one free dinner per month for a year. n Birthday promo. People love being celebrated! Offer an annual birthday treat in exchange for an email subscription. n Include polls within your emails to subscribers. Your returning customers know you the best. Ask them to vote on new specials/desserts/live music. Use this information to give the people what they want and to bring in more new customers. n Business card fishbowl. Encourage customers to leave their business cards (to be added to the email list) when they visit to enter for a chance to win free lunch for their office. n VIP offers. Provide exclusivity to your most loyal customers. Give email subscribers priority reservations for special dinners and events. This is a great way to drum up excitement and book out your restaurant in advance. Society Insurance offers a wide variety of blogs dedicated to helping your restaurant. Offering their customers start-to-finish project support, layout and design, they pride themselves on their outstanding customer service and experience, which helps save their customers time and money. Federal Supply USA is proudly woman-owned and is fourth-generation family operated. These pictures show highlights from the firm’s 90th anniversary celebration held at their headquarters and cash-andcarry equipment outlet at 1171 S. Northpoint Blvd., Waukegan, Ill. They took donations for dunk throws for a local organization called Roberti Community House, which offers culinary training. They raised $2,000 and will be matching that amount, donating a total of $4,000. The event’s festivities were broadcast live on the local radio station WXLC-FM, which was broadcasting at the event. You may see the Federal Supply ad on page 23 of this issue.
Holiday Season May Hold Promise Crescent Foods First in U.S. to Offer Hand-Cut Halal Food-Service Program
The nation's foremost American pioneer in premium hand-cut halal meat and poultry products, Crescent Foods, announced the nationwide launch of a turnkey food-service program for college and university dining halls. In addition to offering a wide variety of hand-cut halal beef, lamb, turkey (seasonally) and chicken products for oncampus dining, including restaurants, Crescent Foods also provides numerous retail products for oncampus mini-marts, as a one-stop-shop for universities and their distributors. To enhance the student experience, the company works with student life and development staff, and administrators, to support marketing efforts for all platforms through recipe ideas, signage, education, consumer website, engagement, and social media. Crescent Foods hopes to help create a more welcoming campus atmosphere for Muslim students and for all students who value responsibly sourced food.
Predicting the 2021 holiday season will be difficult as the ongoing pandemic and supply chain issues cloud the picture and force the food industry to be ready for circumstances that are likely to change rapidly. Still, most industry experts agree there will be new opportunities this year, with FMI's Rick Stein saying, "I think consumers will want to gather, they will want to travel more than they did last year, and they will want to celebrate the fact that they are gathering." -Progressive Grocer

Better Business Bureau Warns of Fake Food Website Scams
“Watch out for fake food-ordering websites that scam consumers out of their money and personal information,” said Steve J. Bernas, president and CEO of the BBB for Chicago and Northern Illinois. “To avoid the fees and challenges that come with food delivery apps, some restaurants have set up their own websites.” Here's how the BBB said the scam typically works: While searching for how to order takeout or delivery, a "very professional" looking website will likely appear at the top of the search results, according to officials. After clicking on the link, selecting food choices and entering credit card information, charges have been reported to appear on a bank account but the food never arrives, the BBB said. “Scammers often change the name of the phony website and continue their tricks under a different fake identity,” says Bernas. In one account from the BBB, a person accidentally used a fake food ordering website from which she received a confirmation email of her order. After calling the restaurant and providing the email, workers replied they were not associated with the website. How should people avoid the scam? Here's what the BBB recommends: n Only order from websites you know and trust n When in doubt, call the restaurant to confirm n Use your credit card as opposed to your debit card, so a scammer cannot obtain banking information n If you think you ordered from a fake website, cancel your card and request a new one The BBB noted that some scammers can wait a few weeks to months before using the cards, so there could be time to take preventative action. -Source: NBCChicago.com

The Right Time for Suppliers to Market
With supply chain and labor shortages as the (temporary) norm right now, some suppliers may think that advertising or marketing is not needed now. However the opposite is true and here’s why. 1. Supply Chain Issues. As supply chain issues continue and work themselves out, buyers may be more open than ever to exploring new supplier relationships. Being front and center and letting then know that you are open to their call and relationship will help foster growth. 2. Price Increases. As prices escalate it’s important to “surround” your existing customers with messaging and branding to continually prove your worth, and help buyers continue to be sold on you and your company to avoid them leaving you for your competitor. 3. Are You a Solution? The COVID-19 pandemic has taught us that it is important to be nimble and open to change and this may work for you or against you. Be sure to tip the scale in your favor by instituting a consistent marketing campaign targeted to buyers that will help you to stay in business. 4. Market Consolidation. Some suppliers will disappear, be absorbed by other suppliers or simply go away. Your consistent marketing will help ensure that buyers know you, trust you and know why and what they can buy from you. 5. Hard-to-See Prospects. The high cost of street salespeople and their inability to get in front of buyers during times of labor issues can be paralyzing for a business. Your consistent marketing will help build connections with those you need to influence and sell to and also help make it easy for them to think of you and understand the value you can bring to their business. 6. Buying Changes. Dining habits have changed, which means that the restaurant business will change. Helping buyers shift and making it easy for them to buy from you will help you to get business. 7. Are You the Best and Safest Choice? From the buyers perspective, “Best Known Is Always Best.” Having a company or brand that is best known in its category will help protect you from small, nimble competitors (and large ones) whose strategy is to undercut the competition to gain market share. Then when the competition dries up, they raise prices and reduce their quality or service. 8. Turnover and Ownership Changes. Throngs of new owners have entered our industry. Without knowledge they will choose the cheapest supplier and make buying mistakes. Your consistent marketing and steady exposure indicates that you are successful, reliable and trustworthy, even if your price is higher than your competition. While B2B marketing is never easy, for nearly 40 years Food Industry News has made it easy and affordable for suppliers to surround buyers and continually reach new prospects. With everything changing in our industry, it is an important time to institute a steady advertising and marketing campaign in a publication buyers use, know and trust. For affordable and effective print, digital, mailing and sales lead solutions designed to help build preference with buyers which start at only $375. per year, contact us today: 847-699-3300.

Ill. Restaurant's Tribute to Service Members Killed in Kabul Goes Viral
As the war in Afghanistan came to a close, a restaurant’s silent tribute to the 13 service members killed at Kabul Airport quickly went viral. If you drive down Illinois Route 177 Staff Sgt. Jordan Emrick Memorial Highway will take you to Hoyleton, Ill. “It’s a very small, farming community,” Tina Kretzer said of the town about 30 minutes northwest of Mt. Vernon, Ill. “The military is very important to us and our community,” said LD Kretzer. Kretzer’s Bar & Grill is Hoyleton’s only restaurant. The restaurant is closed on Tuesdays, but there’s still one table that’s occupied: A high-top holds 13 place settings with cans of beer, a small American flag, a candle and a “Reserved” sign. “People are giving their lives for our country for the freedom that we have,” said LD Kretzer. “They’re giving their all for us. Some of these service members are only 20 years old and their life is gone, for us.” A picture of Kretzer’s tribute to the 13 service members killed in Kabul quickly went viral online. It’s unclear how long the memorial will stay up. “That table is a table (for) four that could turn several thousand dollars in a week’s time, and it doesn’t mean anything to us,” said LD Kretzer. “It’s more important to honor their lives.” “I’ll leave it there for a long time probably,” said Tina Kretzer. A fitting reminder for the loved ones of those lost in combat that they’ll always have a seat at the table. “We just want to say we’re thinking about you,” said LD Kretzer. “We’re sorry for what happened. I’m proud of your son or daughter that gave his life so we could have what we have. We’re truly sorry for it. If this helps you honor them, we appreciate it. That’s what we can do for you.” -Source: KSDK-TV

Century Energy Can Find the Best Deal for Your Company
Natural gas pricing is rising, which will also drive power prices higher. This chart shows natural gas price history for 2021 (Brown) compared to 2018, 2019 and 2020. Since most electricity in the United States is generated by burning natural gas, when gas costs go up, so does power. In the second chart, you can see that power for 2022-2025 is lower the further out they go (green pricing). So they can still help you find power at the right price: It’s knowing how and when to shop, which is what they know after accumulating more than 100 years experience in the energy industry. You run your company ... Let Century Energy help you manage your costs and increase your profits! See Century Energy’s ad on page 41 of this issue.
Meat Snacks Still Popular Americans were starting to snack more even before the pandemic hit, and meat snacks that offer a clean-label protein alternative have seen increasing popularity and opened opportunities for grocers to appeal to those focused on healthier between-meal options. Whether from the fridge, freezer or ambient aisle, meat snacks help satisfy "this pursuit of protein and nutrient density in snacks, as well as global flavors," said David Wright of the Hartman Group. -Source: Food Business News
Safer Packaging Alternatives
Food and beverage manufacturers are exploring safer packaging alternatives to traditional systems as a way to give food safety a boost, writes Emily Newton: "Innovative strategies like antimicrobial coatings, portion packaging and plastic alternatives can help manufacturers make safer options."

Columbus Veg Oils Proud of Its 90 Years
In the mid-1930s, Michael Gagliardo, an Italian immigrant, opened a grocery store on Chicago’s West Side. From there, he brought his son, Michael V. Gagliardo, on board. Soon after they expanded operations by employing a can fabricating machine resurrected from a fire at the Continental Can Company. The father and son team rebuilt the machine, set it up in the basement of the grocery store, and formed the “Eagle Can Company,” which rapidly became a formidable supplier of cans to many local, immigrant-owned companies. When a shortage of cooking oil developed during World War II, the Gagliardos were able to secure a source, and the result was a flourishing oil packaging company, which became Columbus Packing Company. Now as Columbus Vegetable Oils, they pride themselves in the functionality and appearance of their facilities. They are constantly updating and improving their premises and equipment to keep their facility within the highest professional standards. Their commitment to constantly improving their services and procedures allows them to continuously raise the bar for value and quality in their products.

CHEF PROFILE
Jonathan Harootunian Fulton Market Kitchen 311 N. Sangamon St., Chicago Current Position: Executive chef Favorite Food to Eat: You can definitely count me as a ramen aficionado! Awards/Honors: It’s always gratifying and humbling to earn a publication’s top star or “best of” rating, both on a personal level and, most especially, in recognition of a hardfought team effort. Memorable Customers: A visit by actor Keanu Reeves at a former restaurant jumps to mind. The frontof-house staff got quite worked up, but Keanu very much seemed like a down-to-earth type of guy. Worst Part of Job: Like other demanding lines of work, we put in some very long, tough hours. It’s ultimately highly rewarding, that’s why we do it. But it does take its toll on one’s life away from the restaurant. Most Humorous Kitchen Mishap: Hah! I well remember being tasked, as a very young chef, with producing six key lime pies. Not recognizing, unfortunately, that someone else had mistakenly emptied a 50-lb. bag of salt into the sugar bin! Favorite Food to Prepare: I love the purity of preparing great Italian food for the deceptive simplicity of combining just a few great ingredients at a time. And in particular, there’s something very meditative and satisfying about stirring up a pot of risotto. What part of the job gives the most pleasure: The chance to “give back,” to be able to help younger, aspiring culinarians to learn, grow and succeed. If you couldn’t be a chef, what would you be and why? I’ve always been fascinated with aviation, and there’s just something alluring about the life of a commercial airline pilot. Best advice you ever got: “Keep your eyes down and mouth shut.” Long-ago advice that has served me well to remember from time to time. Other than family, who was your greatest culinary influence? So many influences along the way. I remember reading Anthony Bourdain’s “Kitchen Confidential” and being struck by how many of the experiences and personalities he describes resonate so deeply with me as well.

COVID-19 has challenged businesses in many ways, especially in the food service industry. Illinois State University in Normal has been experiencing employee shortages in dining locations across campus. From residence hall dining to the Bone Student Center, the growing number of students arriving on campus this year appears to overwhelm the staff. Director of Illinois State University Event Management, Dining and Hospitality Bill Legett spoke about how campus dining centers are relating to the food service employee shortage affecting the whole nation. “We’ve had to make minor adjustments to hours of operation and menu offerings, but our team works very hard to ensure minimal disruptions for our customers,” Legett said. -Source: VidetteOnline.com

Top Five Fastest Drive-Thrus in U.S.
Since the drive-thru service was first introduced to the American fast-food scene, it has been a way of life for many a consumer. Surprisingly, it wasn’t until 1975 that McDonald’s opened its first drive-thru. Today, the chain reports that well over half of its revenue comes from window service, according to Small Business. If McDonald’s could speed up its drive-thru service just a bit more, it might see those revenues grow, too. But as it is, the Golden Arches are just edged out of being in the top five fastest drive-thrus in America today, according to Motor1, with its drive-thru experience averaging 349.3 seconds. Here are the major chains that operate the fastest drive-thrus, based on the latest report. 1. KFC: The fastest of them all, according to SeeLevel HC. Customers average just 283.3 seconds there, which is more than a full minute faster than at Burger King. 2. Taco Bell: According to data put together by market research company SeeLevel HX, Taco Bell customers spend 310.2 seconds in the drive-thru lane, which equates to just a hair over five minutes. This is an improvement on the chain’s own drivethru times from 2019, according to Motor1. 3. Hardee’s: Carl’s Jr.’s sister company Hardee’s manages to operate quite a bit faster than their counterpart, shaving exactly 21 seconds off their drive-thru wait times, with customers in and out in 321.6 seconds. 4. Carl’s Jr.: Customers at a Carl’s Jr. can expect to spend 341.6 seconds in the drive-thru here. 5. Burger King: The average time a customer spends in the Burger King drive-thru before they get to have it their way is 344.3 seconds or 5.7 minutes. -Source: Eat This, Not That!

Tony Robbins and Feeding America Hit Milestone Entrepreneur Tony Robbins, a bestselling author and philanthropist, together with Feeding America, the largest domestic hunger-relief organization in the United States, announced that their multi-year joint campaign to combat food insecurity in America has surpassed a key milestone, but more effort must be made post-pandemic to adequately address the increased need for food assistance. In its first seven years, Robbins and Feeding America, through their 1 Billion Meals Challenge campaign, have funded and helped provide nearly 800 million meals to people in need in the United States. Reaching this key milestone means that the long-term partnership to combat hunger is well on pace to realize its goal of helping to secure 1 billion meals by Dec. 31, 2024.

Motel 6: More People Travel with Pets New research from Motel 6 reveals that as Americans are hitting the roads, they will be doing so with their pets, as the majority (54%) of cat and dog owners noted they plan to travel with their pet in the next year. The economy lodging brand where pets always stay free released new survey data of 1,000 U.S. individuals planning to travel with their pet in the next year. To help travelers enjoy a much-needed break with their pet, Motel 6 has teamed up with Patriot PAWS, an organization dedicated to training and providing service dogs to disabled American veterans and others in need, to share tips on how to do so safely.

Guests can purchase tickets for the premier epicurean event of the Midwest, which kicks off Thursday, Oct. 21, and extends throughout the weekend with cooking demos, educational sessions, tastings, luncheons, evening soirées and live music entertainment. It will create an exciting atmosphere for guests that is memorable and meaningful. In addition to our nationally recognized celebrity chef lineup to be showcased on the culinary stages, our partnership with the Bartolotta Restaurant Group will offer unique programming, and our skilled vineyard principals and owners will feature the ‘best in class’ in their wine and spirit portfolios to attendees,” she said. The celebrity chef lineup includes Fabio Viviani, Rick Bayless, Nyesha Arrington, Jamika Pessoa, Melissa King, Elena Besser and cast members from “America’s Test Kitchen.” Destination Kohler, the Midwest’s only Forbes five-star and AAA Five Diamond resort-hotel, will serve as the stunning backdrop with reservations available for hotel packages. The resort has been named one of the top three golf resorts in North America by Golf Digest. The resort features 12 dining establishments from the four-star Immigrant Restaurant to traditional pub fare of the Horse & Plow as well as River Wildlife.
