Hoofed I 04

HOOFED Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Kuala Lumpur

by www.clevermunkey.blogspot.com It was Thursday night, wet and the traffic on the road was terrifically jam. It's a norm living in a big city to have traffic congestion during peak hours and it just get worst when the rain starts pouring. It's a total different lifestyle when you are staying out of the city or even in a small town, you will just stay at home to watch television to avoid going outside of the house. Anyway, despite the rain, traffic congestion, frustration and busy lifestyle, there's always a place in the city that people from different interest or generation can drop by to chill or even to have a good dinner with family and friends. In this entry, I would like to share a place called Hoofed which emphasize on alcoholic drinks such as cocktail, wine, beer and at the same time they provide a very good sensational pork dishes to satisfy every needs of a customer.

Hoofed I 06

On the 20th of October 2011, I was being invited to the Cocktail Moment where they launched three special cocktails designed exclusively for Hoofed. Chong Yi Shawn, a very familiar face here in Hoofed, and an even more familiar face in the world at World Class Bartending, had specially concocted these three exclusive cocktails to compliment that ‘Hoofed Moment’. Malaysia’s very own mix master who is the current Diageo World Class Malaysian champion had been gracing the cocktail moments events so that the customers will be Hoofed! For sure! Every drinks were skillfully made by Yi Shawn here at Hoofed.

Our first drink of the night was the White Lady, a mixture of Tanqueray Gin, Triple Sec Sugar Syrup and lemon juice. Something really soothing and great as a starter drink before the meal.

Hoofed I 08

Lommy’s Margarita

A Single Smooth Whisper

Next we had Lommy’s Margarita which consist the Don Jullo Reposado Tequilla, Agave Nectar and Lime Juice. This is my personal favorite and it was a good drink when having a heavy meal. Something to clear the throat down with. Last but not least, we had the A Single Smooth Whisper, a mixture of Singleton, Maple Syrup Coffee and Cream. This dessert cocktail reminds me of Bailey and I think most girls would prefer this.

Bacon Fried Rice (RM19.60)

If you are a Bacon or in Chinese 'lap cheong' lover, you would like the taste of this fried rice. Simply delicious!

Hoofed I 10

Roast Pork Belly (RM17.90)

Then we had this Roast Pork Belly. The texture of the meat was very soft and it melted in my mouth. Can you handle the awesomeness of this pork belly? Pork lover must try this!

Hoofed I 11

Roasted Suckling Pig (RM170 - full; RM90 - half)

Hoofed I 12

This Roasted Suckling Pig catched my attention the most! Normally I only had roasted suckling pick in some really typical Chinese restaurant but I would give some credits for this. The skin was crispy and music started coming out of my mouth in every single bite. I know I might be a little exaggerated but that's how I can express my feelings at that moment! Two of us can finish half of the suckling pig! The juiciness and tenderness till the very last bite! :) I am 100% sure that I will come back for this.

Tenshi no Café I 15

TENSHI NO CAFÉ e@Curve, Mutiara Damansara

by www.foodnframe.com Maid Café is a popular phenomenon in Japan where waitresses are dressed in maid costumes and act like servants, treating their customers as masters (and mistresses). These maids are dressed like French maids, with a dress, a petticoat, a pinafore, matching hair accessories and stockings. Seeing the increasingly popular trend of maid café mushrooming in China, South Korea, Taiwan, Mexico, Canada and USA, some enterprising individual decided to joint-venture with Japan’s Akihabara Maid Café to set up the first maid café in Malaysia called Tenshi no Café. When I first stepped into Tenshi no Café, my first impression was ‘cute’. With its dainty interior decoration, pink colour walls and a handful of anime figurines, it doesn’t take long for one to realise that they just entered into a Japanese anime world. Even their maids behave like those characters you read in Japanese manga.

Seafood Spaghetti with Sweet Sour Sauce (RM23.90)

Food wise, Tenshi no CafĂŠ serves an interesting range of Japanese Street Food and Beverage. Here are the food that were served during our food review. The sauce of this Seafood Spaghetti with Sweet Sour Sauce was sweeter than the usual spaghetti I normally had but it was still nice. The prawns and mussels were also fresh.

In this Salmon Fish Ball served with Japanese Fried Rice, I love the taste of the fried rice. Each individual rice grain can be tasted inside my mouth and it has a nice flavour to it. The Salmon Fish Balls were springy and equally delicious!

It was an eye opener for me to step into a Maid Café for the first time. Although Maid Café is a relatively new concept in Malaysia, I am sure its is unique enough to attract more than just fans or anime and manga. I was told that they even provide feeding services to their customers should they request to be spoon fed by the maids there. How cool is that? by www.malaysianfoodie.com Ever heard of Crumbs? Crumbs indeed are one of the famous delights in Hong Kong and now you can find this in Malaysia. Crumbs had provide Malaysian an opportunity to have the smooth yogurt on the table without travelling to Hong Kong to grab the bites and taste of it. The Hong Kong favourite scones and yogurt joint had successful build up to 8 branches in Hong Kong within 2 years where they started in 2009. One of the famous products from crumbs is the frozen yogurt where the frozen yogurt is pure frozen yogurt and their yogurts and toppings are mostly fresh made daily.

Here in Crumbs Pavillion, they are offering 24 choices of toppings and most of the toppings are freshly prepared daily. The toppings includes from mini meringue, mocha, fruits like strawberry, mango as well as blueberry. They also have lychee, chocolate syrups, M&M, peach, nata de’coco as well their signature house crumbs. The frozen yogurt is made with no added water as well as no added ice and for girls; you will definitely love the sweet bites and no worry on dieting. It is low fat and made of healtier indulgence.

The Mini Meringue, Mochi and the House Crumbs

We tried a few choices of combination of the frozen yogurt. Started with the mochi with the mini meringue and the house crumbs added with it is simply mouth watering. The mocha was nice to chew with the frozen yogurt which is our favorites of all and to top up with their house crumbs it is really nice.

The Lychee, Nata De'Coco and the House Crumbs

Next comes, the frozen yogurt with the choices lychee and nata de’coco where the sweet taste bites of the whole frozen yogurt. The lychee is sweet and to be adding on together with the crumbs and the bites of nata de coco in it, I can say I am falling in love with this dessert. With the house crumbs added on it, the yogurt is even more perfect.

The Mango, Strawberry Topping and the House Crumbs

This is also my favorite which is the mango and strawberry. The sweetness of mango as well as the sour taste of strawberry is one of the best combinations. With the house crumbs, the crunchy taste and the sweet taste is really yummy.
