BIOGR APHIES Aleta Bernard (Costume Designer) Aleta is proud to be involved in another fabulous show at WCT. Past favorites are Red Hot & Cole, The 1940s Radio Hour, Private Lives, and her first show, Sylvia. “Our community is very fortunate to have such a wonderful theatre facility. It’s great to be around all this talent and energy.” Karin Cunnigham (Director) Since arriving on the scene from Texas in 2006, Karin Cunningham feels so grateful to have been in and directed so many productions at WCT. Directing Best Christmas Pageant Ever, Miracle on 34th Street, and Alone Together, and playing Lady Bracknell in The Importance of Being Earnest, The Wardrobe in Beauty and the Beast, Maggie Jones in 42nd Street and, most recently, The Reverend Mother in Nuncrackers are just some of her 2 Waukesha Civic Theatre

favorites. She wants to thank the Waukesha audience for making her feel so at home and welcome! Scott Fudali (Lighting Designer) Scott has been designing lights for both Carroll University and WCT for a number of years now when not keeping the network running for the University. Some of his favorite designs have included Sweet Charity and Dead Man Walking at Carroll as well as The Music Man and 42nd Street at WCT. He hopes you enjoy the show, and he would like to thank his girlfriend and parents for their continued support in all his theatre endeavors. Jenny Kosek (Isabelle) Crossing Delancey is Jenny’s 11th show at the Pix. It’s hard for her to stay away since everyone’s so doggone nice here, including this great cast and

B I O G R A P H I E S ( C O N T .) crew comprised of familiar faces she’s been privileged to work with before. Thanks to Jake for sharing Neddy with us, and love to the pickleman. L’chaim! Matt Lovison (Sam) Matthew Lovison is excited to be performing back at Waukesha Civic Theatre in this production of Crossing Delancey. You may have seen him recently as Renfield in Dracula and Cratchit in Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol at Old World Wisconsin. Matt would like to thank Karin for this opportunity and Jenny for all her love and support. Enjoy the show! Denise Meagher (Idiala) Denise is a seasoned community theatre cast member. Though she has performed in various venues, WCT is her favorite. Most recently, Denise reprised her role as Sister Amnesia in Nuncrackers. In addition to being a nun, she has also enjoyed portraying other characters, including Annie Oakley in Annie Get

Your Gun, The Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz, Kaye Taffeta in The Taffetas, Marmee in Little Women, and Isobel Lomax in The Kitchen Witches. Denise is a published freelance writer and blogger for WCT’s PIX FIX. She and husband, Ted, live in Waukesha and are blessed with four sons and accompanying families, including six grandchildren, as well as having an assortment of “furry kids,” too. She praises God for the talents He’s given her and feels blessed to be working with this talented cast and crew. She’s also thrilled to, in a small way, connect with her own Jewish roots through this wonderful show. Shalom! Debi Mumford (Stage Manager) Debi is very excited to be working with this talented cast and crew. She wishes to thank her family and friends for their never-ending support and encouragement. Zi ge zunt and enjoy the show!

D I R E C TO R ’ S N O T E S What a privilege it has been for me to get the opportunity to direct such a warm-hearted, well-written, and not to mention, extremely funny piece of contemporary American theatre. Crossing Delancey’s multi-dimensional characters and quick wit gives us a peek into one of the world’s richest cultures as it deals with the very familiar universal struggle between the generations and finding true love. I could not have chosen a more talented and committed cast and crew to breathe life into this incredibly complex and interesting story. I know you’ll enjoy watching our “Bubbie” as she shows us that, no matter who you are, when it comes to love and companionship, some things never change! L’chaim! Karin Cunningham Director S P O T L I G H T O N T H E B OA R D O F D I R E C TO R S Crossing Delancey is about looking for love in all the wrong places. Taking place in New York, playwright Susan Sandler shows us the interaction of Isabelle, a young working woman, her grandmother Bubbie (Ida), and the marriage broker. The marriage prospects are Tyler and Sam. What transpires is for you to enjoy! The story is a grand opportunity for the WCT to showcase our fine actors and directing talent. The Waukesha Civic Theatre is our local treasure. Where else can you see first class theatre in a comfortable and cozy setting? The Theatre’s continued vitality depends on each of us showing support for the actors, directors, and the WCT itself by attending performances and telling others about the great time you have. There are many opportunities to show support - contributions are always appreciated. But there is more! Volunteer to usher, bartend, work behind the scenes, or act! The limits of ways to support are only limited by your imagination. Members of the WCT Board are volunteers as well, and you can find them at our shows wearing their Board Director name tags. Talk to them about WCT. Now sit back and enjoy finding love in the right place in Crossing Delancey. Best wishes for a warm-hearted winter. Michael O. Bohren, Board Director

M AD CORNER I would like to thank everyone that supports WCT! We wouldn’t be here without you. All of our volunteers help us out in any number of ways by acting, ushering, serving on the board of directors, providing maintenance or office support, or working on sets, costumes, and props. Our patrons come to WCT to see quality live entertainment, the fruits of our volunteers’ labor. Our donors help keep us financially sound by their gifts to the Annual Operating Fund, the Endowment Fund, or by including us in their planned giving. The generosity of the Waukesha community astounds me, and I truly appreciate all the time, talent, and money that you give to WCT. One way, and arguably the best way, to support WCT is to spread the word about Waukesha’s best-kept secret. It always amazes me when I meet someone in Waukesha who has no idea what a fantastic organization we have right here in the heart of the community. Tell people about what we do and all we offer. Enrich. Challenge. Entertain. That says it all, so keep watching, keep participating with, and keep supporting this cultural cornerstone. We couldn’t do it without you. WAU K E S H A C I V I C T H E AT R E M I S S I O N S TAT E M E N T WCT’s mission is to provide quality live theatre performances and educational opportunities that enrich, challenge, and entertain both participants and audience members. The Civic Broadway Singers perform yearround in southeastern Wisconsin under the musical direction of Abby Lorenz. The 30-voice group sings memorable Broadway favorites for a variety of events, from company picnics and Christmas parties to corporate lunches and grand openings. The Civic Broadway Singers provide their own piano and sound system and will perform for groups of all sizes in exchange for a donation to the theatre. For scheduling the Civic Broadway Singers at your next event, please call Abby at (414) 350-8713 or e-mail her at AbbyLorenz@wi.rr.com. CIVIC SENIOR PLAYERS The Civic Senior Players are a dedicated group of Senior Citizens who have a craving to entertain others and who want to become skilled at it. The Players will devote time and energy to becoming actors. There is no charge to the seniors participating. This entertainment will be provided at no charge to any senior organization or residence, and the only requirement is an audience of at least 20 who would enjoy some laughs and a good time. Donations to WCT are accepted. If you would like more information, call Carol at (262) 549-1091 or e-mail her at wctplayers@wi.rr.com. ACAP PLAYMAKERS provide daytime performances (often of original works) based upon school curricula, themes, and ideas relevant to children at various stages of their education. The fall PlayMakers production is geared to our elementary students, and the spring production is produced for middle school students. While offered primarily to school groups, these family-

friendly shows are great for public, private, and home school groups, Boy and Girl Scout troops, senior centers, and your family! Please call (262) 5470708 for ticket prices and information. PlayMakers rehearse and perform in the daytime, and are always looking for new actors and technical personnel. ACCESSIBILITY The Margaret Brate Bryant Civic Theatre Building is fully handicapped-accessible, and WCT is proud to offer a number of services for our patrons who have special needs (a four-week notice is required and services are based upon availability). For the hearing impaired we have a T-Coil Loop System, T-Coil Listening Devices, and FM listening devices that will amplify the sounds of the performance. Patrons must have hearing aids with telecoils installed and activated to use the Loop System. Patrons who are blind can receive audio descriptive services for the performance. Wheelchair accessibility is available in two forms: transfer seats and wheelchair positions. PATRONS Please refrain from wearing highly-scented colognes, perfumes, hand cream, or aftershave to performances, as many people have allergies or respiratory problems. WCT is concerned for all patrons and we appreciate your cooperation. PARKING Parking is available on Main Street, in the Riverfront Plaza parking area behind the Theatre, off Barstow Street, in the parking facility on Broadway, and at other locations in downtown Waukesha. REMINDER As a courtesy to those who arrive on time, Latecomers will be seated at First Break!
