BIOGR APHIES ADAM BROWN, (Peter), 3rd year BFA/Acting. Theatre School credits include Story Theatre, The Lady in the Van, Antigone, The Secret Garden, Language of Angels, and Hedda Gabler. Regional credits include A Christmas Carol (Actors Theatre of Louisville), The Tempest (Old Globe, San Diego), Young American Shakespeare Festival (Walden Theatre). Produced and appeared in the 2009 Walden Theatre Alumni Company Summer Festival (Art, Betrayal, The Pavilion). GEMMA CLARKE, (Dr. Wink), 3rd year BFA/Acting. Originally from Seattle, Washington. Gemma was last seen in Much Ado About Nothing as Hero. Previously at The Theatre School she has been seen in The Bacchae, Antigone, Lady in the Van, and Story Theatre. BRIAN E. CRAWFORD, (Mr. Pinkerton), 2nd year MFA/Acting. Brian was last seen as Leonato in Much Ado About Nothing. He hails from Philadelphia and Atlanta, where he served as a Core Company Member of Out of Hand Theater. With Out of Hand Brian participated in the creation and performance of over ten projects, including the U.S. Permier Schreibstuck and the company generated work, Homonid (later remounted with the Netherlands based Lunatics). Other credits include work as a guest artist for 7 Stages, Actor’s Express, Theatre Emory, GA Ensemble and The Alliance Theatre. Brian holds a B.A. in Theatre Studies from Emory University and is the 2004 recipient of the Louis B. Sulder Prize in the Arts. BRITTANI A. GREEN, (Mrs. Pinkerton), 4th year BFA/Acting. Brittani was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. She was last seen on the Merle Reskin stage as Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing, directed by Catherine Weidner. B I O G R A P H I E S ( c o n t .) by Karen Zacarías and Debbie Wicks La Puma and The Highest Heaven by José Cruz González. MARK ELLIOTT, (Musical Director) Adjunct Professor of Musical Theatre. Mark has provided musical direction for over one hundred productions. He has worked for the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Center Theatre, Candlelight Dinner Playhouse, Roosevelt University, Fox Theatricals, Centerlight Theatre, and Appletree Theatre, among others. He has composed original scores and incidental music for over sixty productions, including the Off-Broadway production of Sophie, Totie and Belle and Fair City, commissioned by Roosevelt University. A series of harp pieces, Rhyme Or Treason, is published by Lyon & Healy. KEITH ELLIOTT (Choreographer). Keith Elliott was a dancer for 10 years with the Joseph Holmes Chicago Dance Theatre. He attended Culver-Stockton College and Illinois State University while majoring in Speech Communication and Theatre Education. Most recently, Keith graduated from Northeastern Illinois University with a degree in Arts Management. As creator/producer of Chicago’s highly acclaimed Dance for Life event now in its 20th year, Keith received the Ruth Page Award for “Outstanding Contribution to the Dance Community.” Additionally, Keith has been awarded and recognized by STOP AIDS Chicago, Howard Brown Health Center, AIDS Foundation of Chicago, Alexian Brothers AIDS Ministry, AIDS Legal Council of Chicago and by Arts Alliance Illinois all for his commitment to help those in need and his efforts to fight HIV/AIDS. In 2001, Chicago Mayor, Richard M. Daley, inducted Keith into the Chicago Hall of Fame for his dedication to helping those in need. In September of 2004, Mr. Elliott was once again awarded the Ruth Page Award for his continued effort to unify the dance community in service to the AIDS community. He was honored by the 2006 Gay Games as one of the 100 Champions in Chicago for his efforts to help promote dance. In 2007, Keith was awarded “Chicagoan of the Year.” This honor, presented by Chicago Magazine, 6 DePaul University
focused on his Chicago philanthropic endeavors and for his efforts to fund an African school in Zambia to further their HIV/AIDS educational programs. BRITTANY SQUIER, (Dramaturg) 3rd year BFA/Dramaturgy. Her previous work includes Assistant Dramaturg on 1001 by Jason Grote, as well as Dramaturg on After the End by Dennis Kelly, Crave by Sarah Kane, Language of Angels by Naomi Iizuka, and Cabaret by Frank Masteroff. She is also the editor of The Theatre School at DePaul University’s Dramaturgy and Criticism Program’s blog which can be viewed at ttsdramaturgyblog.wordpress.com. VANNESSA FUSI-HOBLIT, (Scenic Designer) 4th year BFA/Scenic Design. Vannessa hails from Modesto, California, where this past summer she Scenic Charged The Music Man for Yes Company at the Gallo Performing Arts Center. Her Theatre School scenic design credits include Cyrano de Bergerac, The Three Musketeers, and Pinkalicious. Vannessa’s other focus at The Theatre School is Scenic Artistry, where she has charged Holes and Iphigenia 2.0. GRETA WHITE, (Costume Designer) 3rd year BFA/Costume Design. NOAH HAYMAN, (Lighting Designer) 4th year BFA/Lighting Design. Noah’s past design credits include 1001 and Romeo and Juliet at The Theatre School, The Exonerated (Medill Innocence Project) Four Women (Low Slung Productions) and The Last Five Years (Northwestern University). Noah has designed concert productions for Alchemy AVCS (Aspen, CO) and is a certified arena rigger. MIKE ROSS, (Sound Designer) 4th year BFA/Sound Design. The Theatre School credits include sound designs for The Pillowman (2009), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (2010), and The Civic (2010) and audio engineer for Cabaret (2010) and Urinetown (2009). Mike is also employed as the Assistant Sound Supervisor of the Merle Reskin Theatre. BRENT BEAVERS, (Stage Manager) 3rd Year BFA/Stage Management. At DePaul, Brent has stage managed The Sugar Wife, The Pillowman and Much Ado About Nothing. He has assistant stage managed Iphigenia 2.0, Flow My Tears, The Policeman Said and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Brent was also the dance captain for Haroun and the Sea of Stories and assistant choreographer on Cabaret. He has been an assistant stage manager with DePaul Opera Theatre and Cock and Bull Theatre and an intern at The Old Globe inSan Diego on the new musical Robin and the Seven Hoods. VICTORIA KANN (Co-author, Illustrator, Co-adaptor) is the co-author and illustrator of the Pinkalicious book series as well as co-adaptor of Pinkalicious, The Musical. Her collage, mixed media and computer illustrations have been commissioned for magazines, newspapers, book covers, textbooks, advertising, packaging, greeting cards, and the internet. She is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design and teaches Collage Illustration at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. The character of Pinkalicious is inspired by Victoria’s daughters who are also very much in love with all things pink. ELIZABETH KANN (Co-author, Coadaptor) is co-author of Pinkalicious and Purplicious as well as co-adaptor of Pinkalicious, the Musical. She has written for various publications. Elizabeth lives in Pennsylvania with her husband and
three children. She and her husband are both doctors. JOHN GREGOR (Composer & Lyricist) received a 2004 Frederick Loewe Reading for his musical With Glee, for which he wrote the book, music and lyrics. Recently, With Glee was presented in a workshop by the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts, NYU and will be seen this fall at the New York Musical Theater Festival. His musical adaptation of Gogol’s tragicomic short story The Overcoat has been presented in London at the Bridewell Theatre, Barrington Stage Company and The New York International Fringe Festival. He has also co-written several children’s musicals for the Vital Theatre Company, including The Changeling and The Bully. John Gregor holds an MFA in musical theatre writing from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and a degree in musical theatre from Emerson College. JOHN CULBERT (Dean). In Chicago, John has designed scenery and/or lighting for the Buckingham Fountain, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Garfield Conservatory, Chicago Park District, Field Museum of Natural History, Goodman Theatre, Northlight Theatre, Lookingglass Theatre, Drury Lane Theatre, Chicago Children’s Theatre, Chicago Opera Theatre and more than thirty productions at Court Theatre. At the Court Theatre, he received several Joseph Jefferson nominations and a Jeff Award for The Triumph Of Love. Other Chicago productions include Regina for the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Hughie for the Goodman Theatre, Glass Menagerie, Man Of La Mancha for Court Theatre and A Year With Frog And Toad for Chicago Children’s Theatre. John has designed scenery and/or lighting for the Boston Lyric Opera, St. Louis Opera, Baton Rouge Opera, Southern Repertory, Cleveland Orchestra, McCarter Theatre and Bristol Riverside Theatre. At The Theatre School he has designed productions of The Misanthrope, Streetcar Named Desire, The Rose Tattoo, The Women, The Snow Queen, Rip Van Winkle and Stage Door.

Chicago Playworks for Families and Young Audiences Chicago Playworks offers a live theatre experience to students, teachers and parents in the Chicago metropolitan area. It is our mission to provide theatre for children that reflects their experiences in a contemporary, multi-ethnic, urban environment. Founded as the Goodman Children’s Theatre in 1925, Chicago Playworks is the city’s oldest continuously operating children’s theatre. It has been the first theatre experience for audiences of Chicago’s young people for more than seven decades and was one of the first major theatres for children in the United States. In 1997 and again in 2003, Chicago Playworks was honored by the Illinois Theatre Association with the Children’s Theatre Division Award, for its outstanding long-term contribution to children’s theatre. In 1980, Chicago Playworks was awarded the prestigious Sara Spencer Award by the Children’s Theatre Association of America (now the American Alliance for Theatre and Education). Chicago Playworks is a vital aspect of the training at The Theatre School at DePaul University. Students gain pre-professional experience in an extended run before a most demanding and appreciative audience. Chicago Playworks presents three unique productions to more than 35,000 young people each season and has entertained more than 1 million schoolchildren and families since 1925. The Theatre School Showcase Contemporary Plays and Classics Presenting diverse and exciting productions, The Theatre School Showcase blends imagination and cultural impact with three plays, and rounds-out the season with a fourth production featuring the graduating MFA in Acting candidates. The Theatre School Showcase offers a unique opportunity to see tomorrow’s industry leaders today, by introducing the raw creativity and dedicated collaborations of artists at the beginning of their careers. Their work is powerful, imaginative, and new. Merle Reskin Theatre Celebrating a century of performances this season, the Merle Reskin Theatre, built as the Blackstone Theatre in 1910, was designed by Chicago architects Marshall & Fox. The stone façade and mansard roof of the Beaux-Arts style building have been modified only slightly over the years. The interior finish of French walnut and gold was designed by Plamondon & Tetze to give the appearance of a European opera house. Prior to DePaul’s purchase of the theatre in 1988, it had been home to vaudeville, the Federal Theatre Project and the touring productions of the Shubert Organization. The Theatre School brings an audience of more than 35,000 people to the theatre each season. 8 DePaul University

Patrons with electronic pagers or cellular telephones are asked to either turn off their equipment in the theatre or check them with the House Manager prior to curtain. We discourage text messaging during the performance. The light from the screen can bother other patrons. We allow photographs to be taken before and after but never during the performance. You may also check cameras and recording equipment with the House Manager who will secure them until final curtain. As a special favor, we ask that young people do not chew gum. Water fountains are located in the lower lobby and in the lobbies of the mezzanine and balcony. RESTROOMS Restrooms are located in the lower lobby, the mezzanine, and balcony. An accessible restroom is located on the main floor inside of the theatre. LOST AND FOUND If you find an item or have lost an item, please contact the House Manager.
