C O M PA N Y B I O S LARRY BALDACCI (Larry) is excited to be working at Griffin Theatre for the first time. Recent Chicago productions include The Farnsworth Invention (TimeLine Theatre), Democracy (Eclipse Theatre), Pangs of the Messiah (Silk Road Theatre), The Mark of Zorro (Lifeline Theatre) and 1776 (Signal Ensemble). Larry is a two-time Non-Equity Jeff nominee: for his acting in The Assignment with Absolute Theatre and for his direction of She Loves Me with SCT. Larry is a founding member of The Free Readers Ensemble, a readers theatre company celebrating its 18th season. Thanks to Jonathan...at last! And much love to Ray. ALLISON CAIN (Joanne) is thrilled to work with Jonathan Berry and the people at Griffin for her first time. She received her training at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA and Columbia College in Chicago and has worked almost exclusively on new work since 1990, in Los Angeles, Connecticut, Scotland and Chicago. As an actor, she has performed in numerous shows in Chicago since 1992. Most recently, you may have seen her in Dead Wrong at the Factory Theater, The Artist Needs a Wife at The Side Project and Cherrywood at Mary Arrchie Theater. She has been a proud ensemble member of the Factory Theater since 2000 where she also served as Executive Director from 2001-2007. Most recently, she successfully made the leap to a full time job in not-for-profit theater and is serving as the Managing Director for Lifeline Theatre in Rogers Park where she can remain committed to the production of new works. Previously, Allison also served as the Artistic Director of Studio 108 from (1991 – 1996). SAMANTHA DUBINA (April) is thrilled to be making her Griffin Theatre debut. She was last seen in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Olive
Ostrovsky) both at Timber Lake Playhouse and Noble Fool Theatricals. In the spring, Sam can be seen playing Violet Beauregarde in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with Emerald City Theatre. Other Chicago land credits include The Taffetas (Noble Fool Theatricals), Alice in Wonderland, Pippi Longstocking and The Bernstein Bears (Northbrook Theatre for Young Audiences), Out of Order (Metropolis Performing Arts Centre), The Christmas Schooner (Bailiwick Repertory) and over 20 productions with Timber Lake Playhouse(All Shook Up, The Producers, Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story). Sam is proud to be an Artistic Associate of Bailiwick Chicago and holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Western Illinois University. PAUL FAGEN (David) is honored to work with Jonathan Berry and the rest of the Company cast, marking his first show with Griffin Theatre. He most recently reprised his role of Father Toulon with the remounted production of Red Noses at Strawdog Theatre, where he is a proud ensemble member. Earlier this spring, he joined the Strawdog folks for their production of Brecht’s The Good Soul of Szechuan. Favorite Chicago credits include Pistache in Circle Theatre’s Can-Can (Non-Equity Jeff Award) and most recently Carrie in Light Opera Works’ Carousel. Regionally she performed several consecutive seasons with Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre, and last year spent a contract at sea aboard the Disney Wonder Cruise ship as several singing princesses. Elizabeth holds a BM in Vocal Performance from Illinois Wesleyan University; love and thanks to family and friends for their endless support. TREY MACLIN (Harry) is a member of Chicago’s TUTA Theater Company, Trey was last seen as “Nic” in the Slimtech production of Pinter’s One For The Road. Prior to that: The Groom in Brecht’s The Wedding and Vanya in Uncle Vanya, both extended by popular demand with TUTA. He can occasionally be seen in various bars playing guitar and singing, and is excited to be involved with this, his first Griffin production. He’d like to offer his thanks to Robin for her patience, love and support, and to Julia for standing in as his agent, if only for the one night. This winter he will return to The Hypocrites to play the Pirate King in their production of The Pirates of Penzance. DARCI NALEPA (Amy) is thrilled to be working with Griffin for the first time. ALLISON KANE (Music Direction) is thrilled to be working on her first show with Griffin, and even more so to be back at it in Chi-town. For the last 15 months Allison spent time in NYC and was honored to work on the Broadway Revival of Finian’s Rainbow and the Broadway hit Rock of Ages as an assistant orchestrator and copy editor. She also music directed the first concert reading of Ewalt & Walker’s upcoming musical Bromance and most recently appeared Off-Broadway as “Celeste” in the long running hit Tony ‘n’ Tina’s Wedding. Allison is also the keyboardist for Broadway veteran Kathy Deitch’s Heart cover band All Heart. Favorite shows as a music director/arranger in Chicago include Urinetown (University of Chicago University Theatre); Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Can-Can (Circle); Bye Bye Liver (Pub Theatre); Monday Night’s New Voices: Chicago (Andrew Lippa; Brian Mazzaferri); Barenaked Lads (Bailiwick: Chicago, Dublin, and Provincetown); Blue Nativity, Pinocchio, The Drunkard (Quest). Erin is the Founder and Creative Director of The Open Space Project, a grassroots organization providing performance opportunities in a social environment for emerging and growing Chicago based choreographers. Kilmurray’s theatrical choreography has recently been seen in The Inconvenience’s production of Chicagoland, directed by Ike Holter, at The Chopin Theater & Mary Arrchie’s Abbie Fest 2010. CHRISTOPHER N. TISONE (Production Manager) has been active in the Chicago theatre arena for over twenty years working as a freelance stage manager, director, producer, actor, and designer. Chris is thrilled to be collaborating with The Griffin Theatre Company, again, after design work on Sleeping Ugly: The Musical, The Constant Wife, and The Robber Bridegroom and previous involvement in The Griffin’s Touring Theatre Program. Chris holds a BA from Columbia College Chicago, in Performing Arts Management and has been a proud member of Actor’s Equity Association since 2007.
JON RAVENSCROFT (Stage Manager) is excited to be working with the Griffin for the first time, and on one of his favorite musicals. Other Chicago credits include work with Hypatia Theatre Company, Dog & Pony Theatre Co.,Chicago Children’s Theatre, The Sweat Girls, Lifeline Theatre, Caffeine Theatre, Theatre 7 of Chicago, Strawdog Theatre Company, Steep Theatre and this year’s Fillet of Solo Festival at Lifeline and Live Bait Theater. Jon has a BFA in Theatre Arts and a double major in English from the Theatre School at DePaul University. William Massolia (Artistic Director) is a founding member of the Griffin Theatre Company. He is the author of over 30 plays and adaptations including, Be More Chill, Little Brother, Stardust, Loving Little Egypt, Shakespeare’s Dog, Ash Can Alley, and The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales. His play Letters Home recently completed a 17 city National Tour of North America and his children’s play, Frindle was presented in 22 US cities in the 2009/2010 season. Massolia is a 7-time Joseph Jefferson Award nominee for his work as a playwright. A graduate of Southern Illinois University, Mr. Massolia is a past member of the League of Chicago Theatres Board of Directors, a recipient of an IAC Playwriting Fellowship Award and currently sits on the theatre advisory panel for the Illinois Arts Council. Richard Barletta (Artistic Director) is a founding member of the Griffin Theatre Company. In his almost 30 years of theatre he’s directed over 125 productions, many of these with the Griffin. Some of his favorites would include: Much Ado About Nothing, Twelfth Night, All The Way Home, Ah, Wilderness!, Shake Your Groove Thing, Shakespeare’s Dog, Ash Can Alley, Henry and the Second Gunman, A Night in Mantua, The Whipping Boy, There’s a Boy in the Girls’ Bathroom, Frindle, There’s a Girl in my Hammerlock and Angus, Thongs and Full Frontal Snogging, for which he received a Joseph Jefferson Award nomination for direction. Richard holds an MFA in Directing from the Goodman School of Drama and a BS in theatre from the University of Evansville. In addition he has directed productions at the Theatre School, DePaul University and Loyola University in Chicago. Vision Stage 773 operates a multi-theatre performing arts venue that serves our community through the arts – both Chicago artists and the public who visit us. We strive to offer support to artists as they develop their voices and talents. We provide rehearsal and performance space, our knowledge and experience, and a nurturing environment to help actors, directors, designers, writers and other artists reach their potential. We will remain true to our storefront roots, offering our audiences the best possible theatre experience at low ticket prices. Our patrons will be an extension of our family, receiving the same warm welcome and respect we offer our artists.
