A B O U T T H E J E F F AWA R D S The Jeff Awards has been honoring outstanding theatre artists annually since it was established in 1968. With up to 50 members representing a wide variety of backgrounds in theatre, the Jeff Awards is committed to celebrating the vitality of Chicago area theatre by recognizing excellence through its recommendations, awards, and honors. The Jeff Awards fosters the artistic growth of area theatres and theatre artists and promotes educational opportunities, audience appreciation, and civic pride in the achievements of the theatre community. The Jeff Awards evaluates over 250 theatrical productions and holds two awards ceremonies annually. Originally chartered to recognize only Equity productions, the Jeff Awards established the Non-Equity Wing in 1973 to celebrate outstanding achievement in non-union theatre. The next Equity Awards Ceremony, honoring productions presented under union contracts, will be held on Monday, November 7, 2011, at the Drury Lane in Oakbrook Terrace. In its 38th season honoring Non-Equity theatre, April 1, 2010 – March 31, 2011, the committee judged 146 productions from these 62 producing organizations: 2010-2011 NON-EQUITY WING PRODUCING ORGANIZATIONS Babes with Blades BackStage Theatre Company Bailiwick Chicago Bohemian Theatre Ensemble Bruised Orange Theater Company Caffeine Theatre Chemically Imbalanced Comedy Chicago DCA Theater, Caffeine Theatre and Chicago Opera Vanguard Chicago Opera Vanguard Circle Theatre City Lit Theater Company Collaboraction Theatre Company Corn Productions Dog & Pony Theatre Company Dog & Pony Theatre Company i/a/w Chicago DCA Theater Dream Theatre Company Eclipse Theatre Company eta Creative Arts Foundation The Factory Theater Griffin Theatre Company Halcyon Theatre Hell in a Handbag Productions The House Theatre of Chicago Hubris Productions The Hypocrites Idle Muse Theatre Company Infamous Commonwealth Theatre La Costa Theatre Company La Costa Theatre Company w/ On the Spot Theatre Lifeline Theatre Lincoln Square Theatre LiveWire Chicago Theatre 6 2010-2011 Non-Equity Wing Awards
