M I C H A E L’ S C O R N E R Home for the Holidays… It’s not too early to think about the holiday season and your entertainment opportunities. For the first time, the OAC has added a holiday cabaret event, I Got Yule Babe as part of our popular Cabaret Café Series. Two evenings of festive, witty and slightly irreverent musical fun on December 7th & 8th, capped off with Chef Brian’s dinner entrees and luscious desserts. Pat McCurdy, Russian Folk and T’is round out this year’s cabaret series, all in the comfort and intimate setting of the Little Theater and featuring the Chef’s extraordinary menu. Get your tickets early, though, last year’s series sold out quickly and tickets for this year are going fast; group sales for parties available. Check out our web site at www.theoac.net for more information and menu options. The Bonsai People… Our final film series offering is The Bonsai People: the Vision of Muhammad Yunus on January 18 at 7:30 pm. This fascinating documentary focuses on the philosophies and social businesses of Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus and his Grameen Bank. This film is about empowerment, responsibility and social justice in some of the world’s poorest regions. Director/film maker Holly Mosher will be on hand to host a Q & A immediately following the film. The film will be presented in the Little Theater. Michael Duncan, Director Oconomowoc Arts Center Get on our email newsletter list or check out the web site at www.theoac.net for further information.

“Midsummer Night McGivern,”“John McGivern’s Home for the Holidays,” and “Summer Stories with John McGivern” weave nostalgic tales of being the third born of six kids in a working-class Irish Catholic family in the Midwest. His newest venture, “Around the Corner with John McGivern” is a new Milwaukee Public Television series that takes McGivern to 13 different towns and neighborhoods around Southeastern Wisconsin. From Sheboygan to Racine and Burlington to Brady Street, McGivern capitalizes on his light-hearted demeanor to convey the delights he discovers while exploring these hometowns and neighborhoods.

For the John McGivern show this evening, the Oconomowoc Rotary will be the recipient of the Community Initiative Partner program. For every ticket sold, $2 will go back to the Rotary as a fund raiser. The Rotary will have a table set up in the lobby this evening.
