A F E W S H O R T WO R D S F R O M T H E A R T I S T I C D I R E C TO R Happy holidays, everyone! Welcome to HELLO, DOLLY!, one of the great American musical comedies. It’s such a pleasure to return to DOLLY and present it to you, since it was one of the first shows that I was involved with as a young dancer. I’m happy to welcome back to Light Opera Works my dear friend of 30 years, Mary Robin Roth; hello, Dolly, it’s so nice to have you back where you belong! It’s great too having Peter Verdico back on our boards joining her as that well-known half-a-millionaire, Horace Vandergelder. As always, when working on a musical or operetta from a bygone era, all the actors and I strive together to create something wonderful, funny and truthful—and in this case, to honor the great tradition of the original HELLO, DOLLY! director and choreographer, the masterful Gower Champion. Enjoy! Rudy Hogenmiller Artistic Director
