Performing Arts NSAA Stagekids Present ELF THE MUSICAL JR. at the Cedarburg Performing Arts Center (CPAC)!*
Based on the beloved holiday film, this hilarious fishout-of-water comedy follows Buddy the Elf in his quest to find his true identity. At least 25 roles available! Age Group: Kids through 9th Grade (as of September 2018). We do prefer that children gain some theater experience through our Jr. Stagekids program. Auditions: August 7th at 5:30 pm (Must register in advance to get an audition/parent packet. EVERYONE who registers will be in the show. Auditions are only to see what the best character fit for you would be.) Audition Material: Will be given out shortly after you register. (The earlier you register, the more time you will have to prepare.) Rehearsal Location: NSAA, 1111 Broad Street, Grafton Rehearsals: Tuesdays 5:30 to 7:30 at NSAA with rehearsals picking up closer to the show date. (Schedule provided once you register). We want dedicated actors who are able to be there for most rehearsals. Please plan ahead! Cost: Roughly $5 per hour per child (please compare this cost per hour to other programs) Between auditions, rehearsals, tech week and shows, your child will be putting in about 75 hours of staff supervised time throughout the entire process. Tuition: $375 (may be broken up into two payments with $187 due now and $188 due prior to auditioning on August 7th). Keep in mind that this is a five month program put on by the longest standing children’s theater company in Ozaukee County. 3D Glee
Target age: 6-10 In this class students will be encouraged to think outside of the proverbial box (and possibly USE an actual cardboard box!) to create a multitude of 3-dimensional art pieces. Texture will be the main focus as students engage their minds and hands while using clay, paper mache, fabric and various up-cycled materials to create colorful, fun projects. All materials provided. Please send students to class with an art smock or apron, and note that each 6 week session will feature repeating projects. Exploring Eco Printing on Fabric for Adults
Target ages: 18+ years old Eco Printing is contact printing plants onto fabric. This workshop is for anyone that is interested in learning this interesting and creative textile technique using leaves from your garden and/or local florist. You will learn the tools, safety, equipment and bundling techniques that will get you started in this exciting media. For this class we will be using protein fibers (Silk scarves). Each student will create two 14X70 silk scarves using two different processing techniques. I will email registrants a list of common supplies to bring to the workshop. Target age: all ages depending on instructor’s advice NSAA has an excellent team of instructors qualified to teach private lessons. One on one instruction is offered in the following areas: piano (beginning piano and also advanced piano theory), violin, guitar, voice, performance, acting, auditioning, percussion, art, composition, private music exploration, music theory, yoga & dance. Dance Classes Starting Monday nights staring September 10th for Ballet and Jazz classes! Schedule is as follows. Ballet 1 (ages 3-4) 3:30-4:00 Have fun learning the basic steps of ballet with imagination! Ballet 2 (ages 6-7) 4:45-5:30 Continue to learn the basics ballet with more steps introduced in a fun creative way. Ballet 4 (6:30- 7:30) Continuing in the next level in ballet Students learn more complex steps, artistry, musicality and classical repertoire. Beginning Jazz (ages 7+) 4:00-4:45 Learn the first steps of Jazz dance with fun and exciting music! Ballet 3 (ages 9-10) 5:30-6:30 Mid-level ballet class with a continuing in technique with a focus in musicality. Pre Pointe 7:30-8:00 (For ballet 4 students only) For dancers who are interested in wearing pointe shoes . Adult Ballet Class (No previous experience required.) Zumba! Zumba
Target Age: Teen/Adult Come join the fitness party! Everybody is welcome. No dance or group fitness experience is needed. Zumba is a total workout, combining elements of fitness-cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility. Every class feels like a celebration! The Arts Mill
The Arts Mill is situated in the historic Grafton Mill and houses more than sixteen artists’ studios. These working studios (located on the 2nd floor) are nestled around a central boutique which features a variety of unique items from local and regional artists. Our gallery on the third floor features rotating gallery exhibitions as well as is home to yoga and other healing arts. There are rental opportunities for events and private parties on our beautifully renovated 3rd floor. For more information on leasing studio space, displaying your merchandise in our boutique or renting our room for your next party, please contact Paula DeStefanis at paulac@ northshoreacademyofthearts.org. We work in collaboration with the North Shore Academy of the Arts, a non-profit organization (located in Grafton, WI) offering programming in the visual, literary and performing arts.
