D I R E C TO R ’ S N O T E Welcome to our 8th annual “Dance Into Spring!” Our students have worked through so many obstacles this year and have proven that they are unstoppable. We began our season by having our first-ever professionally recorded and produced winter show. The dancers came into the PAC for the first time together as a full class all season, and recorded take after take of their performances. We were able to make our show available for free to anyone who wanted to support the Dance Department. Our National Honor Society for Dance Arts will begin again for the 2021-22 school year. We encourage your dancer to apply before the end of the school year for induction in the fall. Students inducted are prime examples of academic excellence, superb moral character, dedication to their dance education, and serving the local arts community. Tonight, we present to you 21 different works in numerous styles of dance. This is always our biggest show of the year, and it demonstrates the students’ versatility and dedication to the art of dance. I am eternally proud of every single student, as this was the most challenging year they’ve experienced and they had to adapt very quickly to new learning styles. We also welcomed both new and returning adjunct faculty members Rae Matson, Lexi Olander, Imani Jalil, and Anna Haney. We are so honored to have them share their experience and passion with us, and I appreciate their investment in our students and their commitment to Pius XI. A note of special thanks to the Pius Parent Producers who have so graciously donated their time and talents to our students and department. We are very lucky and fortunate to have had any events at all this season, and we appreciate their tireless efforts. As this year comes to a close, we would like to also acknowledge our parents for their dedication to our dancers. Without your support of the department and your dancer, none of this would be possible. Thank you for your continued support of our program!
