A M E S S AG E F R O M A R T I S T I C D I R E C TO R - B I L L T H E I S E N Welcome to the 15th production in our Skylight Studio Theatre series. We began back in 2005 and I am happy to say that these intimate shows have become an important part of each SMT season. The opportunity to bring you works that are perfectly suited to this 99-seat theatre have helped Skylight Music Theatre broaden our mission statement goal of presenting the full spectrum of musical theatre and opera. And with Sing Me a Story you are really in for a treat- two of Milwaukee’s favorite cabaret performers bringing their one-of-a-kind collaborations to the Studio Theatre. I have known Kay and Jack for a very long time and we have been trying to coordinate our schedules to make this happen for a few years and I cannot tell you how pleased I am that Sing Me a Story will be the final Studio Theatre production during my tenure as artistic director. What these two amazing artists, as well as Stage Director Ray Jivoff, have created is a series of songs- each practically a one-act play that combine to encompass an amazing entertainment that is truly unique and masterfully performed. Thank you for supporting the Skylight and please enjoy the show. A M E S S AG E F R O M T H E M A N AG I N G D I R E C TO R - A M Y S . J E N S E N Welcome to Skylight Music Theatre and our Studio Theatre production of Sing Me a Story featuring Kay Stiefel and Jack Forbes Wilson. We are so happy to welcome them back to Skylight with their own special blend of song and story. I’ve never been one to send out fan letters, but I have to say that I was inspired to send them both notes of my appreciation several years ago after spending a lovely, musical evening in their company at one of their cabaret shows. Their show tonight is sure to put a smile on your face and more than a few tunes in your head. We are so pleased that our Studio Theatre shows have become such an integral part of our seasons. We would not be able to create these productions in the Studio Theatre without the support and dedication of many of our artistic and production staff who create these shows alongside the main stage Cabot productions. I would especially like to thank the creative team for Sing Me a Story which includes director Ray Jivoff, set designer Lisa Schlenker, costume director Shima Orans, sound director Gary Ellis and lighting designer Ryan Bertelsen. In March, we announced our 2013-2014 season with incoming artistic director Viswa Subbaraman and have been utterly delighted by the interest and excitement it has generated. For those of you who have already renewed your subscription, we thank you so much for your continued support of Skylight! If you haven’t yet subscribed, please remember that you can now include these Studio Theatre performances by “Plus” sizing your subscription package. Thank you for making your night sing by joining us this evening!
