Biographies Solaire Quartet was formed in 2009 and its members represent a wide range of musical backgrounds. Each member is not only an active performing musician, but also a dedicated teacher. Members of Solaire Quartet have performed across the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia as soloists and with orchestras including the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Flint Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Civic Orchestra, Thessaloniki State Orchestra (Greece), Bruno Madera Orchestra (Italy), Tokyo Sinfonia Orchestra, and many others. This virtuosic saxophone ensemble presents a diverse spectrum of repertoire with a mission of bringing a culturally rich program to a wide variety of audiences. Otis Murphy (soprano saxophone) joined the faculty of the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music at the age of 28, becoming one of the youngest faculty members in its history, and where he is currently Associate Professor of Music. Mr. Murphy holds Doctor of Music and Master of Music degrees from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. Bachelor of Music Education degree, graduating Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Georgia. In addition, he pursued advanced studies in France under a Fulbright Fellowship for foreign study at the Conservatoire National RĂŠgional de Musique in Cergy-Pontoise, earning the Prix de Perfectionnement by a unanimous decision of the jury. Otis Murphy is a Yamaha Performing Artist and a Vandoren Performing Artist. Otis resides in Bloomington, Indiana with his wife, Haruko, and their five children. Paul Bro (guest, alto saxophone) has performed throughout the United States and Canada as well as in Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, Spain, Taiwan, and Thailand. He is a member of the Chicago Saxophone Quartet, the Bro-Fowler Duo, the Bro-Street Duo, and the Philharmonie Ă Vent. Bro is professor of music at Indiana State University. Bro received his Doctor of Music and Master of Music degrees from Northwestern University, where he studied with Frederick Hemke, and his Bachelor of Music degree from Iowa State University. Bro is a cofounder with William Street and Jean-Marie Londeix of the saxophone research website called SaxAmE.org (The Saxophone in America and Europe). He has served as Membership Director, First Vice President, President Elect, President, and Past-President of the North American Saxophone Alliance (NASA).

Samuel Fritz (tenor saxophone) is currently Director of Bands at Center Grove Middle School Central in Greenwood, Indiana. In that role, Mr. Fritz teaches grades 6-8 concert bands, pep band, jazz band, chamber music ensembles. He is a graduate of Indiana State University where he earned bachelor’s degrees in Music Education and Saxophone Performance. In 2001 Mr. Fritz received his master’s degree in Music Education from Bowling Green State University. While at BGSU, Mr. Fritz studied saxophone with Dr. John Sampen, and was a member of the Fischoff gold medal prize winning Lithium saxophone quartet. Mr. Fritz stays active as a saxophonist, premiering new solo and quartet works and recordings with the Terre Haute based Philharmonia à Vent and the Indiana State University Faculty Winds. Since 2004 Mr. Fritz has worked for MakeMusic as an Education Support Services Clinician for SmartMusic and Finale. During his time as a clinician, he has given presentations throughout the country on SmartMusic and Finale at state and national clinics, conferences and school district teacher in-services. Scotty Stepp (baritone saxophone) is on the faculty of Depauw University and the University of Indianapolis. During 2001-2003 Stepp was granted a Fulbright Fellowship and a Harriet Hale Wooley scholarship to study in Paris, France under the direction of acclaimed saxophonist Jean-Yves Fourmeau. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Illinois. Scotty completed a Master of Arts in Saxophone Performance at Bowling Green State University under the tutelage of Dr. John Sampen, and received his undergraduate degree from Indiana State University where he studied with Dr. Paul Bro. Mr. Stepp has performed throughout the United States, Europe, and China. Most notable are performances at the United States Embassy in Paris, France, selected performer at the German-American Fulbright Program’s 50th anniversary conference in Berlin, Germany, and performances in Greece, Cyprus, and Italy.

The WEpac (Wartmann Endowment for the Performing Arts Center) Board was established in 2003 by former Edgerton School District Superintendent Dr. Norman L. Fjelstad to work in accordance with the Wartmann Endowment to help the arts program in the Edgerton Community grow in perpetuity. The Wartmann Endowment for the Performing Arts Center also funds opportunities for students to engage with many of our Artists. All school assemblies and music clinics are often included during the week of the public performance. The Hunt Family
Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 7:30 PM $25/advance; $30/door The Hunt Family performs Celtic, Rock, Bluegrass, Inspirational, and original music, offering a unique blend of diversity at each show. In addition to fiddling and step dancing, this amazing family of nine also plays guitar, bass, keyboards, drums, and mandolin. The Hunts have toured around the United States and internationally. They have performed for Queen Elizabeth's royal welcoming, entertained audiences for three years on four main stages at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, made multiple appearances at the World Championships of Irish step dancing in Scotland and Ireland, and debuted on the Tony Danza show. Corky Siegel’s Chamber Blues with Megon McDonough Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 7:30 PM $25/advance; $30/door
Corky Siegel has earned an international reputation as one of the world's great blues harmonica masters. He is a composer, blues pianist, and singer/songwriter. Corky Siegel's career began with a fortunate break when he formed the legendary Siegel-Schwall Band that toured the major rock palaces and clubs in the 60's and 70's. He was introduced to the blues through his very first steady engagement at Peppers, the internationally renowned blues club, where his job included performances with the blues masters themselves. Corky Siegel's newest project, Chamber Blues with the West End String Quartet and Frank Donaldson on world percussion, blends classical and blues styles in a chamber music setting. http://www.chamberblues.com/ Megon McDonough is best known for her work as an inaugural member of The Four Bitchin Babes. She has performed on stages as varied as The Cellar Door and Carnegie Hall. She is an accomplished comedic actress having appeared in numerous theater productions including Pump Boys and Dinettes, Beehive, and a box office recordbreaking starring role in Always Patsy Cline. Folk lovers may remember a 17-year old McDonough opening in the 70’s for John Denver, Steve Martin, and Harry Chapin. But McDonough classifies her music as folk/cabaret. Born in Illinois, McDonough was one of nine theatrically inclined children. Her IrishCatholic parents both had careers in the performing arts. She wrote her first song at 11, and was inspired to play the guitar and sing after watching The Beatles on Ed Sullivan.
