Sunset Playhouse
Meet The Cast and Production Team BETH BLAND (Props Design) - A Sunset volunteer for twelve years, Beth believes that much of the fun of working behind the scenes is creating the “world” in which the actors move— whether it’s props, stage managing, costumes, lights and sound, or wielding a paintbrush. She has also appeared on stage, most recently as a strangler in THREE MURDERS AND IT’S ONLY MONDAY and Woman at Lemonade Stand in THE CUPCAKE KILLER. MATTHEW CARR (Set Design) - Matthew is happy to be in his third year at Sunset as Set Designer and Technical Director. He has enjoyed all his Playhouse experiences, especially working with the volunteers who help make these shows so wonderful. Matt is always looking forward to the next show and many more Sunset seasons. He would like to thank his wife and family for their love and support. ALLISON CHICOREL (Barbara Smith) - Allison’s Sunset Playhouse credits include DON'T DRESS FOR DINNER (Suzanne), MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET (Doris Walker), INHERIT THE WIND (Rachel Brown), and SIX DEGREES OF SEPARATION (Tess Kittredge). She works as the Managing Artistic Director at The Box Theatre Co. in Oconomowoc. A huge thanks to Brian and the Playhouse for providing her the opportunity to be on stage. Much love to Mom, Dad, Danny, and the baby dog. KATE DOMBROWSKI (Costume Design) - Kate is soooo happy to be back at Sunset after the depressing hiatus from live theater. She is also glad to be working, once again, with Brian and the members of a great cast and crew. The opportunity to create costumes for characters-what’s not to love?! HAL ERICKSON (Detective Sgt. Porterhouse) - Three years after appearing as Whiteside in THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER, Hal is electrified to return to the Sunset stage. His favorite roles include Grandpa (YOU CAN’T TAKE IT WITH YOU), Hannibal Hix (ANY NUMBER CAN DIE), Norman (ON GOLDEN POND), and Sidney
(DEATHTRAP). A shout-out to Joanne, Brian, Peter, Janel, Lorelai, and Calvin! RENÉE HARRIS (Stage Manager) - A senior at Rufus King High School, Renée is thrilled to be part of this production. Credits include A MURDER IS ANNOUNCED and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, as well as several Sunset School for the Arts productions. Renee wants to thank this cast and crew and everyone at Sunset for many amazing experiences! CORY KLEIN (Detective Sgt. Troughton) - Cory last appeared on this stage as Max in A COMEDY OF TENORS and Dr. Emmet in CURIOUS SAVAGE. He’s also been seen with Waukesha Civic Theatre in THE LANGUAGE ARCHIVE (Reston), for the Village Playhouse in LITTLE WOMEN (Mr. Lawrence, Mr. Bhaer, and narrator), and with the West Allis Players in JEKYLL AND HYDE (Stride). LYNN LUDWIG-FRANITZA (Props Design) - Lynn is excited to return to her backstage home at Sunset after a crazy year-and-ahalf away, and would like to thank her husband for putting up with her the entire time she was not doing shows. Lynne would also like to thank the Sunset staff for keeping everything running so she had a home to return to! JIM MALLMANN (Bobby Franklyn/Reporter) - Jim is excited to return to the Playhouse where he was last seen in THE CURIOUS SAVAGE (Samuel). Credits include work with SummerStage of Delafield on THE NERD (Warnock Waldgrave) and Waukesha Civic Theatre for both THE LARAMIE PROJECT (Dennis Shepard/ Stephen Mead Johnson/Harry Woods/others) and JAKE REVOLVER: FREELANCE SECRET AGENT (Narrator/Dashiel). JAN PRITZL (Sound Design) - Jan began his volunteer activities at Sunset in the summer of 1970. In the years since, he has been active in many aspects of the theater, including sound Run For Your Wife

Playhouse audiences may recognize him from A CHRISTMAS CAROL (Jacob Marley) and BOEING BOEING (Robert). Additional roles include Wilde Flack (DANCING WITH HAMLET, Windfall Theatre), Orson Welles/Pierson (WAR OF THE WORLDS, Kettle Moraine Playhouse), and Friar Lawrence (ROMEO AND JULIET, SummerStage of Delafield). PHIL STEPANSKI (John Smith) - Phil is delighted to return to the Sunset stage, where his favorite roles include Jerry in BETRAYAL, Charlie Baker in THE FOREIGNER, Axel Hammond in THE NERD, Billy Bibbit in ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST, Cole Porter in RED, HOT, AND COLE, and Moonlight in LUMBERJACKS IN LOVE. While Dana loves performing, she’s happy to be back here working behind the scenes with her awesome counterpart, Renée. Huge thanks to her family at home and at Sunset! TANYA TRANBERG (Mary Smith) - Tanya is thrilled to return to the Sunset stage, where she has appeared in A COMEDY OF TENORS, A MURDER IS ANNOUNCED, and THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER.
