Scott Allen (Tom Allen) Scott has recently played villains at WCT in And Then There Were None and Arsenic and Old Lace. Scott proclaims in this show “No villain!” Outside of acting Scott is a sales director for Shorewest Realtors, a business coach, and an author. His favorite roles, however, are father of Christine and Ellie, husband of Angila, and child of God. Dylan Baxter (Zack) Dylan has performed in productions at the Milwaukee Chamber Theatre and with the West End Players of Waukesha West High School.

Recent roles include Cato in The Pink Panther, Kilroy in Don’t Drink the Water and the demented Mr. Blackwood in The Tell-Tale Heart. Dylan is the son of Mike and Melissa Baxter and is a junior at Waukesha West.

Sallie Burkard (Costume Designer) Sallie is thrilled to be costuming another show for WCT. She has previously designed Candy Cane Tales, Seussical, HONK!, and most recently - Willy Wonka. Thanks to John for the

Allison Chicorel (Virginia Lamson) Allison’s stage credits include Bye Bye Birdie (Kim MacAfee), Annie (Lily St. Regis), Little Shop of Horrors (Ronette), Company (Marta), and Lysistrata (Myrrhine). Previous WCT productions include I Love, You You’re Perfect, Now Change, Malt Shop Memories, Shake Rattle & Roll, and 42nd Street. “Enjoy The Tavern! XOXO” John Cramer (Director) John has performed, directed, and choreographed at theatres throughout the Midwest. His favorite roles are Matthew in Cotton Patch Gospel and Harold in The Music Man. He is currently the Managing Artistic Director at WCT and lives in Waukesha with his beautiful wife Kelli, and their two amazing children, Elena and Jude.

James Donaldson (Vagabond) Jim is glad to finally work with John Cramer again after last doing so eight years ago in On Golden Pond. Recently, he’s been in Cannibal the Musical, Twelfth Night, and The Underpants. Jim is very thankful to be working with such a wonderful cast on such a fascinating play.

Scott Fudali (Lighting Designer) Scott has been designing lights for both Carroll University and WCT for a number of years now when not keeping the network running for the University. Some of his favorite designs have included Sweet Charity and Dead Man Walking at Carroll as well as The Music Man and 42nd Street at WCT. He hopes you enjoy the show, and he would like to thank his girlfriend and parents for their continued support in all his theatre endeavors.

Jacqueline Gosz (Violet) Jacqueline is a computer programmer and statistician.

She is grateful to have the opportunity to unleash her creative side once again at Waukesha Civic Theatre. She thanks her angels, both here and above, for their unending love and support.

Jon Jones (Joshua) Jon is happy to be back onstage at WCT, acting, singing and dancing (without the singing and dancing). It sure feels like home in a show with James, Jamie, Jaclyn, Jacqueline, John, John, and Jon, directed by John. As always, for Karen and the girls.

Jacalyn Nolan (Sally) Jacalyn is a college student at UW Waukesha and recently performed in their recent shows The Short Tree and The Bird that Couldn’t Sing (as Short Tree) and Columbinus (as Perfect). She gives her love to her family and friends.

John Pfannerstill (Governor Lamson) John is excited to be back on stage for his first Waukesha Civic Theatre appearance since he portrayed Teddy in Arsenic and Old Lace in 2007. John and his beautiful wife Lori are the proud grandparents of three amazing grandchildren, Aiden, Charlie, and Audrey.

Sandra Renick (Mrs. Lamson) Sandra has been performing and directing for over 20 years. Favorite roles include: Morgan Le Fay in Camelot, Bloody Mary in South Pacific, and roles that employ maniacal laughter. Sandra lives in Pewaukee with her endearing teenagers Rose and Jack and ever-patient husband, Chris.

Jamie Ryan (Freeman) Jamie is very happy to be back at WCT. He last appeared as Dr. Kelikian in Wit. He’s also very pleased to once again act under the direction of John Cramer, with whom he last worked in, You Know I Can’t Hear You When The Water’s Running. Once again, he hopes the audience enjoys The Tavern even half as much as he has enjoyed performing in it.

Michael Schottle (Stevens) Michael, who is new to the Milwaukee area, is not new to community theatre. Always a sucker for a good period piece, playing Tom Koth (Sheriff ) Tom thanks John for roles such as John Hancock in 1776, he casting him as the Sheriff (a pivotal role!), couldn’t resist being a part of Waukesha and a truly wonderful cast – “You are ex- Civic Theatre’s production of The Tavern. ceptionally talented and professional!!!!

John Sindic (Ezra) After taking improv and acting classes at Waukesha Civic Theatre, John decided to challenge himself and your patience by allowing him to entertain you.

Shawn Spellman (Properties Designer) This is Shawn’s eighth year working with WCT. She is once again happy to be doing props for The Tavern.

Phil Stepanski (Willum) Phil was seen on the WCT stage last month as Stanley Sanders in Smoke on the Mountain and would like to thank John Cramer and this amazing cast for their patience with his hectic schedule! His other recent roles include Sir Edward Ramsay in The King and I and Annas in Jesus Christ Superstar. “Love and hugs to Sarah, Nathan, and baby-on-the-way. Enjoy the show!!�

Robb Smith (Sound Designer) Robb is gratefully busy in theatre lately.

A Milwaukee-area native, he has had the opportunity to perform on-camera and on-stage on a few continents. He has performed with Chicago, Milwaukee, and Wisconsin Shakes as well as most of the theatres in Milwaukee. His work as a set/sound/lighting designer and director has been seen in dozens of productions and he continues to teach and coach performers with Studio. underground. Uncountable thanks goes to Team Anderle-Smith, without whom, this is not possible.

Kavyn Tarnowski (Stage Manger) Kavyn is thrilled to be solo stage managing her very first show! Thank you to JC for the wonderful opportunity, despite the fact that my name doesn’t start with a J, and to the cast and crew for making the experience so magical! Much love to Gregg and the baby goose.

Tonight you will be entertained by members of our community.

You will see that we have been blessed with amazing performers, directors, and designers. We also have a dedicated group of volunteers that help in all phases of the theatre. Without their service it would not be possible to present our high quality of live theatre. I encourage you to get involved at the Theatre - there are many opportunities such as ushering, acting, working on the sets, or serving on a committee.

After experiencing this show, tell your friends not to miss it. I hope to see you for the next production, Candy Cane Tales and Holiday Carols, in December.

M AD CORNER I saw The Tavern in Minnesota nearly 30 years ago (yikes!) and was absolutely captivated by the story. “Really, I loved the drama of the thing even though ‘twas only make-believe.” The show’s intelligent humor and word play, in addition to the wonderful mix of melodrama and mystery, is sure to delight audiences of all ages.

I am also a huge fan of George M. Cohan (having played him in George M!, where I fell in love with my incredible life partner, Kelli), so the opportunity to direct this show was simply too great a temptation to pass up. Cohan is considered to be the Father of Broadway, as he almost single-handedly reinvented the way theatre was presented on the Great White Way. He is, of course, more known for his musicals than anything else, but The Tavern, one of his few nonmusicals, was a huge success, and gave him the opportunity to strut his stuff in the role of the Vagabond.

I have been doing theatre for over 40 years now, and this is the first time that I have had a very interesting thing occur; we have fifteen people in the cast, and eight of them have first names that start with the letter J (Jon, James, Jacqueline, Jon, Jacalyn, John, Jamie, and John). Add me into the mix and we have yet another John! How melodramatic and mysterious!

I have had a blast working on this show with our incredible production staff, cast, and crew. I thank them, and I thank you! I hope you enjoy our “few hours of delicious, delightful nonsense!”

Waukesha State Bank Art Gallery Located just outside the Mardi Bryant Jones Mainstage inside the Margaret Brate Bryant Civic Theatre Building, the Waukesha State Bank Art Gallery features the work of local artists. A new artist’s work is displayed during the run of each of WCT’s productions. The work of the artists can be viewed whenever the building is open. The art displayed during The Tavern is by Laura Krasinski and Chris Lynn Kirsch.

Volunteer Opportunities with the Waukesha Civic Theatre WCT has a number of opportunities for people who are looking to volunteer some of their time.

Ushers – WCT has the opportunity for hands-on-the-job training, and we welcome people with a willing heart to volunteer as ushers in our 55th season.

Ushers must be 14 years or older and are expected to work one performance per production. Usher duties include helping patrons by taking tickets and directing patrons to assigned seats.

Active ushers will receive one complimentary voucher to see the Preview performance of each of WCT’s Mainstage and holiday productions! If you are interested in becoming an usher, please call (262) 547-4911.

Raffle Sellers – Would you like to help WCT raise money while enjoying a performance at the same time? Then volunteer to sell raffle tickets during performances. Sellers must be over 14 years old or accompanied by an adult.

GROUP SALES Groups of ten or more qualify for the discounted ticket price of $15.00 per ticket. Full payment for ten seats is required, and all additional seats will be held on reserve as a courtesy. Final group count and full payment for all unpaid seats is required three weeks before the performance.

Educational group tickets are $10.00 for groups of ten or more from any educational organization, and the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. All sales are subject to service fees, except in-person sales.

BOX OFFICE is open from Noon to 5:00 pm, Tuesday through Friday, Noon through intermission on show Fridays, and two hours before curtain through intermission on show weekends. Mainstage Ticket prices are $19.00, $17.00 for seniors (aged 60 and up) and students (adult students must have a valid student ID), $15.00 for subscribers and groups of ten or more, and $10.00 for educational groups of ten or more. All sales are final and there are no refunds. You may exchange individual tickets for a $1.00 per ticket fee. There is no fee to exchange for subscribers.

Box Office must receive one Flex Pass or PIX 3 Voucher per ticket requested before any transaction will be conducted. CIVIC BROADWAY SINGERS Are you looking for upbeat entertainment for your next special event? The Civic Broadway Singers perform yearround in southeastern Wisconsin under the musical direction of Abby Lorenz. The 30-voice group sings memorable Broadway favorites for a variety of events, from company picnics and Christmas parties to corporate lunches and grand openings.

PlayMakers rehearse and perform in the daytime, and are always looking for new actors and technical personnel.

ACAP PLAYMAKERS provide daytime performances (often of original works) based upon school curricula, themes, and ideas relevant to children at various stages of their education. The fall PlayMakers production is geared to our elementary students, and the spring production is produced for middle school students.
