This is Dave’s second exercise in community theatre, after playing Winter Warlock in Candy Cane Tales and Holiday Carols. WAU K E S H A C I V I C T H E AT R E M I S S I O N S TAT E M E N T WCT’s mission is to provide quality live theatre performances and educational opportunities that enrich, challenge, and entertain both participants and audience members.
S P O T L I G H T O N T H E B OA R D O F D I R E C TO R S Welcome to the Waukesha Civic Theatre and this performance of Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka. I have loved this story since I was a child. I can remember imagining what it would have been like to be lucky enough to find one of those five Golden Tickets. Touring the Wonka factory would have been the experience of a lifetime. Imagine the expectation you would have felt for the unknown wonders that lie ahead. I have wonderful news; Waukesha Civic Theatre has a Golden Ticket for you. Well, it isn’t actually golden but the ticket that you hold for this performance is just as amazing. To me, there is nothing quite so fantastic as watching a live theatre performance. There is something incredible about seeing a show that was created just for you and your fellow audience members. We have a whole season of incredible performances ahead of us and we don’t want you to miss a moment. If you aren’t a subscriber, please consider purchasing one of our three subscription packages. If you are a subscriber, we would ask you to tell your friends, neighbors, co-workers, and even strangers walking down the street about the terrific theatre that you have experienced here. Now sit back, relax, and enjoy the unknown wonders that lie ahead. Kurt Magoon President, Board of Directors
M AD CORNER I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this story. The original book by Roald Dahl is magical. The 1971 movie with Gene Wilder is one of my all-time favorites. The 2005 Johnny Depp movie has inspiring moments. The music by Bricusse and Newley is unforgettable (sometimes to my family’s chagrin as I CONSTANTLY hum the Oompa Loompa song). I have wanted to bring this story to life on stage for a very long time, and now with the recent release of the stage musical we can! I have enjoyed working with this extremely talented cast, crew, and staff, and hope that you all enjoy being transported to a “world of pure imagination.” John Cramer Director/Choreographer and WCT Managing Artistic Director
