If You Had One Fruit To Live On, What Would It Be?

Fridays roll around at my day job and like clock work everyone files into the main conference room to dig into the boxes of pizza that have been ordered. This appears to be almost a ritual before the team meeting starts in full effect and without fail, almost every week someone cracks a joke : “Oh, Aje doesn’t eat pizzas ya’ll…all he eats is fruit!” Though it’s not completely true-as I do eat leaves, roots and celery, fruit is the component that forms the bulk of my diet, one interesting question that I was asked recently about my diet was: “What is your favorite fruit?” I thought about it for minute and I had to go with bananas. Why? Well, nothing beats the convenience of knowing that all you have to do before eating them is to peel the suckers and that’s it. Secondly, just throw the peels away and you’re done. Thirdly, they are one of the hardiest fruits that do not necessarily have to be organic (this brings to mind the list of the 12 most contaminated fruits), are almost always in season, don’t need refrigeration and ripen best of the plant. It is surely correct that man was a mere fruit eater in times gone by. Articles maintain that he did live in absolute health, beauty and strength. Scientifically, it has been even proven that in an apple or a banana, everything a man needs (at least for a long length of time) is proportionately found in these items. Now, if the question had been “During their respective seasons, what will be your favorite fruit for each time?” Then it will be as listed below: Fall: Globe Grapes Winter: Apples Summer: Melons or Mangoes Spring: Bananas Looking back at this article, I think I just gave away the best fruits period per seasons….at least for the USA, so who says eating mostly fruits would be hard? Here’s to health. ### Foras Aje is an independent researcher and author of “Fitness: Inside and Out”, a book on improving physical and mental health naturally with a Bible-Based Diet and Exercise.
