High VisAbility: Mandy White, Natalie Scholtz, Tegan Jenkins FORM in collaboration with CAN (Community Arts Network) Celebrating identity and visibility, collaboration, and possibility, High VisAbility is a playful, summertime celebration full of neon, fluoro fun. Presented by FORM as part of our annual summer residency series, High VisAbility is produced by CAN in collaboration with Sir David Brand School, which provides individually structured programs for students with disabilities from the age of 4 to 18 years. It’s a project about possibility. With Mandy White – a Yamatji woman and artist with an intellectual disability – as one of the project's artistic leaders, High VisAbility is designed to enable students, teachers, families and carers to navigate pathways into the arts for people with disabilities.

10

The magical artworks created by students in collaboration with artists Mandy White and Natalie Scholtz, alongside Creative Producer Tegan Jenkins and Executive Producer Michelle White, are a vibrant and playful exploration of identity, place and visibility. CAN’s High VisAbility project was made possible through funding from the State Government through the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries’ Creative Learning program and the Australian Government through its principal arts investment and advisory body, Creative Australia.

Happy Meals and Scooter Skids: art from the outer suburbs

FORM Gallery & Café

Presented by FORM as part of the Perth Festival, Andy Quilty with Western Australian high school students The creativity, innovation and unique character of Western Australia’s outer suburbs are the focus of this collaboration between acclaimed artist and educator Andy Quilty and students from three of Perth’s outer suburban high schools: Youth Futures Community School Midland, Armadale Senior High School and Warnbro Community High School. During 2024, students participated in workshops with Quilty, developing their skills, conceptual knowledge and confidence to share, through creative forms, their outer suburban experience. The results of this collaboration are showcased at FORM Gallery in Happy Meals and Scooter Skids: art from the outer suburbs, alongside a satellite exhibition at Midland Junction Arts Centre. Happy Meals and Scooter Skids: art from the outer suburbs then 12

tours to the Kim Fletcher Gallery in Armadale, and finally to Rockingham, Quilty's hometown. Happy Meals and Scooter Skids aims to amplify underrepresented stories, improve arts access for outer-suburban communities and and encourage young people to consider future careers in creative industries.

Scribblers on the Road

Scribblers

Part of FORM’s Creative Learning program, Scribblers is a celebration of storytelling in all its forms for children and young people. We bring families together with storytellers from all over the world—graphic novelists, authors, oral storytellers, illustrators, cartoonists and more—to ignite curiosity and a love of learning in children and young people, helping them make sense of the world around and within them. This is the third year of Scribblers on the Road, visiting remote and regional Western Australia. This time we’re connecting with communities in both the Pilbara and the Goldfields.

Creative Schools

Creative Schools Creative Schools is FORM's innovative schools-based learning program which has now taken place in over 60 of the State’s schools. The program uses creative teaching and learning strategies to cultivate young people’s agency and engagement in learning across the Western Australian curriculum, the General Capabilities, and the Five Creative Habits of Learning: being imaginative, inquisitive, collaborative, persistent and self-disciplined.

"It is definitely learning, but it is fun. You don’t think of it as learning, but it is. If more lessons were like this, people would do more learning." - CARE School Student Does your school need Creative Schools? Get in touch with us.
