Child, Youth & School Services Building 950, 9500 Barlow Road Telephone: 703.805.9114/9116/9118

Child, Youth & School Services

The CYSS goal is to assist each child by promoting his/her intellectual growth, physical ability, and social skills. Under the regulatory guidance of AR 608-10, CYSS programs are offered as a supplement to the family, not as a substitute. Therefore, they seek the family’s involvement and welcome questions and comments. CYSS offers various programs to support children and families with child care, recreation, socialization, and child development for children ages 4 weeks–19 years. The Child Development Centers (CDCs) offer full day and hourly child care programs for ages 6 weeks–5 years old. School Age Services (SAS) offers a variety of care, to include part day preschool and full day, hourly, and before and after school care for school age children. The Family Child Care (FCC) program offers full day, hourly, before and after school, and extended hours care for ages 6 weeks–12 years old. The Youth Services (YS) program offers an after-school middle school program, open recreation, health, fitness, and social opportunities for 6th grade and up, free of charge. Child Development Centers (CDC’s) Army CYSS Programs have been described as “a model for the nation,” and they do the best to deserve that accolade! The rates are competitive with other programs of comparable quality. Hourly care is also available at South Post CDC Monday–Friday, 7:30 am–4:30 pm. Reservations may be made up to four weeks in advance. If you want to know about the daily lesson plans, schedules and routines, child growth and development issues, or what constitutes a quality day care experience for children, just ask. CYS registration is required. Contact the registration office at 703.805.9114/9116/9118 for registration and enrollment information today, or visit our web site at www.belvoirmwr.com/cys. Markham School Age Services (SAS) SAS has immediate openings for Kindergarten–6th grade for before and after school care and all-day care on school closure days. SAS
