Outdoor Recreation closed March 18 -22 Outdoor Recreation, building 778, is scheduled to be closed the week of March 18 -22 in order to adjust operationally for the start of MWR’s new Travel Camp. Interior areas will be repainted and equipment will be adjusted to allow for a year-round rental operation in lieu of the previous seasonal approach. Please note, there will be no impact to the hunting check station/program during this timeframe. If you have any questions, please call 703805-3081.

Lifeguard Course: American Red Cross Training Benyaurd Pool is offering a new American Red Cross Life Guard Course. The 5 day course is starting on Friday, March 22 from 4 to 7 p.m. For information please visit website at Benyaurd Pool or call 703-805-2620.

Boat Storage Registration 2013 The 2013 Fort Belvoir Marina priority registration period is happening now until April 1, 2013. All current patrons must re-register during this period. Registration will be conducted on a “first come, first serve” basis, in accordance with Army Regulation 215. Wounded Warrior Kayak Training Program Benyaurd indoor Pool is offering a Wounded Warrior Kayak training every Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. with the Fort Belvoir Chapter Team River Runner in boat selection, equipment, safety, wet exiting, paddle usage and rolling. First Tee Program The First Tee of Washington D.C. is offering a great program for school aged children to learn about the game of golf while learning core values and confidence. Applications for the program can be obtained at the Fort Belvoir Golf Course. The Spring First Tee program “Open House/Kickoff” meeting is scheduled for Saturday, March 23 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Golf Course. Child, Youth and School Services Community Outreach Staff from Child, Youth & School Services offers enrichment activities at the housing community centers and the Fort Belvoir Community Center. Bowhunter Class Outdoor Recreation is offering a Hunter’s Education VDGIF Courses. The next 2 classes are March 20 from 6 to 9 p.m. and March 24 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. This class is required if you wish to bowhunt on Fort Belvoir. Please sign up through Outdoor Recreation at 703-8053081.

Attention Body Shop Customers! The Body Shop is currently closed for renovations. Graves Fitness Center and Specker Field House will remain open. Specker FH hours are Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. and closed on the weekends. Active Duty in PT uniform will have priority for usage of all cardio equipment at Graves FC during hours 5a.m. to 8 a.m. and 5p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday – Friday. Thank you for your patience as we improve our facility to better serve you, our customers. Family Child Care Opportunity The Fort Belvoir Family Child Care (FCC) program is looking for FCC providers. This is an excellent opportunity for military spouses to earn an income while staying home with their own children. KidFest A fun-filled day of games prizes, and crafts at the Markham School Age Center on April 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. TeenFest A special event planned by Teens at the Youth Center on April 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
