Smart Financial Centre hosts Community Open House The city of Sugar Land and ACE SL, LLC will host a special public open house of the Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land on Jan. 7 from noon to 4 p.m. The new world-class venue for performing arts, music, comedy, family entertainment

ture in The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley JR. Stanley Lambchop is your ordinary ten-year-old until the bulletin board on the wall above his bed comes loose and falls on top of him. The next morning, Stanley wakes up flat. In a whirlwind musical travelogue, Stanley scours the globe for a solution to his unusual problem. He’s stamped, posted and cancelled from Hollywood and France to Honolulu and beyond, all in an effort to become a three-dimensional boy once more. “The saying goes ‘go out for adventure and come home for love.’ That couldn’t be more true in The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley. The musical is about a boy finding out what he really wants in life, even if he has to go

what he is destined to be. From simple, sweet ballads to a ‘totally awesome’ Hawaiian surfing number, the high-energy score transports you across the world and lets you experience the story through Stanley’s eyes,” says Music Director Sarah Patterson. “Our student actors bring their powerhouse voices and youthful authenticity to each song, and by the end you can’t help but sing along too!” The play features 31 talented youth from Sugar Land and the Houston area.
