Child Advocates of Fort Bend flex training application deadline set for Sept. 13
Are you looking for something meaningful to do this fall and interested in making a difference in the lives of children? Child Advocates of Fort Bend is offering a Flex Training Class to train volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children. With the new Flex Learning curriculum, volunteers will be able to complete part of the training online and the remainder by classroom (on Monday evenings). Fifteen hours of the 30 hour training will be done from your home computer. Applications will be accepted through September 13th. This is your last opportunity this year to complete the vvoice for abused and neglected children in Fort Bend County. With an army of volunteers, Child Advocates of Fort Bend currently serves more than 400 children each month through its Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Program and Children’s Advocacy Center. Catwalk on City Walk at Sugar Land Town Square Make it a girls’ night out and help raise money for Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital’s Pretty in Pink Cancer Fund! Fort Bend County Crimes Stoppers, Inc. will pay a cash reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a person who stole items from a cosmetics/perfume store. At 2:22 p.m., Friday, July 26, 2013, deputies were called to Ulta Beauty, located in the 5400 block of Hwy 99 in the Richmond area concerning the theft. In reviewing store video recordings, deputies determined the suspect to be a white female, about 5-feet, 5-inches in height with a thin
build. She is about 35 to 40 years old and was wearing a strawberry blonde wig. The suspect was wearing a blue tank top, black shorts and black sandals. She was seen walking throughout the store, placing items inside an Ulta shopping bag. Detectives believe the suspect crouched while between aisles in order to remove the items in the bag and place them in her own purse, leaving the Ulta bag behind. The suspect stole items worth almost $225.
She was last seen departing in what is believed to be a Toyota Camry. Information which leads to the apprehension and filing of charges on the suspect involved could earn a reward of up to $5,000.
