My personal journey started in high school in a single-parent home. My senior guidance counselor attempted to shatter my dream of going to college when he told me I wasn’t smart enough and didn’t have enough money to think about college. My mother was furious, and she convinced me that “anything is possible if you work hard and focus on taking things one day at a time.” She was right, and like my mother, I believe in the potential of each of our students and celebrate with pride and passion every success. I believe there is no limit to what you can achieve in college, and in the life that awaits you after graduation. You have what it takes to be a Tiger. SCHMIDT FOUNDATION SCHOLARS
Students who meet eligibility criteria can apply for an annual renewable scholarship ranging from $2,000 to $4,000.
Kansas residents who qualify are encouraged to apply for a four-year award designed to pay for all remaining costs.
TEAMMATES SCHOLARSHIP
This four-year, renewable scholarship is based on participation in the TeamMates program. Award amounts vary and verification of confirmation of high school participation is required.
New, incoming, on-campus transfer students who meet eligibility criteria may be awarded an automatic transfer scholarship. These awards range from $500-$2,250.
Through the generosity of the Schmidt Foundation, first-generation students can apply for one of five $14,900 renewable awards covering 30 hours of tuition and fees for fall and spring courses, books, room, and board.

FHSU offers first-time, full-time, on-campus freshman students the opportunity to receive an automatic and renewable scholarship based on a combination of their ACT/SAT score and GPA. Students may be eligible to receive up to $15,000 in scholarship funds automatically and these scholarships are renewable for three additional years, provided normal scholarship eligibility criteria are met.
