Family and MWR Employees of the Month
MELISSA MUELLER May Employee of the Month As kitchen manager at the Warrior Zone, Melissa Mueller’s day-to-day responsibilities included overseeing the facilities food operations. In January, she was detailed into the Warrior Zone’s manager position. The detail ended in May, but a permanent manager could not be hired due to the federal hiring freeze. Mueller continued to provide leadership in a complex facility that underwent significant operational changes.

LESLIE HAYNES June Employee of the Month As a CYS food and nutrition specialist, Leslie Haynes is responsible for the oversight and operation of the food program and child development centers. For two months, she single-handedly sustained the meal program through hands-on intervention in multiple facilities during a time of extreme staffing shortages. Haynes made the greatest impact at Warren CDC and Whitside CDC, dedicating more than half her time to these facilities.
ALICIA DORIOT July Employee of the Month Alicia Doriot serves as the trainer and professional development education consultant for Fort Riley CYS. During the month of July, she provided support above and beyond her regular duties by filling in as management at Whitside CDC, while the center director was on emergency leave. Armed Forces Bank
A mainstay across the armed services, Armed Forces Bank has long been a proud supporter of Family and MWR events at Fort Riley. You might have seen Armed Forces Bank –and Fort Riley Manager Bill Brooks – at Family and MWR programs over the years as the bank supports events large and small, ranging from Volunteer of the Year to Fall Apple Day Festival and many in between. “We are a military bank dedicated to the well-being of our military service members, their families and the veterans who serve and have served this country,” Brooks said. “We are committed to providing financial education and offer the products and services that help our military men and women live better financial lives.” “Our mission as a military bank is to provide financial readiness to the Soldiers who serve our country every day. Our partnership with MWR is a critical component of overall readiness of our military men and women for work life balance and we are proud to support programs that achieve this goal,” Brooks continued. “It just makes sense for us to proudly support MWR and the programs and services available to our military men and women. Our commitment as a military bank is a natural fit when determining how best to financially support activities that make life better for our Soldiers.” If you see Armed Forces Bank at upcoming Family and MWR events – like Staycations and Destinations or GLO Run – be sure to stop by and say thanks for their support. *Sponsorship and advertising do not imply U.S. Army endorsement.
