Firecracker 50 at the Skeet and Trap Range Jul 2 | $10 your gun/ammo or $22 w/range gun/ammo This non-traditional shoot takes experience and treats it like a clay pigeon being tossed out of the high house. For a truly different shooting experience call and reserve your spot today. Women’s Fishing Tournament Aug 5-6 | $40 per team Join the Fort Riley Marina as we host a women’s fishing tournament on Milford Lake. Aug 5 at 6pm is the tournament meeting where rules and regulations will be announced. Aug 6 at 8am is the start time for the tournament. The last entry for scoring will be accepted at 3pm. Awards and prizes will be handed out starting at 4:30pm. Teams consist of two people. Wilderness Survival/Camping class Aug 20 | $10 per person Do you ever wonder what it would take to survive without all of our modern comforts and conveniences? This class will explain and demonstrate how to adapt and overcome outdoor survival situations that you might find yourself in. We will also examine local flora and fauna that can assist you. Kansas Boater’s Safety Course Aug 25 & 27 | $5 per person The Kansas Boater’s Safety or NASBLA approved card/ certificate is required to rent or operate a motorized boat at the Fort Riley Marina or through the Outdoor Recreation Center. The Thu session is in the classroom at ODR (5:30-9pm) and the Sat session is on the water at the Fort Riley Marina (8:30am3:30pm). Cards/certificates can also be obtained online at www.kdwp.state.ks.us/news/Boating/Boating-Education. Other trips, services, and activities are available. Just call or stop by for details. The Kansas State Boater’s Safety Course is required to rent a motorized boat or you must have a NASBLA approved card/certificate. For information about the course visit www.kdwp.ks.us/news/Boating/Boating-Education. Jet ski rentals require an additional safety review and a mandatory test will have to be passed by all patrons. All are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. No reservations will be accepted. Multiple boats will not be issued to one customer. Each boat rented must be to a Boater Safety Card holder. (The customer who rents a boat may be held financially liable for items that are lost, damaged, or destroyed by causes other than fair wear and tear.) Marina property is for personal use only to the person it is issued. Customers will not allow unauthorized persons to use or operate government property. WebTrac! WebTrac! is now available for CYSS patrons to make payments, as well as enroll in Youth Sports programs. Customers currently in our database will receive their WebTrac! User ID and password upon request via the e-mail address we have on file. New customers may sign up by going to the WebTrac! link located on the DFMWR website, www.rileymwr.com. CYSS Hourly Care Hourly care is open from 7:30am-5pm, Mon-Fri at Warren East CDC and SAS. The hourly rate is $4.00 per hour ($2.50 for Category I Families.) Reservations can be made up to 30 days in advance by calling Warren East CDC at 785-240-0822 or SAS at 785-239-9220. Families can use the hourly care program up to 20 hours per week, per child. All reservations are on a first-come, first-serve basis. We make every effort to accommodate hourly care needs. FREE hourly care is available for the children of deployed Soldiers. Army Family Covenant (AFC) CYSS Initiatives
You must present a copy of deployment orders (with spouse’s name) in order to receive any of the AFC discounts in addition to being registered with Parent Central. Initiatives include: •20% monthly discount is available for children of deployed Soldiers for full-time and part-day fees. •$100 in FREE sports registrations per child per Family per deployment. This includes soccer, baseball, basketball, flag football, and volleyball programs. •$300 in FREE instructional (SKIES) classes per child for maximum duration of eight weeks each. Regular fees will apply after the eight weeks. •16 hours of free hourly care per month is available to children of deployed sponsors. Hourly care is located at Warren East CDC and SAS. •FREE hourly Saturday care is available up to 90 days after the Soldier returns. FREE Saturday Hourly Care: Jun 11, Jul 9, & Aug 13 FREE Weekday Hourly Care: Jun 14 & 28, Jul 12 & 26, Aug 9 & 23 Be sure to make your reservations in advance at Warren East CDC or SAS. Weekday care is from 6:30-8:30pm. Saturday care is from 9am-1pm, and includes a lunch at 11:30am. Patrons may also utilize an hourly rate to take advantage of Weekday and Saturday care. Weekday care is free for Families participating in FRG’s.
School Age Services (SAS)
SAS is a nationally accredited program for Kindergarten to 5th Grade. SAS offers before and after school programs, as well as Open Recreation. Families requiring full time care during school out weeks may register for a weekly fee. SAS offers hourly care, Families must be registered with CYSS. Families can reserve time for hourly care 30 days in advance (must call SAS for reservations). Riley Ranger’s Summer Camp Jun 1-Aug 12, Mon-Fri, 9am-4pm Families please come and sign up your children for our new and improved Riley Ranger’s Summer Camp. Don’t forget we are offering new and exciting activities and fieldtrips. Families can also receive 4 FREE hours of Open Recreation each month simply for being registered with CYSS (reservations are required). Please call 785-239-9220 for additional information. School Support Services (SSS)
SSS develops partnerships with local schools and community organizations to help ensure a positive educational experience of our military children and youth. Through coordination with the School Liaison Officers, schools and community, SSS helps ease education transition and connects military Families with available resources. SSS also collaborates with parents and schools to ensure academic success. New to the area? Let SSS help you navigate the local school system, their procedures, programs, and schedules. Family Child Care (FCC)
FCC providers provide child care in a home setting. FCC homes offer full-day, part-time, and extended hours. FCC homes have unique qualities making them the preferred child care choice for many Families. Homes provide flexible hours, a comfortable Family-like setting, and activities based on real life experiences in the home and neighborhood. Adults wanting to become certified FCC providers are invited to attend an FCC informational briefing. The orientation/informational briefings are scheduled every Thursday, starting at 1:30pm in Bldg. 6620. Take a tour of FCC homes at www.armyfcc.com. Middle School & Teen (MST) Center
Youth Services MST offers a range of positive activities for youth in grades 6-12 that promote positive attitudes and reinforces Army core values.Youth Services sponsors a variety of programs offering youth opportunities in life skills; citizenship and leadership; leisure, recreation and arts; mentoring, intervention and support services. There are special interest activities that change each week. Join the Fort Riley Teen Center for our weekly activities which include: Sports, Smart Girls, Tech Club, Dungeons & Dragons Gaming, High School specific activities, Power Hour, Photography Club, Arts & Crafts, Passport to Manhood, and Cooking Club. The SKIES Instructional program is seeking instructors to teach all ages of children and youth in a wide variety of areas. Recipe for a Healthy Family Jul 13, Noon-1pm This workshop will discuss how to involve all members of the Family in menu planning, meal preparation and table setting. The Army provides care in a Multi-Age group setting. Each classroom enrolls children with a minimum age span of 18 months. The concept of the Multi-Age classroom is to provide a Family style environment where the children learn from and nurture each other. Children experience fewer transitions while in the Multi-Age child care setting, giving them more time to bond with their primary caregiver. Children also benefit widely from interacting with classmates who are older and younger, learning important principles of citizenship, relationships, respect, patience, and self-esteem. The class will go line by line through the Inspection Plan and cover what needs to be in the FRG Binders in order to meet regulatory requirements and standards. Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers is a program that
supports the overall quality of life for single Soldiers. The program does this by focusing time and energy into three aspects of a Soldier’s life:
Community Service, Quality of Life, and Recreation All three of these aspects are important in their own way.
Community Service
Helps the communities surrounding the installation to become more aware of Soldiers in general, and helps create a favorable environment to live in.
Quality of Life
Deals directly with the living conditions a Soldier might have; i.e. barracks, road conditions on post, dining facility issues, etc.
Recreation
Gives the Soldiers an outlet to do something fun and new that they may not have thought of, or been able to do. BOSS does everything from Ski Trips and Haunted Houses, to Fashion Shows and Shopping Trips. So keep an eye on what BOSS is doing and join the fun!

We’re here five days a week for you, including nights and weekends! The woodshop has 2,400 square feet of floor space and all the specialized equipment needed to complete any project. A large selection of hardwoods, plywood, and processed material is available for purchase. Two potter’s wheels, a slab roller, and a ceramic kiln make it possible to create finished ceramic ware from scratch. You can bring in your greenware and bisque year-round to be fired for a minimal fee, however the potter’s wheels and slab roller are only available during warm weather. (Outside Activity) The matting and framing area has a huge selection of matts and frame stock available as well as state-of-the-art equipment. We only use conservation and preservation matts, which are the best to preserve your framed work. After taking a beginner’s class, you will be able to come and finish a project in one day with the help of our friendly staff. The scrapbooking area is equipped with specialized equipment such as the zyron and acc-u-cut die cutter. These are available for walk-in use, and there is a minimal fee.

Pre-registration and payment are required for some classes. Classes begin promptly; late arrivals will not always be accepted. Some ongoing class schedules have changed; check dates and class descriptions for details. Some classes will require you to purchase supplies. Call to verify the fees, dates, and sign up procedures. There are enrollment limits, so sign up early.
Framing
Matting and Framing $10 (Orientation and First Time User Course) Jun 2, 20, Jul 11, 25, Aug 8, 22, 6-9pm Learn the skills to do your own matting and framing and save a bundle! Subjects covered include: material selection, matt cutting, frame chopping and assembly, and glass-cutting. All materials are provided for hands-on instruction. Students will not be working on their own projects. This class is required before using this area. This is a one-night class.
Wood
Wood Safety $8 (Orientation and First Time User Course) Call ahead for dates. Learn power tool safety and general woodshop procedures in this one-night class. Patrons are required to take this class before using the woodshop.
Wood Class Projects Call ahead for dates. Fee varies based on class project You must sign up one week prior and will need to purchase all supplies for this Textiles project. There will be a class fee which Crochet, Knitting, & Cross Stitch FREE includes the wood shop usage fees during 2nd Sat of Every Month, 1-4pm that month. Upcoming projects: Book Learn the basics of crochet including single Shelves, Picnic Tables, & Gliders. Come and double stitches, how to read instructions, in and get ready for the summer. Arts & Crafts Center offers tours and classes for groups such as coffee groups, FRG’s and scouts. We can assist your scouts in earning their badges, woodworking, and a variety of crafts. Coffee groups and FRG’s, come and make a craft to send to your spouse or for your home. There are many projects to choose from. Operation Rising Star
Aug 15 & 20, 7pm Rally Point Operation Rising Star is a singing competition for Active Duty Soldiers and their Families (18 and over) who want to follow their dream of becoming a professional recording artist. The Fort Riley winner gets $500 and advances to the Army-wide finals. Last year’s winner, Justin Black, made it to the Final 5 at Department of Army Level which launched his professional music career. As a bonus, a Spirit Award will be given to the best supportive unit or FRG at Fort Riley - $300 towards unit or FRG fund.
U.S. Army Soldier Show
Aug 23 & 24, 7pm McCain Auditorium (Kansas State University) The U.S. Army Soldier Show is a high-energy ensemble production featuring all-star Soldier talent that tours the globe every summer. The show offers a wide range of popular music and stage spectacle for Soldiers, Families and the local community. Admission is free but you must have a ticket for the show. Tickets are available at the Leisure Travel Center or at the McCain Box Office.

Call and ask about our Unit PT Bowling: Tired of the gym? Custer Hill Bowling has the solution for you. How well you bowl and the frame determines what type of exercise and how many reps you do. Ex: 1st frame and 1st ball:You knock down 6 pins. You and your partner will do 6 pushups. If your partner fails to “pick up” the last 4 pins (say only 3 out of 4 were picked up), both players do 18 pushups (2x the amount of pins knocked down). Sit-ups, push-ups (regular/elevated), crunches, leg scissors, squats, or any type of exercise can be used. Ball weights also give you the ability to perform weight-lifting exercises as well. A strike or spare (after your partner picks up) gives both a free pass on the exercise. Cost is $2 per person. Max occupancy 80 people. Dates must be coordinated at least 3 days in advance with the bowling center. Times may be coordinated between 6am and 9am, Monday-Friday.

Country Stampede, Jun 23-26 Country Stampede is a four-day camping and music festival held at Tuttle Creek State Park in Manhattan, KS, every year on the last full weekend in June. INTERVAL BOOT CAMP A combination of 3.5 minutes of cardio drills and 1.5 minutes of strength/ conditioning exercises. Movement modifications provided for all fitness levels.
ROWBICS Rowbics is a total body workout on the indoor rowing machines that also incorporates weights and off the rower exercises. This class is great for any fitness level.
ZUMBA A fusion of latin and international music that creates a dynamic, exciting, and effective fitness workout.
SPINNING CLASS A group cycling class that puts you in control of your intensity level. The low-impact ride builds cardio and strength by adjusting speed and resistance. Bring a sweat towel, water, and a heart rate monitor.
AB FORCE 1 A 30-minute class targeting core strength and problem areas, including the abdominals and back. YOGA Now in the evening! Yoga promotes flexibility & relaxation while toning the muscles. Great for the mind and the body!
CIRCUIT BREAKER Aerobics resistance training to pump the heart and muscles! Endurance and strength interval stations allow you to work at your own speed. Modifications available to fit any fitness level from beginner to advance.
