SPOTLIGHT ON ... Allied Marketing Group

MEREDITH STORM Commercial Sponsorship and Advertising Coordinator Allied Marketing Group has not had a presence at Fort Riley for very long, but they have made a big impact through their support of Family and MWR. You may have seen the allied team at the 2015 Fall Apple Day Festival. Maybe you tried to guess the amount growing on their popular “money tree” at the Easter Egg Hunt or Run for the Fallen. Wherever you have run into the staff from Allied Marketing Group, one thing is clear: Their dedication to the military community. “We love our military because they are our family members,” said Alionso Delfin, senior agent with AMG. “They are a father, a brother or a friend that has dedicated him or herself to the highest form. We sponsor them to say thank you in the only way we can, by giving back!” Next time you see Allied Marketing Group, take a moment say thanks for their support of Soldier and family programs through Family and MWR. They’ll be at Victory Celebration June 4 – stop by to say hello, and you might have a chance to win great prizes, too. *Sponsorship and advertising do not imply endorsement.

MCC will streamline the waitlist process for families finding and requesting child care MilitaryChildCare.com, a Department of Defense site designed to simplify and improve the child care request for care process, is scheduled to launch at Fort Riley June 30. Using MCC, eligible families can search and request care for full-day and part-day options in facility-based and home-based programs for children from birth through age 12. Families at Fort Riley who are currently on waitlists will be automatically transitioned to the new web-based system. These families will retain the original date of their request(s) for care, and all program enrollment processes will remain the same. For more information, please contact Parent Central Services at (785) 239-9885, or learn more about MCC at militarychildcare.com.

Personalized Profile

On militarychildcare.com, a profile stores basic information such as sponsor name, contact information, family type and child data. With this profile, you can conduct a customized search for a range of child care options, request care across services, submit unlimited requests for care, and remain on waitlists for a preferred program even after being offered care by another.

32 • The Guide • Summer 2016

MilitaryChildCare.com provides a single online gateway for families to access military-operated or military-subsidized child care options worldwide across all Services. The site enables families to create a household profile, conduct child care searches, submit requests for care, and manage their requests at any time and from any location. The site offers a more streamlined approach to finding and requesting care, expedites placement through a standardized request process and waitlist management tools, and provides reports that help programs better plan for future placement needs.

WORK FROM HOME

All training, basic equipment, toys and supplies necessary to start an FCC home are available free of charge from CYS Services.

Do you want to earn money from home? The Family Child Care program needs you!

The FCC program selects only individuals who are “most qualified” for acceptance into the program. An applicant, the applicant’s spouse and anyone in the home over the age of 12 must pass several background checks.

Do you enjoy working with children? Would you like to earn money from home? If the answer is yes, check out the Family Child Care program! The FCC program recruits, trains and certifies military spouses who live on post and want to provide child care. CYS Services currently has a need for more certified homes. When you become a Family Child Care professional, CYS Services provides free training, access to start up equipment, on-going program support and a subsidy program to help offset expenses. FCC providers have earning potential of $26,000-$40,000 per year. If you are interested in supporting Fort Riley Soldiers and families by providing safe, high-quality child care in a home environment, call the FCC office at (785) 239-4313.

Applicants who are selected must complete 40 hours of specified training to meet the Army standard. Providers must also complete ongoing training in child development and guidance to become fully certified and maintain that certification.
