Welcome to Forty Hall
Step into the Hall this Autumn and discover the lives of the families who owned and lived in the house throughout the past 400 years.
Forty Hall is a Grade 1 Listed Jacobean Manor House in Enfield, North London set amidst an Estate and an idyllic landscape. The house was built by Sir Nicholas Rainton between 1629 and 1632.

The exhibition Hidden Treasures: Forty Hall, a Family Home provides a glimpse into the lives of The Bowles and Parker Bowles family who were the last family to own Forty Hall. Walk through and enjoy reprints of family photographs and portraits. The exhibition runs from 27 September – 30 December.

You can enjoy an Ornamental lake, medieval fishing pond and stream, a walled garden, pleasure grounds Georgian and Victorian flora and fauna and meadows. It is also home to one of the oldest Cedar of Lebanon tree in England and the site of Elsyng Palace, now a scheduled monument.

Forty Hall Farm Forty Hall Farm is a certified organic farm run by Capel Manor College. It is home to a variety of animals, London’s only organic commercial vineyard, a community orchard, a market garden and its own Farm Shop. You can take the amazing vegetables, salads, eggs and free-range meat back home with you. The shop is open Friday – Sunday, 11am – 4pm.
