Bespoke Kitchen Fitting & Kitchen Makeovers

Beautiful Made-To-Measure Kitchens I found Happy Kitchens on Houzz, and I decided to go with them as the reviews were encouraging and I liked that they were a small, local company. From the outset, Ben was extremely professional and understands exactly what the client wants. The Happy Kitchen team were all fantastic; punctual, hardworking, incredibly tidy and most importantly they really cared about the quality of their work. We are really thrilled with our new kitchen and it has totally exceeded our expectations. Joanne McCarthy Happy Kitchens are quite unique as we are able to offer top quality products, available in any size, fitted by the best professionals in the business. Change your kitchen and bedroom with a makeover or design and install a new kitchen and bedroom, whichever suits your needs or price range.

COMMUN ITY / PROPERTY The process of selling a property can be much faster if you are prepared with the necessary information. Since 2013, the description and sale of property has come under the CPR (Consumer Protection Against Unfair Trading Regulations). This means that if something is not disclosed that could legitimately affect a buyer’s decision, you could be prosecuted. To help ensure that the correct information has been disclosed, a vendor is supplied with a Property Information Form (TA6). Any disputes with neighbours, planning permission nearby or building work done on the property should be listed here. Things that can be concerning, like pests, Japanese knotweed or a previous sale falling through due to the results of a survey, need to be disclosed. People have the right to know what they’re walking into. Some examples of what needs to be disclosed: • If the property is on a flight path or in view of a motorway, or

there are plans for this to occur • If a violent death took place in the property • If there are high levels of crime in the area • If there are pests or Japanese knotweed problems either currently or in the past • If your neighbours have an Anti Social Behaviour Order (ASBO) • Any structural issues with the property • Any planning permission, whether it was granted, is pending, or was denied • Guarantees or insurance policies like underpinning, or damp proofing • Planning limitations • Boundary issues or shared rights of way Being upfront and clear in advance will mean your property is sold more promptly and there are no issues afterwards. Failing to disclose relevant information is a criminal offence. There is also a fixtures and fittings form to be completed before selling. This will tell your buyer what is included in the purchase. Be clear about what you're taking and what you're leaving to avoid any difficulty closer to exchange. Ultimately have an honest and open relationship with your agent and be guided by them.

The Spring Hampshire Art Show

As our hedgerows once again burst with life and colour, lambs skid about in the fields and we alternate between boiling and freezing, we know that not only is spring upon us but also that Nadia Waterfield Fine Art will soon be opening its doors for its much feted Spring Hampshire Art Show. As ever brimming with beautiful contemporary art, with over 250 paintings, sculptures and ceramics from both recognised artists, along with so much exciting new talent, the exhibition runs from 23rd April to 14th May at the Old Grain Barn, Goodworth Clatford, near Stockbridge.

The gallery – the largest in Hampshire – has the advantage of acres of space so that not only can a vast cross-section of artwork, across a broad variety of subjects, genres and media be exhibited, larger pieces to fill bigger walls can be hung too. Featuring original work from over 60 artists, all the exhibits are meticulously sourced from all over the UK and abroad to ensure these shows are always exciting, sometimes surprising, and normally have something to fall in love with that is hard to leave behind! Certainly with so much diversity under one roof, there’s something to appeal to all tastes and budgets. Comfortably furnished, with a stylish smattering of rugs, lamps, tables and chairs, this is a magical venue in which to enjoy some truly memorable art in a relaxed yet professional environment. It’s a hidden gem in the Hampshire countryside too, with plenty of parking and wonderful walks nearby. Nadia – an artist herself – is passionate about finding the dream piece for her clients and will always advise on what might suit their tastes and spaces best. She is also happy to bring suitable artwork to a client’s house and will leave pieces behind to be ‘lived with’ to see if they work well while the client makes a decision. The Spring Hampshire Art Show will be open every day from 11am-5pm (closed on Mondays) with preview drinks on Saturday 23rd April (12-2pm). For those who want to do some research on the treats in store, all artwork is available online at nadiawaterfield. com. If you want to see yet more eclectic and original art from Nadia Waterfield Fine Art and are in the area, pop in to our Bruton gallery. In order to make our art as assessable to as many people as possible we take interest free payments over 10 months.

ut on a walk in the late Spring sunshine, dogs milling about at his feet, Himself sighed and muttered something that sounded a lot like “Fifty shades of grey.” A bit random, she thought as she stopped in her tracks. She didn’t know he’d read it, for one. Although, they’d been talking earlier about her next choice for Book Club – was it a suggestion...? “It’s an idea I suppose.” She concurred. Potentially not a very good one if she were honest. But Himself had apparently given it some thought, so she deliberated. “Well… I heard that charity shops had been inundated with copies, so I suppose it wouldn’t be expensive for everyone to buy. I’ll have to check – maybe Book Club have already read it… Do you think they’d like it?” she pondered. “Who’d like what, Darling?” He looked puzzled. “Book Club. Fifty Shades of Grey.” “Absolutely no idea. Best ask them. Look Darling, look at all those nifty little sheds. And all mellowed into that lovely silvery grey of weathered larch lap.” He sighed with longing and waved his hand expansively over the view of the allotments. Aah. Sheds, not shades - that made a lot more sense. Himself was particularly partial to a nice nifty shed. Of grey. The neatly tended allotment plots were a verdant patchwork, too. “And fifty shades of green,” she commented, less jealously than she might previously have done. Was a time during the first lockdown that she’d been obsessed with growing vegetables. Back then, when supermarket delivery slots were rather rarer than rocking horse droppings, a green-eyed monster might well have possessed her as she took in the view of the allotments. But back then she hadn’t been able to get her hands on tomato or runner bean plants for her pots until it was almost too late. Given the Government green light she’d finally, nervously, visited a garden centre. Buying the very last ones in stock, she’d felt epic excitement of spaniel proportions. Returning triumphantly to the car with her leggy, spindly, slightly sad specimens of gardener’s delight and scarlet emperor, she’d mentally pranced on all four paws, panted and wagged her tail. 2020 had also been the year she attempted to grow courgette seeds she’d rescued from her ratatouille. This was before she’d found out you could get poisoned from the resulting harvest. That was a narrow

8

squeak – saved from ‘toxic squash syndrome’ by an inability to get the seeds to germinate. Paradoxically, not being blessed with green fingers had, for once, been an advantage. But 2020 now seemed like a different century, a different planet. Back in the present, along from the allotments, they were strolling past gardens full of colour. She was reminded of spring 2021, which had delivered her a desperate need for flowers. Like a May dawn mist, her obsession with vegetables had evaporated, along with listening to the hourly news and wanting to go to the pub. The term ‘languishing’ was being bandied about and the somehow joyless, aimless feeling of ‘meh’ had taken hold. Flowers had been the answer; a vibrant, technicolour tonic. She’d packed her pots with pots of colour. “You know the human eye can differentiate between more shades of green than any other colour.” Himself stated, sounding uncharacteristically flat. Perhaps he had a point - looking a little closer, she noted that he was somewhat green around the gills. “You alright?” He shook his head sadly. “I suspect the culprit was that green salad. Maybe not washed properly, or the dressing was off…” Yeah right, she thought. Or maybe, just maybe, it had been something short-date he’d eaten. Perfectly fine when he’d fancied it in the reduced chiller cabinet, but days later when he’d got around to snaffling it? Not so much... Back at home, a glass of Andrews and a quiet sit down in the smallest library of the house sorted him out, however. As she looked at him, his habitually healthy complexion was miraculously restored. “You’re a marvel.” She announced. “Thank you Darling.” He said happily. Then thought about it. “Marvel, why?” “A momentary indisposition and there you are; green for ‘go’ again.” “Salad – definitely the salad.” Himself nodded as he opened the fridge door. “If you say so.” Either way she’d have been sick for a week from eating out-of-date whatever-it-was. She only had to look at an unwashed grape or an overripe cheese to feel queasy - but not him. As she watched him enthusiastically tuck into leftovers she’d earmarked for the dogs, that cast iron constitution of his made her green with envy.

GARDEN Right Plant, Right Place

Take time to ponder your garden, so you can choose plants that suit the conditions you can provide. Observe what plants do well and fail(!) in your garden, your road or your local NGS garden- all likely to have similar growing conditions. Soil in Meon Valley gardens can vary from a few inches of loam above chalk to heavy clay soil, even in the same village! • What type is yours? • Does water drain from it easily, or puddle? • What parts of your garden or balcony get full sun or shade? • What areas are sheltered or buffeted by the wind? To boost your well-being every day, think of where your garden interacts with humans.

Beth Chatto ( 1923 - 2018) was a British plantswoman and author whose most famous mantra was "Right plant, right place". By applying this, she was able to choose the best plants and techniques to design the world famous 'Gravel garden' in dry Essex, which, famously, has never been watered.

Could you have a wonderful fragrant plant greeting you at the front door - a pot of narcissi in spring, or sarcococca in winter? If you have a sitting spot in the back garden, or a view from a favourite chair, imagine what plants might be happy in those conditions and could also enhance the experience. Perhaps sunloving lavender that will also bring the butterflies in? Or some stocks and jasmine for evening scent?

Nowadays, plants from overseas, which originally evolved to grow in very different conditions from those in the UK, are common in our gardens. For example, Acers and Camellias were brought from Asia, and Dahlias, from Central America.

Using “Right plant, right place’, your plants will boost you and your environment, with their usefulness, beauty, scent, or place in their ecosystem.

Bishop’s Waltham in Bloom

to experience. Some of these gardens are attached to historical properties, some to new-builds. Some are well established, some newly planted. They vary in size too. Garden gates will be open from 11.00 until 5.00. Refreshments will be available at 5 gardens and there will be craft and plant sales at some too. To guide you round the gardens there is a Garden Guide. This gives details of all the gardens opening and includes maps to help you find your way from one garden to another. It also shows where there are car parks around Bishop’s Waltham and where footpaths allow you to plan walking routes. The guide contains some information about each garden, with a photograph, and details of the facilities each has to offer. Purchasing the guide ahead of time allows you to plan your day.

Bishop’s Waltham in Bloom are organising a Hidden Garden Event on Sunday 10th July. There will be 12 gardens opening their gates for us all to explore. The event was last held in 2019 and we are excited that we can revive it this year. Of the 12 gardens opening 6 have not opened before, 4 opened in 2019 and 2 in 2017, so there is plenty for you

10

Each person will need a guide which costs £6.00: children under 16 are free. The guides will be on sale towards the end of May and throughout June and July at Best Wishes in Brook Street and The Sweet Corner in the High Street. We will also sell guides in Red Lion Street on the day (July 10th ) from 10.00 in the morning. We ask, though, that purchases are made in cash or by cheque at all venues. This is a great opportunity to visit private gardens and talk to the people who have created them and who maintain them. All are enthusiastic about their own gardens and enjoy sharing them with others. www.bishopswalthaminbloom.org.uk

Battle for Britannia - Saxons invade Butser Ancient Farm A spectacular weekend of re-enactments as invading Saxons clash with resident Romans and Celts to claim victory over the beautiful Butser Ancient Farm. At the end of the 4th century, the mighty Roman Empire that had conquered and ruled over swathes of British Isles for four hundred years was in its dying days. The legions were retreating, leaving the land open to be reclaimed by the native Britons. But in their wake, the Roman’s left the rich and fertile lands vulnerable to attack from an old enemy, raiding parties of Germanic warriors known as the Angles, Jutes and Saxons, a wave of invaders that would ultimately overcome the native inhabitants and any lingering Romano-Brits, and would become known to history as the mighty Anglo Saxons. COMMUNITY / PROFESSIONAL Bishop’s Waltham 'Come and Sing Day'

Mr Mac - Support for Apple & Windows

2022 sees the BW Festival organisers reprise our very popular Come and Sing day. Anyone who likes to sing, or would like to have a go at singing in a choir is welcome to sign up for the workshop. You don't need to be a great singer, just an enthusiastic one! You will learn and practise singing some popular songs with a group of likeminded people under the direction of a professional choirmaster. The theme for our songs is celebratory and royal in this Jubilee year.

This month - The latest iPhone SE, a very good Screen bar light and a portable Apple Watch charger. Introduced in March the new iPhone SE, 4.7", starting price £419, has had some excellent reviews. It packs a lot of punch for a small phone. Many people like this form factor that slips easily into almost any pocket or handbag and will not be disappointed with the 2022 model. It has a 12 megapixel camera, up to 15 hours battery life and is fully 5G compatible. If you have an older model 6 or 7 and are looking to update it without needing to buy the very latest model this is a great choice. I am always available should you need any help setting up any new iPhone that you might choose. Remember that if you purchase any Apple product from John Lewis you will receive 2 years warranty, one year more than Apple give you.

Lunch is available for singers for an additional fee. In the evening there is a short concert open to your family and friends and the general public where you and the choir will perform the songs of the day. Charges: Workshop £10 Lunch: £7 Concert: £5 per person to include wine / soft drinks and nibbles. Doors open at 6.00pm. Pay on the door, cash or card. From 28th March paper entry forms for the workshop are available at Best Wishes, Brook Street, Bishop's Waltham. On-line entry forms will be available from Jan on the same date. Workshop: 10.00am to 4.00pm - Concert: 6.30pm Both at: St. Peter's Church, Bishop's Waltham Email: veck1948@gmail.com

I have been looking for a suitable light to use with my iMac for quite a while now and recently saw one that fits on the top of any flat screen monitor made by BenQ, called the Screen Bar Monitor Light LED Light Bar, that costs £89 from Amazon. It fits neatly on the top of your monitor with a counter balance weight and takes power from a USB port. I love my Apple Watch but I become very frustrated if I forget to charge it overnight and it then runs out of juice. Now, for less than £10, it is possible to buy a portable charger that plugs into any USB that lets you charge it on the go. A great travel companion. Search for Newdery USB charger for Apple Watch. Swanmore Village Fete – Saturday 9th July from 12 noon Don’t forget to book the date in your diary now! Preparations are going well for our annual fete which will be held in the Swanmore Recreation Ground. We’re keeping all your regular favourites and following the huge success in 2019 we are going to host a dog show again, during the course of the afternoon. We’re not going to recreate Crufts, but hope to have a bit of fun and a chance for local dog-owners to show off their pet’s best attributes. There will be numerous prizes up for grabs for the best pooches in various classes. They’ll be lots of other things to do and see, especially as we’ve booked Mill Cottage Farm Experience – petting zoo. During the next few weeks, more details will be published on our Fete website page plus there will be social media postings to keep you updated on developments. The Lions’ Swanmore fete takes a lot of time and effort to plan and we need dozens of people to help us make the event work on the day. If you can volunteer for a few hours setting up the field, manning the gate or running a stall,

PROFESSIONAL / COMMUNITY No Fault Divorce is finally here, but what does it mean?

of separation before applying. This delay often added friction to an already highly emotional situation. In the ground-breaking case which set the wheels in motion to change the outdated law, Mrs Owens sought to divorce her husband stating the marriage had irretrievably broken down as a result of his unreasonable behaviour. Mr Owens did not accept that his behaviour was so bad that Mrs Owens could not reasonably be expected to live with him. The case went to the Supreme Court and the majority of Justices concluded that based on the evidence, Mrs Owens had to remain married.

On 6 April 2022, No Fault Divorce came into force. It is hoped it will enable amore amicable and constructive approach to divorce and separation.

Following a campaign by Resolution, backed by other organisations and the press to bring in No Fault Divorce, the Divorce Dissolution and Separation Act 2020 came into force on 6 April 2022. The new Act permits either party, or a joint application to be made to the court seeking a divorce. The application must include a statement that the marriage has broken down irretrievably and the court will now take this at face value and no further evidence is required. The power to decide whether a marriage has broken down irretrievably has now been given to the parties to the marriage, not the court. The ability to defend has also been removed to reduce hostility.

Before No Fault Divorce, the law stated that in order to obtain a divorce you had to prove the marriage had irretrievably broken down. To do that, the court had to be satisfied that one of five facts had been proven. Two of these facts placed blame on the other, adultery or the other party’s unreasonable behaviour. Otherwise, the parties had to wait at least two years from the date

As the shadows of war weigh heavy over this green and pleasant land, crime stirs it's ugly head. Foul murder in a country house; nobody is who they seem; everyone has something to hide. A retired Colonel and his houseful of colourful guests, cases of mistaken identity, spies and counter spies, and the odd exploding teapot... Can the hapless and aptly named Inspector Pratt uncover the truth, or true to form will his foot remain firmly 'in it'? Will anyone actually survive to see the final curtain?!? Laughter guaranteed in a heady mix of farce and Foyle's war. Curdridge Amateur Dramatic Group is staging Peter Gordon's “Secondary Cause of Death” so why not join us for an evening of riotous laughter and just a touch of intrigue when we stage this bumper version in November. It might seem a long way off but we are recruiting NOW! We start with the Play Reading on Monday 16th May in the Curdridge Reading Rooms Billiard Room at 7.45pm. Then…..Lights! Music! Action! The roar of the grease paint, the smell of the crowd! Curdridge Amateur Dramatic Group is holding open auditions for Secondary Cause of Death on Monday

RECIPE OF THE MONTH

How to make easy Flatbread and Wild Garlic Pesto

Flatbread

This flatbread recipe is made with no yeast. It is very easy to make, requiring just a minute or two of kneading. And it honestly is beautifully soft and pliable. If you’ve never tried homemade bread before, this flatbread recipe is a great one to start with because it really is that easy. The worst that can happen with this flatbread recipe is that the heat is too high when you cook it so the exterior ends up too crunchy. If that happens, just spray it with olive oil or brush lightly with oil or butter and it will moisten the surface. Try this once, and store-bought flatbreads will never be the same again. That I can promise!

Ingredients

2 cups plain flour ½ teaspoon salt 50gms unsalted butter ¾ cup of milk

Method

1 Combine butter and milk and heat until butter is just melted – on stove or in microwave. Combine 2 cups flour, salt, the butter and milk in a bowl. 2 Sprinkle work surface with flour then knead for a few minutes until it is smooth – it doesn't need much kneading. Add extra flour if the dough is too sticky. 3 Wrap with cling wrap and rest at room temperature for 30 minutes or so. 4 Dust bench top with flour, cut dough into 6 pieces, roll into balls, then roll out into 20cm / 8" rounds, 2 – 3 mm thick. 5 Heat a non-stick pan over high heat (no oil). 6 Place one flatbread in the pan, cook for around 1- 1 1/2 minutes – it should puff up dramatically. Once the underside has nice golden patches on it, flip and cook the

28

other side for 45 seconds to 1 minute until the underside has golden spots and it puffs up again. Keep wrapped in tea towel: Stack the cooked bread and keep wrapped with a tea towel – the moisture helps soften the surface, making them even more pliable.

Wild Garlic Pesto

There is nothing to compare with this springtime treat, the leaves freshly picked in the Hampshire woods. It is best made using a good quality olive oil such as my friend Cosimo’s, Rignana single Estate Virgin oil, and delicious eaten with freshly made flatbreads. I prefer to use hazelnuts, more sustainable than the traditional pine nuts. A pestle and mortar or a food processor is required. Prep time 10 minutes.

Ingredients

100gms wild garlic 50gms grated Parmesan 50gms toasted blanched hazelnuts Virgin olive oil Lemon juice to taste Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper

Method

1 Wash the leaves and blitz in a food processor until thoroughly mashed up. 2 Add the grated Parmesan and blitz again 3 Add the hazelnuts and finally olive oil to the preferred consistency. 4 Add Salt, pepper and lemon juice to taste

COMMUNITY

John Chambers Wildflower Seed supplied to Bishop’s Waltham in Bloom Bishops Waltham in Bloom is a registered charity run by a small group of Trustees, supported by a team of volunteers, who all share a passion and responsibility for planting and maintaining all the flower beds, tubs and hanging baskets in Bishop’s Waltham, Hampshire. Since 2016 this work has been extended to incorporate two main wildflower areas. A 65m2 roundabout and a 180m2 patch of open ground beside a road junction that leads from the main road through the village. Both areas have now been sown with 500gms of John Chambers Wildflower Seed Follers Manor Annual seed mix. This is a special mix of wild and cultivated annual species, originally mixed for the award-winning gardens at the stunning Follers Manor in Sussex. John Chambers Wildflower Seed has a 35-year history of supplying native British produced wildflower seed and mixes to rural and urban projects across the UK. Seed is sourced from growers that are long established and stringent in their collection processes; it is cleaned by hand, a labour-intensive process that will only achieve the highest quality standards. The team of specially trained seed cleaners only dispatch the best seed that ensures optimum growth and success no matter the climate or soil quality. Having developed many bedding and shrub beds around the village, the Trustees felt that wildflower areas would add more colour and enjoyment for local residents while supporting biodiversity and a wider range of pollinators. Therefore, the wildflower project at Bishop’s Waltham was initiated with the larger open area and followed up with the roundabout. The group received sponsorship from the Waltham Society and BW Gardening Club, in

36

addition to a grant from Winchester City Council to fund this initiative. Susan Bircher, one of the Trustees comments, “We initially experimented with different seed mixes and some plug plants, and found the annual based mixes gave much more impact and colour. We did use some perennial mixes to try and reduce the yearly workload as we are only a small group, but that created a problem for us with species like wild carrot taking over and dominating the annuals in both areas. Because of our initial experience we wanted to move back to a mix which gave us real impact for the enjoyment of local residents over a reasonable length of time. When researching options, I saw the John Chambers Follers Manor Wildflower mix and we decided the mix of indigenous wildflowers for wildlife plus the 'extras' of Nigella, California poppies and Coreopsis would give us the 'best of both worlds', and the photos on your website and the Follers Manor website looked very much what we hoped to achieve. And it did. Very successfully. Lots of colour and variety, and we had a lot of very positive feedback from the residents, which was lovely.” For further information on this specific wildflower mix visit www.johnchamberswildflowers.co.uk

CULTURE Hannah Saunders & Ben Savage A welcome return to Hambledon of Hannah and Ben who gave us a wonderful performance in 2016 before they became an established duo. Since then they have recorded two albums, toured the world and shared stages with the likes of Martin Simpson and Seth Lakeman. The remarkable purity of their vocals blends together in intimate duets accompanied on mountain dulcimer, dobro and guitar. Their material is as joyful and fun as it is intense, but the common factor is the duo’s warmth and confidence in each other; their natural ease and connection is a genuine pleasure to witness on stage.

Hambledon Folk Club

Crows A folk band who perform a mix of original and traditional music, with imaginative instrumental arrangements and powerful 4-part harmonies. Mick Ryan (lead vocals) is well known to the club, having performed here in duos with Pete Harris (vocals, guitar, bouzouki) and Paul Downes (guitar, banjo, Mando-cello and harmonies). As ‘Crows’ the three of them are joined by Dave Bordeway (fiddle, Mando-cello, high harmonies) who, like Mick, was a member of the original, much celebrated ‘Crows’ band in the 1980s. All four are well known and highly respected performers in their own right. .30pm start (doors open 8.00pm) 8 Entry: £12.00 (£10.00 members, £6.00 under 18s and students)

This weekend of celebrations commemorates Henry VIII’s visit to Bishop’s Waltham 500 years ago to the day, to sign the Treaty of Waltham along with Charles V, the Holy Roman Emperor. This treaty cemented their relationship and set the agenda for how the two monarchs would attack France in the years to come. The event is being planned and produced by members of the Bishop’s Waltham Town Team, the Bishop’s Waltham Society and the Bishop’s Waltham Museum. Entrance to the daytime events will be by ticket which will cost £10.00 for adults, £5 for 12 -18-year-olds and there will be no cost for primary age children. Tickets will be on sale from 1st May onwards online and through local outlets.

To coincide with this important anniversary, the Bishop’s Waltham Museum is mounting a special Tudor Exhibition. The museum, which is volunteer led and run, can be found in the only remaining part of the lodgings built by Bishop’s Langton in 1495. The museum will be open from 1st May 22nd and is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 12-4pm. tents and enjoy a day of wholesome good simple fun for all the family. The festival combines exciting interactive attractions and experiences with a feel-good atmosphere. The children’s area will be jam-packed with exciting activities. Children’s entertainers Sharky & George return with their imaginative and energetic games to ensure that the festival is full of bubbles, laughter and happy faces. There will be bushcraft, bubble football, laser fun, circus skills, storytelling, face painting, theatre fun and festival flower headdresses, to name a few! This year there will be a new area for the Under 5’s to keep the littlest festivalgoers entertained.

‘The Three Cockerels’ mobile bar will provide award-winning drinks from local breweries and distilleries across the South Downs.

Every penny from the festival goes towards the purchase of pioneering medical equipment for Basingstoke, Andover and Winchester NHS hospitals. This year, the Hampshire Medical Fund has a very special fund-raising target of £200,000 for the procurement of a state of the art AI (artificial intelligence) machine for interventional radiology. This machine allows minimally invasive, image guided procedures to target tumours in the lungs, kidneys & liver. There are only two of these machines in the entire United Kingdom, which makes it cutting edge technology in cancer treatment for The Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The festival launches on Saturday 25th June with an evening of sparkling wine, cocktails and canapés set against the backdrop of Bere Mill gardens. This will be followed by supper, a silent auction and a fast auction finale, accompanied by musical duo, The Canapés, on the guitar and violin. On Sunday, the doors open at 9.30am. Visitors are invited to step among the colourful festival

For shoppers, there will be local artisans, delicious local food and drink producers and an array of plant stalls to help fill your garden with summer colour. The festival venue, Bere Mill, leads the line-up of food providers with a barbeque feast sourced from the green pastures all around. The mouth-watering selection will include vegan delights, a hog roast, crêpes, ice-cream, locally roasted coffee and handmade cakes. Make sure you come hungry and thirsty!
