award winning kitchen makeovers

After Makeover

Upto 50% cheaper than a new fitted kitchen Mrs Barnell approached Happy Kitchens with a challenge. The current layout and look of her kitchen was not working, and many other companies were put off by the fact the kitchen was on the first floor and in a town house just off Winchester High Street, so parking was an issue. Not for Happy Kitchens though, we were by far the best quote for the quality and came up with the best design, leading to the kitchen pictured above installed in less than 7 days. At Happy Kitchens, we offer a wide range of makeover services ranging from replacement worktops, kitchen doors, splashbacks, hinges and wirework to new appliances and much more. We also offer new kitchen design and installation services too.

Community Wellbeing FINALLY, THE VILLAGES OF

DON'T LOSE ANY SLEEP OVER

LOCKERLEY AND EAST DEAN CAN

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME

HAVE THEIR OWN PLAYGROUND!

R

ecently, we set our clocks forward an hour to Summertime. Every year, people complain of losing an hour of sleep. And indeed, hospital records show a spike in heart attacks, blood pressure and accidents when the clocks go forward: all typical effects of sleep deprivation. In the autumn, there is a corresponding drop when the clocks go back and we gain an hour of sleep.

T

he villages of Lockerley and East Dean near Romsey have always had a large population of families with children of all ages, and yet they have never had an area of their own where children and parents can get together to play and socialise. We are pleased to announce that thanks to a very generous gift of land in Lockerley, we can now launch the exciting project of raising funds to build the Jubilee Field Playground for Lockerley and East Dean! We currently estimate that the cost of carrying out the necessary ground works and purchasing all the equipment will come to around £60,000 . We have already raised around £6,000 from generous donations and are in the process of applying for grants but we still have a long way to go. We are appealing to the local community for any practical and financial assistance they may be able to provide which can get us closer to our goal. Our fundraising programme will be packed with great events and competitions, and will be launched with the 'Pocket Theatre Pick 'n' Mix – a selection of songs and sketches from Sullivan to Sondheim!' at Lockerley Village Hall on Saturday 30th June 2018 at 7.30pm. Tickets for the concert cost £10 each and can be purchased in advance from: Lockerley Green Stores, Lockerley Green, Lockerley, SO51 0JN. Drinks and snacks will be availble to buy. For more information, help in purchasing your concert ticket or to make a donation: Phone: Kate - 01794 341276 Email: jubileefieldplayground@gmail.com. To make a donation online please visit: www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/jubileefieldplayground For more information on Pocket Theatre visit www.pockettheatre.co.uk

We may grumble once a year about having less of a Sunday lie-in, but the real problem is that all the year round we are sleeping so much less than is good for us. As a society, we still overwhelmingly lean to the idea that sleep is a self-indulgent waste of time, a third of our lives lost to idleness and oblivion. Despite the increasing flood of books and articles warning that sleep deprivation is a serious side-effect of our 24/7 globally-awake modern lives, a majority of us routinely override our own body’s signals, and are still so ignorant of how sleep works that some even boast how little sleep they need to ‘get by’. Too little sleep is known to affect your capacity to learn, and to remember; to make rational decisions, solve problems, cope with emotional and physical shock. It substantially adds to the obvious dangers of driving and operating machinery, and makes you less productive, not more.Too little sleep makes you at once more reckless and less in control than you think you are. It substantially raises your risk of a host of health problems, including obesity, cancer, diabetes and dementia; and undermines your wellbeing in every way. You can make the clock change less abrupt by preparing for it. For a few days in advance, get up a little earlier, bring forward your mealtimes by fifteen minutes, go to bed a little earlier. In the autumn, reverse the process, delaying your routines a little: so that your inner clock has time to align itself serenely with the time on the outer clocks. But for a far more radical and beneficial change, make your sleep too precious to so casually clip it short. Make time for the creative, curative processes in yourself that enable you to feel more fully alive during the daylight hours. Love your bed, love the dark, love the secret world of sleep. Community DATES ANNOUNCED FOR THE DAILY MAIL CHALKE VALLEY HISTORY FESTIVAL 2018

T

2018 marks the centenaries of women being granted the vote and the end of the First World War, and the Festival will be commemorating both of these historic events. It is also a hundred years since the birth of the RAF and, not only will the Festival be hosting a special morning on the subject, but there will also be a number of static displays, including a Spitfire with a Merlin engine that will roar into life. The ‘Forties Fever Party’ on the Saturday evening, including period live music and a firework display for the first time, will be open to everyone and free of charge to all those already at the Festival. Visitors to the Festival on the Saturday are encouraged to dress up, whether it be in pinstripes or polka dots, fancy frocks or fedoras, and there will be activities for all the family throughout the weekend. The Daily Mail Chalke Valley History Festival team is also delighted to announce that Trevor Dolby and Paul Horsley have joined as Non-Executive Directors. The full programme outlining a wide range of activities, and giving more details about the talks and debates taking place, will be announced in due course, and tickets will go on sale on 25th April. Further information about the Festival will be posted on the website at www.cvhf.org.uk over the coming months.

he dates for this year’s Daily Mail Chalke Valley History Festival, the world’s largest festival entirely devoted to history, have been announced. Set in Broad Chalke, close to the City of Salisbury, the must-attend event for history enthusiasts will take place from Monday 25th June to Sunday 1st July 2018. Offering a unique blend of talks, discussions and topical debates, alongside a vast living history through-the-ages encampment and spectacular air displays, it is the biggest annual celebration of history in the land, and an opportunity to learn about the past, whatever age you are.

For further information, please contact Alex HippisleyCox on mobile 07921 127077 or email her at ahipcoxpr@ btconnect.com

This summer the new ‘Live History Live’ programme – a series of some 50 events at the weekend – will offer visitors the chance to see, touch and feel history first hand. Each event will be presented by a leading historian who will be adding context to the specialist knowledge offered by expert living historians, who will be demonstrating a wide and fascinating range of activities, from historic cookery to surgery, using techniques and materials from the past. Amongst those already signed up to front these exciting ‘Live History Live’ events, as well as participating in the main literary programme, are: Ben Kane, Dan Jones, Alex Langlands, and Helen Castor.

STOCKBRIDGE 10K AND 2K FUN RUN

Also new for 2018, the Festival will be celebrating its ‘Chalke Valley History Heroes’. There will be a recreation of Terry Pratchett’s extraordinary writing office in a new special exhibition called ‘The Shed of Doom’ and, on the Sunday morning, courtesy of the Discworld Conjuror’s Guild, the Festival will be welcoming the fabulous and award-winning Time-Travelling Magicians Morgan & West. As in previous years, there will be a distinguished line-up of historians and commentators speaking at this year’s Festival. Community A BIG WELCOME TO BUDDY THE BIN

O

ur Environmental Service has welcomed a brand new addition to its Love Where You Live campaign in the form of a large litter bin! Buddy is the fun new mascot that will visit local community groups, organisations and schools to encourage everyone to take responsibility for keeping their area clean and free from litter.

Buddy has joined the team to celebrate Love Where You Live’s seventh anniversary. As well as thanking more than 200 Community Litter Pickers that have been involved in the project, Buddy will continue to raise awareness of events and activities that residents can get involved in. Buddy’s first appearance was at a Stockbridge Sparkle Day, where nearly five tonnes of litter was cleared, before heading over to Andover’s ASDA to join the Recycling Star to encourage people to recycle more. Environmental Portfolio Holder, Councillor Graham Stallard, said: “Buddy is already proving to be a popular addition to the team - the Stockbridge Sparkle Day attracted a lot more attention thanks to Buddy! I’d like to thank everyone involved for their hard work on the day and for helping us to remind people of the importance of keeping our environment clean and tidy.” Children from across the borough chose Buddy’s name by voting for their favourite name from three options. Good News for Wildlife! FARMERS GROUP TOGETHER TO RESTORE NATURE ACROSS HAMPSHIRE LANDSCAPE

A

t Broughton Water Buffalo, we are delighted to be members of The Wallop Brook Farmers – an initiative set up by twenty local farmers who have joined together to improve the natural environment across 4550 hectares in the Wallop Brook catchment area of Hampshire, from above where the brook rises in Over Wallop, down to the Test at Bossington. We are one of 37 groups to receive funding from DEFRA in the latest round of Countryside Stewardship Facilitation Fund awards, which will allow us to work with an experienced conservation expert and farm advisor from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust in order to find the best ways to deliver environmental improvements on our land. We believe that by coming together to manage the whole catchment from top to bottom, we can look after our natural assets and help make our farms more sustainable. This is excellent news for wildlife as we will be able to work together on a landscape scale to enhance and restore natural habitats and better aid conservation of important species including water vole, brown trout, the rare corn bunting and grey partridge, brown hare, bats, owls and rare butterflies and moths. As well as producing food, we will also be managing a range of important natural, historical and cultural assets including the brook itself, floodplain meadows and pastures, ancient woodlands, flower rich grasslands, cornfield flowers, footpaths and bridleways and ancient hedgerows. 14

Wildlife ‘corridors’ will link up the different habitats and areas will be planted with wild flower mixtures for the benefit of bees and insects in the summer. Likewise winter bird feed areas will be established to help them through the colder months. We are already monitoring water quality and river life to see where further improvements to river health and habitat can be made, and will be working to improve soil management to improve soil health and resilience against our increasingly erratic climate…. The group will also be engaging with nearby schools and colleges as well as the local community, to show how positive joined up management can enable wildlife to flourish within the farmed landscape. In 2018 so far, we have already succeeded in planting 1,000 trees in Broughton, with another 2,000 having gone into the ground in the surrounding area! We hope that this voluntary farmer network will really benefit our local flora and fauna; good for wildlife and good for us all! To find out about upcoming community events that you can get involved in, or for any further information about the project or local farming matters more generally do get in touch with Dagan at Brougton Water Buffalo: info@waterbuffalo.co.uk

he Hampshire Country & Garden Festival is dedicated to promoting the fun of the great outdoors and all it has to offer. We are celebrating the benefits to our health and wellbeing of gardening for all ages, healthy eating, inspiring speakers, learning new creative skills, enjoying music plus a wonderful array of childrens’ activities - in the most welcoming environment, the beautiful grounds of Bere Mill on the River Test. Despite the terrible tragedy of the recent fire at Bere Mill the Festival will go ahead. The event will give us the opportunity to celebrate the power of regeneration and regrowth that gardens and the great outdoors inspire in us. The Festival promotes all that is great about Hampshire, from food and drink to music, workshops and demonstrations, plant experts and nurseries. Whether you are an avid gardener or a family looking for a wholesome day out this is the event for you. As well as a truly memorable, fun and informative experience all the money we raise is going to the North Hampshire Medical Fund which supports our local hospitals and patients in Basingstoke, Andover and Winchester. We have a fine array of wonderful nursery stalls to browse manned by passionate plants people. Come and explore a feast of horticultural treasures and purchase a selection to plant in your garden at home. There will also be a wide range of other stalls selling gifts, food, confectionary, wine and spirits, with opportunities to taste some of Hampshire's finest produce.

One of the highlights of the Hampshire Country & Garden Festival will be a ‘Gardeners’ Question Time’. Chaired by Stefan Buczacki, well known former panelist and Chairman on Radio 4’s ‘Gardeners’ Question Time’ he also wrote and presented ‘The Gardening Quiz’ on Radio 4. One of the most experienced and prolific non-fiction authors in the country, he has written around sixty books. Also on the panel are high profile and popular garden personalities that include David Jewel, Jane Owen and Sarah Eberle. A Gala Evening will launch the Festival at Bere Mill on Saturday 9th June. LAWN NUTRITION

awns are hungry feeders; let’s take a look at what they need to remain healthy throughout the year. Far too few gardeners understand what goes into the perfect lawn. Most think it is okay to pick up a bag of weed & feed, sprinkle it liberally on the lawn and all will be okay. Your lawn has a complex relationship with nutrition, which changes throughout the growing season and these things need to be taken into consideration if you want a healthy, attractive, disease free lawn. You may be thinking that surely it can’t be that complicated. Let’s try to explain the basics. When it comes to lawn nutrition there are really three main things to think about; fertiliser composition, timing and application methods.

Fertilisation is important as it influences the colour of your lawn, its ability to cope with the stresses of drought, mowing and extremes of temperature and to fight against disease and weed infiltration. Choosing the right fertiliser and applying it correctly really is the key to success. Chemical and organic fertilisers display the nutrient content by way of three different numbers. These three numbers represent the compounds Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium (or Potash). Often displayed as N-P-K. The numbers correspond to the percentage of each of these compounds in the fertiliser inside the pack. That’s the easy bit! What each of these compounds does for the plant is probably the most important part. Nitrogen helps leaf growth. Phosphorus helps the growth of roots and flowers, and Potassium is important for the overall health of the plant. When to promote leaf or root growth is really the key to successful lawn nutrition. You want healthy leaf growth in the growing season to encourage a stronger grass plant, but you don’t want to go into winter with too much leaf that can be damaged by the bad weather. High nitrogen fertilisers encourage quick leaf growth but potentially make the plant more susceptible to the attacks of pests and diseases. Phosphorus is important going into winter to encourage healthy and robust roots to support your lawn throughout the challenging months ahead. Another important factor in selecting the right lawn fertiliser is the type of nitrogen actually in the product. Nitrogen fertiliser may consist

20

of fast-release or controlled-release nitrogen. For lawns, fertilisers containing controlled-release nitrogen sources are best. Lawn care professionals tend to use coated granular product. The coating is formulated to break down gradually over time, therefore providing a slow release of fertiliser as the plants require it. Cheaper fertilisers break down with moisture. We use a technical fertiliser which activates as the temperature increases, ensuring that as the days warm and the plant needs more nutrition it is gradually made available. It tends to be more expensive but it certainly is effective, provides professional results and gradual grass growth, rather than a sudden burst of growth resulting in excess mowing requirements. So we have covered composition and also timing of application. Let’s take a look at application methods. Most home owners who buy their lawn feed from the garden centre will have a choice between granular or liquid feeds. As we mentioned earlier, ideally you want a product that releases its nutrients into your lawn slowly, as required, over time. There are two downsides to cheaper liquid feeding. The first is that it tends to be immediate. Your lawn gets an instant food hit then nothing. The other issue is that liquid feeding can be very time consuming and it’s difficult to get the application rates right. We do use liquid, foliar feeds later in the season when we can mix a complex combination of micro-nutrients, amino acids and soil conditioners in a slow release formula that's more appropriate for professional use. Controlled-release granular feed is by far the best choice for amateur use. Most gardeners will attempt to apply this themselves and this can create issues. Application by hand is almost impossible to get right. The granules slip through your fingers easily and distribution is uneven. Apply too much to one area and you scorch the grass, often blackening or killing it in patches. Uneven application results in uneven grass growth. Ideally use is a broadcast spreader consisting of a hopper holding the fertiliser and releasing a controlled amount onto a rotating disk, powered by the forward movement of the wheels, distributing the granules in a controlled and even manner. The amount of fertiliser released is controlled by adjusting holes in the base. Getting the quantities right is important and you must calibrate the spreader before you use it, based on the flow rate of the fertiliser, the granule size, the application rate required and the size of the hopper holes. It’s important not to miss any of the lawn or to overlap as you make each pass with the spreader to avoid stripes. I’ve tried to make things as simple as possible but lawn nutrition, product selection and application rates can be relatively complicated. By the time you have bought the product, the right applicator and factored in the time it takes to carry out the work, you can usually save money by asking a lawn care professional to help look after this part of your garden for you. After all, if you want professional results then a professional is usually the person to ask. Ian Kenyon owns Shrekfeet Lawn and Garden Services. The Cuckoo & the Rhododendron

S

pring days are just perfect for woodland walks where you can witness the breathtaking displays of rhododendrons and azaleas, and where if you are lucky, you might just catch the haunting call of the cuckoo. Interestingly enough, both the cuckoo and the rhododendron have similar reputations. They are capable of fascinating us, yet at times can be an irritant as they both share the characteristic of being intruders. Some horticulturists bemoan the presence of woodland rhododendrons because they soak up the goodness in the soil and often rapidly encroach on surrounding areas. However, here in Hampshire, there is no better place to witness rhododendrons and azaleas in all their glory, than in the woodland gardens of Exbury Gardens in the New Forest. This is where the Rothschild family has created a world famous collection, which really is, a breathtaking sight and not to be missed. Is it little wonder then, that it was once said the Rothschilds were ‘bankers by hobby and gardeners by profession’? It is of course easy to become captivated by the vivid displays of colour that rhododendrons are so famous for, or be charmed by the heavenly scent of azaleas, while at the same time forgetting these shrubs can be high maintenance. You will need to treat them with care if you want them to flourish in your garden. Firstly, they need exacting soil conditions, which includes an acid environment as they will not tolerate a chalky or lime bed. Secondly, keep them out of direct sun and in particular the early morning sun, while also shielding them from cold drying winds. They like moisture without having their feet too wet and if you want, bright, beautiful blooms the following spring, you need to give them a good feed after flowering. If you cannot cope with their demanding natures perhaps it is best to stick to springtime woodland walks so you can feast your eyes on displays such as Exbury, and you never know, as an extra treat, you might just hear that haunting call of the cuckoo… www.hambrooks.co.uk

HOUGHTON LODGE GARDENS SPRINGS INTO COLOUR FOR 2018 SEASON

S

wathes of riverside daffodils, dainty crocus, hyacinths and bright blue scilla will set the scene on the 1st April as Houghton Lodge Gardens opens its gates for the 2018 season. Early visitors to the Hampshire garden which lies just outside Stockbridge, will be treated to the heart-warming sights of spring across the Walled Garden, Long Border, Peacock Garden and the rolling lawns down to the River Test. The Mini Tulip Festival returns mid – late April providing a splash of colour across the Walled Garden’s raised beds and borders. Planted in regimental rows and romantic drifts, visitors can expect a variety of colour from the bold to the pale, and textures such as the wispy petals of fringed varieties and the traditional smooth, classic tulip curves. This year, the beds will feature varieties such as the burnt orange and terracotta of Tulip Jimmy, the deep opulence of Tulip Ronaldo, the subtle scent and fire orange of Ballerina, the dainty blousy white and purple Shirley, and the pretty lilac of Negrita. Having enjoyed the abundance of spring, visitors can tuck into delicious homemade cakes and light refreshments in Honesty at Houghton Lodge tearoom.Visit the tearooms between the 1st April and 6th April for a free chocolate brownie with a purchase of a hot drink, which you can enjoy in The Orangery or on the patio in the spring sunshine. 2018 Seasons Highlights include: Music on the Test in July, Art Exhibitions in The Orangery, Apple Day in September and House Tours (must be pre booked, see website for dates and details) Houghton Lodge Gardens open on Sunday 1st April until 30th September 11am – 5pm Monday to Friday and 10am – 5pm on weekends and Bank Holidays.

E

veryone loves a cottage garden. Maybe it’s because so many of us have fond memories of our grandparents’ gardens – always more intriguing and inviting to a child than their own garden.

We think of cottage gardens as informal and abundant with combinations of perennial plants, self seeding plants, shrubs and climbing plants artfully mixed to give a full, billowing, naturalistic effect. Old fashioned roses and other scented shrubs should be included. The flowering currant, Ribes sanguineum is a welcome splash of colour and fragrance in spring, followed by flowering cherries and blossom of the fruit trees. The white flowered mock orange, Philadelphus, and lilac, Syringa vulgaris are lovely in early summer. Our native foxglove is a cottage garden favourite and especially the white form Digitalis purpurea f. alba for a more sophisticated take on the style. It can be luminous against a dark background. Other spikes and spires are delphiniums, lupins, and, a cottage garden essential, hollyhocks. At the feet of these tall plants can be billowing lavender, hardy geraniums, Alchemilla mollis and Stachys byzantina and self seeding annuals such as Calendula officinalis. Cottage gardens offer many choices for bees and butterflies as the flower shapes are so varied that there is something for almost every species. Birds will also love the shrubs, fruit trees and nesting places. No wonder we can’t give up our love affair with cottage gardens. ROMSEY AUCTION GENERATES OVER

STOCKBRIDGE MUSIC CONCERT: FRIDAY 20TH APRIL IN STOCKBRIDGE TOWNHALL - 7.30PM - MAIASTRA STRING QUARTET

£2,000 FOR RUM'S EG

O

ver £2,000 has been generated by an auction in Romsey. Kind-hearted local artists and craftspeople provided over 50 donations ranging from paintings to ceramics, jewellery and workshop tuition in order to raise funds for Rum's Eg, the community interest company, in Bell Street. The venture, which operates as a gallery with more than 20 volunteers, has lost valuable trade since Bell Street was closed for road works last September. "We are so thankful to all the supportive local residents who bought most of the work," says organiser and Rum's Eg manager Rebecca Maddox. "It has certainly helped to plug a gap but of course we need to do much more." With this in mind the Rum's Eg offering is evolving. There are plans to convert space within the building into studio workshops available to hire for an attractive price on a monthly basis. "These spaces are going to be 10ft x 10ft and the hire charge will include wi-fi and all bills," says Rebecca, adding that there has already been interest. For more information contact Rebecca on: Tel. 01794 511220 Email: info@hampshireartandcraft.org Web: www.hampshireartandcraft.org

ANDOVER CHORAL SCHUMANN REQUIEM - SATURDAY 5 MAY

T

his string quartet will be made up of advanced students who will have been on a ten week chamber music course organised by the Aidan Woodcock Trust whose main objective is to provide each year four courses for such students. These post graduate level students are planning to make chamber music their career or part of their career. Each course culminates in three public concerts and they approached Stockbridge Music to ask if they could come to Stockbridge to perform one of their evening concerts. They will be led by an established professional player, currently Professor Arisa Fujita of the Guildhall School. I have never started a season with two string quartets, but, on the other hand, I have never before been approached by two remarkable organisations to host such evenings, one at the top of the professional market, the other being at the top end of the student market, exactly fulfilling the aims of Stockbridge Music.

They will be playing:

Beethoven String Quartet in D major, Op.18, No.3 Shostakovich String Quartet in C major. Op.49 Brahms String Quartet in C minor.Op.5l No.2

Tickets, £14, are on sale from;

www. jumblebee.co.uk/stockbridgemusic The Lights Theatre Box Office: 01264 368368 The local box offices will open one month before the concert Sponsored by: The'Wykeham Gallery Stockbridge

The Requiem combines intensely heartfelt and moving passages with rousing choruses, striking dramatic moments, and serene beauty. By complete contrast, Brahms’ Liebeslieder-Walzer are a collection of love poems set to music for four voices and piano duet - making an interesting pairing for the Schumann as there is speculation they may have been inspired by Brahms’ frustrated love for Schumann’s wife, Clara.

A

ndover Choral Society return to St Mary’s Church on Saturday 5 May 2018 with contrasting works by two giants of German 19th-century music: Schumann’s rarelyperformed late work, the Requiem, and the unashamedly exuberant Liebeslieder-Walzer (Love song waltzes) by Brahms. 30

Joined by four first-rate soloists and the choir’s rehearsal pianist Julie Aherne, this promises to be a moving yet uplifting evening exploring both light and dark sides of the choral repertoire. Tickets £12, available from the choir on 01264 396511, or from The Lights on 01264 368368 and at thelights.org.uk. PHOTOGRAPHY COURSES WITH SALLY EDWARDS

THE CITIZENS WALLPAPER AND THE SEARCH FOR THE GOLDEN LION

M

artin Nangle brings an exciting original exhibition to Salisbury Library's Gallery 4 until April 28th. The Citizens Wallpaper and The Search for the Golden Lion brings together photojournalism from 1990s Transylvania and 2018 Myanmar/Burma, with excerpts from the Citizens Wallpaper project. What unites these disparate materials is a focus on ordinary people and their lives. The whole exhibition demonstrates how photojournalism can assist local communities in creating their own artistic visual representations. The Citizens Wallpaper project began in Transylvania in the 1990s and continues in several locations around the world. It brings together materials from Nangle’s travels with visual elements produced by artists and communities that result in a photographic representation of traditions and cultures in a series of large collages. This creates an everexpanding dialogue between places and peoples that reflects diversity in a positive and respectful way.

Speaker: Dr. Louise Govier, General Manager and Curator, Mottisfont Abbey

Following Louise’s fascinating talk last year on looking at art, in general, she is now going to unpick the layers of one of Britain’s most enigmatic Tudor portraits. We can discover all sorts of hidden meanings, from widely used symbols to more secretive messages. Produced at a time of religious and political turmoil, this huge painting was clearly designed to communicate on multiple levels. When does plausible art history become conspiracy theory, and what did this painting really mean when it was first painted? Before joining the National Trust, Louise worked for The Art Fund, was an art history lecturer and was Head of Adult Learning at the National Gallery. Her books include 'One Hundred Great Paintings' (Yale University Press / National Gallery, 2010). Despite her general management role, she remains attached to her first love, Art History. Entrance £5, includes a glass of wine or soft drink. No booking necessary. All are welcome, and full students are free of charge. This will be held at Broughton VIllage Hall at 8pm on Wednesday 18th April
