PAUL THINKING THOUGHTS Hey Dudes and Dudettes, I hope my words find you well. Well, what a month it has been. Many individuals in the North American Hemisphere celebrated a holiday known as Thanksgiving. It is seen by many as an opportunity to reflect upon all the experiences of the past year and to be appreciative of all that occurred. There are many family gatherings that take place which often include a large Turkey Dinner which sometimes give some family members the incentive to be thankful such gatherings only take place once a year. I have a good number of family members of whom I enjoyed the holiday with along with plenty of anti depressant medication and spiked eggnog to keep me relaxed. Smiles. The holiday afforded me with yet another opportunity to reflect upon all the wonderment the arts have shared with me throughout the year. The many experiences, performances, images, and friends I made during my adventures will always provide me with an attitude of gratitude as I go through the days of the coming year. This appreciation gives me an anticipatory hope for a future that will be even more enriching throughout my travels. Thank you for all for your talents, love, and for being my friend. I love you. Yet, I’m moved to think about those who suffer misfortune and often are denied the ability to fully participate in endeavors the inspire hope; not alone appreciation for one’s daily experiences. Another holiday closely akin to Thanksgiving will soon be upon us which many individuals of the Christian Faith celebrate. Christmas is known as a time of giving. Although this philanthropic concept has become a bastardized standard bearer for Capitalism, the purity of the notion we can and should help our brothers and sisters still holds its place in our hearts. There are many who ask me if The Forwardian Arts Society is a community organization. My answer is yes. But, we consider the homeless, those suffering from drug and alcohol addiction, and others whom society tends to sidestep and abhor as part of the community. One of the prevailing tenets of our fellowship is Love. Love is all inclusive and bars no one from encountering its effects. Nor does it bars anyone from expressing its wonderful effects as we encounter the wide variety of individuals we meet each day. There are many things in the world that inhibits such expressions but love isn’t one of them. So, I would like to do something that will help promote The Forwardian Arts Society and its guiding principles. And that is to Love. Love the arts, love others, and love yourself. Even if you’re not motivation by The Forwardian Arts Society or its guiding principles, love anyway. Loving for its own sake is frothed with awards that enhance the perspective one utilizes in interpreting his or her life and making it a wonderful dance instead of a funeral dirge. Let’s dance. Well, that’s all from me for now. How are you? Please feel free to ask me any questions you may have about this publica tion, The Forwardian Arts Society, or anything at all. I promise to tell you everything. I would make a terrible spy. I look forward to hearing from you soon and I'll keep a good thought for you until then. Going Forwardian with you Paul Adam Smeltz The Forwardian Arts Society
