How long have you lived in Hampstead Village? We’ve lived here for almost six years and love it. Why did you decide to buy here? It has everything – great houses, good schools, lots of places to shop and eat in and a close proximity to the City. We are located between the Heath and the high street, and so one minute we feel like we’re in the country, and the next we’re back in the city. What do you like most about it? Its village-y feel. There’s a great sense of community and a good mix of people; it’s understated and laid back. Describe the area in five words Green, chic, central, familial, arty. What are your favourite local cafés and restaurants? The Wells Tavern at the end of our road is by far the best pub in London; the staff and food are amazing. Then Piccola for the yummiest Italian food in all of London (I have tried almost

I love Maje for Parisian chic clothes, Judy Green’s Garden Store for sorting out our window boxes, Louis for delicious cakes, TeaCup for a fashion fix, Cass Art I can get lost in, and California Nail Bar for the best value mani and pedi. Describe your perfect day here Grab a coffee and croissant from GAIL’s, and then a long walk on the Heath with the family. Lunch at Piccola, followed by a mooch around
the shops and a quick peek in Gilden’s Arts on my own. Then a blow-dry at Aveda, followed by drinks and a movie at the Everyman. What do you look for in a property? Ultimately, space and a good-sized garden. Also, good ceiling height, some period features and scope to personalise. We live in a townhouse, but now, with a small child, are craving more lateral living! Have you done much work on your home? Yes – we completely gutted it when we bought it, changed some of the layout and made it more in our style. Describe your interiors style Contemporary with a sumptuous, cosy feel. We love Italian design and modern art. If you hadn’t chosen here, where else might you have looked? Belsize Park or Primrose Hill. Finally, what’s new for you? My business partner and I have recently launched Aurora Living. We sell quality, bespoke leather goods and jewellery – and we’ll be moving on to lifestyle wares shortly.
