Acting will always be Emily Taaffe’s first love, but after writing her first short film, she has discovered that the joy of storytelling comes in many forms

There’s few who won’t recognise our cover girl Emily: if you’re not currently watching her in BBC Two’s thriller Paula, chances are you saw her in last year’s War and Peace – she starred as Katya. Then there have been appearances in a host of other television shows including Death in Paradise, Call the Midwife and Stan Lee’s Lucky Man. And with starring roles at the National and the Open Air Theatre under her belt, she’s a familiar face to theatregoers, too. But first and foremost, Emily’s keen to talk to me about an altogether different project. Her first foray into writing: a short film called Little Bird, which is close to her heart in more ways than one.

In fact she’s fresh off the plane from premiering it at New York’s Tribeca Film Festival and feeling – aside from jet lagged – over the moon about its reception. “We were so pleased with the feedback we received.

It’s such a prestigious festival, and we were in the amazing company of extraordinary filmmakers, so it was quite the privilege, really,” she smiles.

Little Bird tells the story of a young woman joining the Women’s Royal Naval Service in 1941 and explores how far she will go to create a new life for herself. Emily explains that it was inspired by her own grandmother’s sister, Christine, “who left Ireland in the 1940s and was never heard from again.” In fact, her story only came to light a couple of years back when FABRICMAGAZINE.CO.UK

“I’ve always been really fascinated by history, and by stories. So I went to the Imperial War Museum and I started reading lots of first-hand accounts of women”

it gives you to look at life from a different angle: the opportunity to be in somebody else’s shoes and to explore the world from their perspective,” she tells me.

Right now, that story is Olivier- and Tony-award-winner, Conor McPherson’s psychological drama Paula, which is currently showing on BBC Two. The three-part series, in which Emily plays a police woman, is about the fallout in a young chemistry teacher’s life after her one-night stand with a good-looking but dangerous ducker and diver.

“The director was wonderful and it was a really great team, so yeah, I’m excited to see how it all turns out,” she smiles.

I’m amazed that she hasn’t seen it already, but she explains: “It’s funny, the thing with television, which is very different to theatre, is that I will be watching it along with everybody else.” No spoilers for me, then!

Like most actors, Emily started out on the stage, with roles in her local youth theatre, so, though she is coming to appreciate the excitement of television, theatre will always be her first love: “There is something incredible about the immediacy of when you are on stage and the audience are reacting and you’re getting to tell that story in a very pure form.” It comes as no surprise, then, that when I ask what she considers to be her breakout role, Emily does not even have to think before answering. “Playing Daphne, the lead at the Olivier, in a wonderful production by Mark Ravenhill of a Terry Pratchett novel [Nation]. It was a dream come true. In the real sense. It was everything I hoped it would be and more.”

Of course, any job that keeps her here in London is already off to a good start. “I’ve lived in London for twelve years now, so I consider myself a Londoner,” she grins. “I love it because you can never be bored. There is always something that you could be doing or seeing. We’re really spoilt in terms of the culture, and it’s such a great atmosphere. And I love how many green spaces there are…” I press her on favourite haunts. “I love how each different area in London has its own distinctive feel and energy,” she explains, diplomatically.

“I do love The Southbank, though. I love walking along from the BFI to Festival Hall; there’s just so much along there. And I love going to The National Gallery and The Royal Academy.

I love the Summer Exhibition there.” But she is, she tells me, happiest when she is “at home with my husband and my dog, just curled up on the sofa.” No doubt catching up on the latest episode of Paula. Simple pleasures.

her son made contact with the family in Ireland. “My aunt had a knock on the door, and a very distinguished English gentleman was standing there, and he said: ‘I think we might be cousins’,’’ says Emily.

He was able to shine a light on what had happened all those years ago. “Christine had gone to England where she had joined the women’s branch of the RAF. She went to Egypt as part of her service, and married a serviceman in Cairo. And when they were demobbed they came back to England and had two children. And she told her children that she was an orphan and that she had no family whatsoever to speak of. Unfortunately anybody who might have known why she made that decision is now dead, so we will never be able to find out the story behind it,” Emily explains.

This intrigued Emily, who confesses, “I’m a big nerd, basically! I’ve always been really fascinated by history and by stories, so I went to the Imperial War Museum and I started reading lots of first-hand accounts of women who had joined up to serve. There were so many brilliant books and first-hand accounts and letters home. And what kept coming through to me, really strongly, was that for so many of these women, the war presented a means of escape. It was a chance for them to broaden their horizons and have a set of experiences that they wouldn’t otherwise have had a chance to explore.” It was, essentially, a hiatus in history; and for Emily it became the germ of a story.

Given that this story was about women, Emily was adamant that it should be told by women. “There have been so many reports about how women and men graduate from film school in the same numbers, but then, as the years go by, the numbers of women drop off incrementally and there are fewer and fewer women working in the industry,” Emily tells me, continuing. “I think that there is a real laziness, a cultural bias that means you go back to the same people again and again, and often they are men. This was an opportunity to prove that if you looked a bit harder and dug a bit deeper, you could find these very talented women and bring them together.” And she did just that, with a final shoot crew made up of 80 per cent females.

Spurred on by the feedback from Tribeca, Emily is looking to develop the film into a longer-form project – specifically a television series. “Although the inspiration for this story came from a personal story for me, there are so many more incredible tales and adventures that we are really interested in exploring and telling,” she explains.

These things obviously take time and this is, of course, a long-term goal, but for Emily, the appeal of acting is that there are always stories to be told. “I love the opportunity

LVL LASHES at Vaishaly

Mascara and holidays don’t mix: from long journeys to breezy beaches and swimming pool dips, even the hardiest of waterproof formulations will struggle to see you through to sundowner time in hot, sweaty climates.

Back in the day I favoured extensions for an always-made-up look, but low maintenance they most certainly weren’t, and once the false lashes started to drop out, the look was anything but natural. So I’m excited to try something that will work to enhance what’s already there, and has the potential to last up to six weeks. And given that the treatment is being offered at superfacialist Vaishaly’s famous Marylebone clinic, I know I’ll be in safe hands. During an LVL (aka length, volume, lift) treatment, lashes are straightened rather than curled, to give a longer, more lifted look. Applied with a lash

tint, I’m told that the results should mean I can leave the mascara and curlers at home.

I’m settled on to a bed and instructed to close my eyes. Silicone shields are applied to my eyelids and my lashes are combed out and attached with glue before solutions are applied, first to alter the shape and texture of the hairs, then to set them in place.

Finally, the tint is applied. It takes 45 minutes and I find the process quite enjoyable – the bed is comfortable, the music is soft and I’ve nothing to do but lie back and relax.

The results are instant (though I’m instructed not to get my lashes wet for at least 24 hours) and jaw dropping. I’ve never received so many compliments as I do over the course of the next few days. ORGANIC COLOUR SYSTEMS at Karine Jackson

The closest I’ve come to virgin hair since my teen years was the time I had extensions. Which, for my own hair, meant even more processing heartache. The chemicals have been bothering me of late – I’ve had an insanely itchy scalp – but I refuse to go grey gracefully, so I’m opting for a gentler approach: organic colour, which is surprisingly hard to find. One convert is Karine Jackson – newly appointed president of the Fellowship for British Hairdressing – whose Covent Garden salon uses Organic Colour Systems. Their products contain the lowest possible amount of PPD (which makes hair colour permanent – it is necessary to cover greys, but also most associated with allergic reactions) and are free from ammonia.

What started as a favour to a client who had been diagnosed with cancer has become a way of life for the hairdresser, who also tells me that since switching to the dyes, a hacking cough which

had plagued her for years has disappeared completely.

She’s so reassuring that I tell her she can have free rein with my hair. It’s almost disappointing that she likes the current colour (grey roots aside) and thinks that longer hair suits me. Rather than anything dramatic, she plans to brighten up the tone, lighten up the ends and chop into the body.

Organic colour works slightly differently, in that the hair is washed first to open the cuticles.

The other difference is the smell, or lack of, which makes for an altogether more pleasant experience, especially when sat under the heat of the processor.

The results are fantastic. The colour shines and I can already feel the difference on my scalp.

And with Karine’s cut and clever blow dry, it’s happy hair days all around. Au revoir ammonia, I’m converted to kinder colours.

Food&drink Global cuisine Alyn Williams’ annual series of collaborative dinners returns this month – and for the first time, all of the chefs participating in CHEFstock will be visting from outside the UK. On each Wednesday in June, Alyn and a guest chef will create a unique eight-course tasting menu, to be served to diners at his restaurant Alyn Williams at The Westbury. INGREDIENTS For the dressing 40g cashews 3 tbsp plain yoghurt Handful of coriander leaves Juice of ¼ lime ½ tsp Himalayan salt or sea salt ¼ tsp ground cumin 80ml coconut water ¼ green chilli For the salad 70g kale (about 3 handfuls) 150g red cabbage (about ¼) 5 pitted dates, preferably Medjool 150g strawberries, plus a few extra to garnish 2 tbsp sesame seeds Handful of flaked almonds, to garnish

METHOD 1 Prepare the dressing in advance so the cashews can soak. Mix together all the dressing ingredients and leave for at least a couple of hours (or overnight).

2 You can make the base of the salad just before serving, or make a few hours in advance and keep in the fridge until ready to dress and serve. To make the salad, chop the kale and cabbage as finely as possible, removing any thick stalks from the kale.

Chop the dates into small pieces so there aren’t any large clumps. Lastly, chop the strawberries into small pieces. Mix together the kale, cabbage, dates, chopped strawberries and sesame seeds in a large bowl.

3 To make the dressing, in a blender or food processor blend together all the dressing ingredients and taste for seasoning, adding extra salt, lime or chilli if required.

4 When ready to eat, place the salad on a serving plate and drizzle the dressing over the top. Quarter the reserved strawberries for the garnish, add to the top of the salad, sprinkle with almond flakes and serve immediately.

They’ve been serving up fish and chips at 205 Upper Street for over 50 years, and the new owners (Fork and Blade, the team behind Firedog in Fitzrovia) have no plans to change that. But they do have some fairly big ideas around how they can reduce the harmful impact of irresponsible fishing. Namely, by championing sustainable fish – making waves for the lesser-known stars of the sea, if you will.

First impressions are promising. The look is chic industrial: smooth concrete and contrasting textured bricks. It’s not cold, though. Glowing lanterns make the space feel cosy and an open kitchen lends an informal atmosphere. Just right for a laid-back catch-up with friends.

Executive chef George Notley’s menu focuses on oftendisregarded fish, such as cuttlefish, coley and sprat, caught fresh on the day. There are no freezers here, which means that once it’s gone, it’s gone (and that the restaurant is shut on Mondays since it’s a traditional day off for trawlermen).

But you can guarantee that everything is super fresh.

For starters, charred asparagus, sprinkled with crispy fish skin salt; and air-dried octopus, beautifully presented on a bed of green tomatoes and chilli. Both are delicious and we wash them down with glasses of Picpoul de Pinet, a lively complement to fish dishes. Having never tasted Hake, I opt for that from the main menu and am delighted with my choice. Perfectly pan roasted, with a crispy skin, it comes accompanied by tiny, delicate wild mushrooms, cauliflower and puy lentils – a dish packed full of flavour and texture.

My friend tucks into chargrilled gurnard, served with salsify, sprouting broccoli, sorrel and salted anchovies, and is equally pleased with her choice. For dessert, buttermilk panna cotta and poached rhubarb, which is simply superb.

The science of food When chef Jozef Youssef opened his dining design studio to group bookings, the 13-course multisensory menu exploring the science and psychology behind how we perceive flavour proved so popular that he’s now introduced a monthly “round table” series of Gastrophysics Chef’s Table events, which can be booked by individuals rather than groups. Based on research with Oxford University’s Professor Charles Spence, author of the newly released book Gastrophysics – the immersive Kitchen Theory experience has been crafted to engage all of the senses and encourage diners to question how they taste food. “The chef’s table features lights, sounds, aromas – and even a projection mapped table to create a memorable experience with delicious food,” Jozef says.

Proving that there’s always something new to experience in this big city we call home, Jason Atherton launches an exciting new cocktail concept at City Social this month. And we promise this is like nothing you’ve seen before – though perhaps that should read: like nothing you think you’ve seen before, because Mirage is the world’s first augmented reality cocktail list. Created by group bar executive of The Social Company, Jamie Jones, and City Social bar manager, Tim Laferla, it has been an incredible 18 months in the making and is supported by a purpose-built app, developed by Mustard Designs. The inspiration is “art through the ages”, with each serve influenced by a different artist or era, from Van Gogh to Banksy. The cocktails might look like any other, but point the app at them and the augmented reality technology comes into play, turning great tasting drinks into interactive art. Details are being kept under wraps, so that’s pretty much all we know about Mirage.

Rediscovering Denmark The ephemeral nature of the Nordic sunshine casts Scandinavia’s southernmost nation in a whole new light during a late spring break WO RDS KA R E N H E A N EY

We are in Denmark, but not the snuggled-up-infront-of-a-woodburning-stove hygge version.

Instead, we are walking along a windswept beach, under a cloudless sky. The light is extraordinary – eyeball-searingly bright – and there is nothing but sand between us and the horizon. This is Grenen, in Jutland, Denmark’s most northerly point, where the North Sea meets the Baltic.

The area is hugely popular with Danish visitors but largely undiscovered by the rest of the world. Which, given its outstanding natural beauty, fabulous new Nordic cuisine and picturesque seaside towns, is a little surprising. It could give New England a run for its money.

Just a couple of miles down the road lies Skagen (the locals pronounce it “skain”). The luminous quality of the light on the peninsula drew artists to this little fishing village in the late nineteenth century. The Skagen Painters found fame and the tourists soon followed. Now it’s the country’s chicest resort – the Danish royal family built a villa here – but it has retained its charm.

We’re staying at the Hotel Plesner, a delightful boutique guesthouse with a laid-back beach house vibe. Our room is quintessentially Scandi – a symphony of white and cool grey, accented with bold nautical stripes. Skagen is Denmark’s largest fishing port and we have distant views of the harbour, where enormous factory ships overshadow sleek ocean-going yachts and modest fishing boats.

The following day we make our way to Gammel Skagen – the old town – where little streets of yellow-painted, red-roofed cottages eventually peter out into mile after mile of sand dunes. Our lunch destination is Ruths Hotel, a charming beachside establishment founded in 1904 and lovingly restored at the start of the millennium by one of Denmark’s richest entrepreneurs. There’s a Confirmation party in full swing when we arrive and we are surprised to see the party girl in a prom dress, posing for a photograph next to a yellow Lamborghini.

The sports car roars off, and free of distractions, we focus on Ruths’ brasserie menu (classic French with a Danish twist). Seafood is the star of the show. I order salmon tartare, my partner opts for hake. Both are outstanding.

Later we head to Skagen’s newly refurbished Art Museum, dedicated to the Skagen Painters. Heavily influenced by the French Impressionists, the paintings capture the drama of the landscape, the ever-changing light and the austere lives of the fishing community. Just

around the corner, the Anchers Hus museum gives us a tantalising glimpse into the lives of two of the leading artists of the colony, Michael and Anna Ancher. Their house and studio has been lovingly restored, with many of the original contents in situ. It is charming and intimate.

Back at the hotel we steal a sunny hour in the secluded garden, before heading out for dinner at Kokkenes, another of Skagen’s culinary hotspots. We arrive at 7pm (the Danes eat very early) to find the restaurant buzzing.

Once again, seafood takes centre stage, and we enjoy a four-course tasting menu with wine pairing. There is a large party next to us and at the end of the meal they burst into song. On the way out, one of the guests reveals that they are a Norwegian choir on tour. We love that in a high-end restaurant no-one bats an eyelid – there’s a delightful informality to fine dining here.

On our final morning here, we head out of the Old Town, into the dunes, to pick up a walking trail that will lead us to the Sand-Buried Church. This wondrously named landmark is all that remains of a 16th-century church that was obliterated by the shifting sands. All that’s left is a majestic white tower, marooned in the middle of the dunes. There are magnificent views to be had from the top, but vertigo gets the better of us and we

make our way back to the town. It would be rude to leave Denmark without sampling the Smorsbord, so our last meal in Skagen is dedicated to these delicious open sandwiches.

The glorious light and the windswept beaches draw visitors here year-round. And it is surprisingly accessible – two hours by train or three hours by car from Aalborg (and its international airport). Billed as Denmark’s happiest city, Aalborg is undergoing a renaissance. The waterfront is being redeveloped and the city boasts some stunning civic architecture – a striking concert hall; an arts centre designed by the starchitect Jørn Utzon, who designed the Sydney Opera House; and the recently renovated Modern Art Museum – the building is the work of Finnish mid-century architect Alvar Aalto and houses a stunning collection of contemporary Danish art. Hotel accommodation is limited but Comwell Hvide Hus is a business hotel with impressive Scandi interiors. Foodies won’t want to miss the new Nordic cuisine offered by destination restaurant Mortens Kro, while Café Lindholm, next door to the Viking Museum and the eerie Viking burial ground at Lindholm Høje, gives a historic spin to contemporary Danish cuisine. The city’s medieval centre, with cobbled alleys punctuated by independent shops and some surprising street art, is an added draw.

MAKING MORE OF MODERNISM Our nostalgia for mid-century modernist estates has never been stronger and in an overcrowded city like ours, it’s not only aesthetics, but necessity that has seen us rediscover – and fall in love with – the hard-edged architecture of yesteryear. Delving deep into our current affection for Brutalism, this Fitzrovian exhibition examines the appeal of the high-rise and poses the questions: how can the tenets of modernism be relevant now; and what are we preserving when we refurbish and renew modernist buildings?

The founder of Hostmaker, an Airbnb management start-up that services more than six hundred London homes, gives us a tour of his South Hampstead apartment – a bright and quirky period two-bed, which he shares with his wife, Deepti WOR DS A LI HOWA R D

What made you fall in love with the flat?

We wanted something local with a past, a history to it.

We didn’t want a new-build that we could find equally in Dubai or Singapore or anywhere else in the world; it wouldn’t feel like London for us. So we were really looking for a London home with a very British style, that we couldn’t have found anywhere else.

Tell us about living in South Hampstead: what’s on your doorstep?

We love it here. It’s leafy, very British and so quiet!

But it’s also close to everything. There are some really good food options around the flat as well. Some of our favourites include the Garden Cafe on Goldhurst Terrace; Singapore Garden on Fairfax Road; and Sushi Bar Atariya, also on Fairfax Road (a top class Japanese place, it’s one of the best kept secrets in London). Being close to green spaces is equally important, and with the Heath, Regent’s Park and Primrose Hill close by, we’ve found our perfect corner of London.

How did you decide on the decor?

As first-time homeowners, we really had no idea how to go about furnishing our home, but when Deepti took on the project, her hidden talents were discovered!

Little did we know then that Deepti would be designing homes as part of our interior design service. Our style brings together traditional and comforting tones with a touch of quirk and modernity. Soho House is a great example of somewhere that inspires us.

Where do you source your furniture?

Sofas and cushions from sofa.com, rugs and throws from Heal’s and accessories from Smug at Camden Passage are some of our favourites. We’re fans of Abigail Ahern’s layering look. Many of the high street retailers with home sections are really interesting, too – we love Urban Outfitters and Oliver Bonas. The antique sofa that we refurbished – using fabrics from Thornback and Peel – was pulled out of a warehouse in Parsons Green.

Where do you head to after a hard day at work?

Back to the living room and the sofa, to keep working!

Hostmaker’s first offices were in our flat, so it reminds us of good times when the entire team could fit into our living room and we were working from the sofa.

How did the idea for Hostmaker come about?

I co-wrote a paper about Airbnb’s impact on the hotel industry and it became apparent that this was an incredibly attractive prospect for travellers tired of the mediocre offerings of three- and four-star hotels.

Homestays were becoming a true alternative in travel accommodation. As an Airbnb host myself, time and again I would be confronted with the same issues faced by our hosts and I thought that there must be a way to provide some sort of solution. I quit my job at the end of January 2014 to pursue it; and launched Hostmaker in July that year, using my own home as a testing ground!

Can you give us any tips on making our home fit for Airbnb guests?

Aside from the obvious essentials, it’s important to think about what’s going to delight your guests – and help you to get those five-star reviews! When decorating, make sure your home reflects your personality. The temptation is to go with what you know in terms of hospitality decor and get caught up in “hotelifying” your home, but it’s important to remember that people are choosing Airbnb for a reason – to feel as though they are living in a city. Creating a space that is unique and wonderful helps you to stand out among all the other listings.

REDEFINING LUXURY Godfrey London is a boutique property developer that focuses on creating luxurious homes in prime north London addresses. We sat down with managing director, Paul Godfrey, for a chat How did you get into property development?

Growing up in London, a city renowned for its variety of architectural styles and historical landmarks, it’s hard not to be inspired by your surroundings.

After completing my law studies, I joined London’s largest housebuilder, Barratt Homes, where I worked for three and a half years in land and site acquisition. During this time, I purchased a number of high profile development sites in north London, gaining the knowledge to establish my own business, and in 2012 I started to undertake my own residential projects.

What can buyers expect from a Godfrey London home?

We’re a bespoke developer, so we focus on less than half a dozen projects per year, each being an exclusive collection of homes.

Our aim is to provide purchasers with a best-in-class product, the specification and presentation of which sets a new benchmark for quality. Bespoke joinery, exacting craftsmanship and special finishes are combined with the highest quality fixtures and fittings. Kitchens are created with premium brands and we work closely with award-winning architectural practices, design houses and landscape designers.

The result is new homes that are strikingly unique, yet each is characterised by the same elegance, quality and modernity.

How do you ensure a sympathetic approach when reviving existing buildings?

We approach each project with consideration of its wider context.

In the case of existing buildings, this means retaining and restoring period detailing and architectural features wherever possible.

We’re extremely fortunate that the areas in which we operate are home to many buildings of the most exceptional architectural quality and that a number of conservation areas have been designated, locally, to preserve their charm. I firmly believe that, as a developer, it’s my responsibility to respect the character of existing buildings and to celebrate and enhance those features.

What does this year hold for the prime London market?

The market has polarised between high quality “turn-key” homes that buyers can move into immediately and secondary, poorly presented, housing stock. Because we focus on building and selling high quality, superbly dressed and presented homes, our properties continue to be in demand and are selling well.

Can you tell us about some of your current developments on the market?

We have just launched our most prestigious scheme so far, located at Netherhall Gardens, Hampstead.

This development of 14 apartments comprises a grand Victorian mansion, rich in history, which we have meticulously restored back to its residential origins. It’s joined by a complementary new pavilion building in its grounds. The apartments benefit from parking and a concierge and the interiors

are sophisticated, with kitchens by Boffi with Gaggenau appliances.

And do you have any exciting new projects coming up?

It’s a busy phase for us. We have an exclusive collection of ten spacious new-build apartments under construction in the heart of Belsize Village. Due to complete in early 2018, we’re restoring a magnificent period building on Fitzjohn’s Avenue, in which we’re reintroducing period features to the 14 apartments. Also in the pipeline is our most ambitious project so far, in terms of scale: we’ll be creating 60 new apartments with amazing views over Kilburn Grange Park. After lunch, when I have time, I treat myself to a Biotec facial at the beautiful Elemis day spa, which is practically next door. What will make your school different?

We’re designing our new school and curriculum from a blank slate, which is a big advantage. Often a head knows what direction to take a school in, but it can be difficult because of the inertia from previous years.

How would you describe the atmosphere?

As we’re starting with Years 7, 8 and 9, the school will inevitably have a close family feel. The staff will also be new to the building, so I think there’ll be a real sense of freshness, excitement and enthusiasm.

What extra-curricular activities will you offer?

We’ll continue the sports and activities that are very strong at Eaton Square Prep, including swimming and skiing.

We’ll also offer a rowing course for everyone in Year 9.

Our pupils will be able to suggest extra-curricular options, too.

How will you balance these with the academic side?

The majority of the timetabled lessons will be devoted to intense academic study. On top of this, there’ll be a measured amount of homework. But I’m keen for it not to be excessive, or to be set when it isn’t necessary.

MIND THE GAP Taking a year out between school and university can be incredibly rewarding for a young person.

“It’s character-building and motivating,” says Stefan Wathan, CEO of the Year Out Group, a network of pre-approved companies offering gap year experiences. “Young people gain selfconfidence, as well as a better sense of what they want to do in life. They can also build skills in their area of interest, such as journalism.”

1. A gap year is an investment in your child’s future. So spend time discussing what she wants to get out of the year, then look for opportunities that will let her achieve that.

3. Help your child to prepare for the experience.

Encourage her to read about her destination, learn some of the language and brush up on basic first aid and water safety.

4. Talk to her about personal wellbeing.

Explain that she shouldn’t do something overseas she wouldn’t do at home. Discuss how drinking to excess can make her more vulnerable to robbery, assault or making bad choices. And make sure she has the number for the British Embassy, her insurance company and emergency contacts in her phone, as well as in a notebook.
