How to Cultivate, Maintain and Restore Your Family Relationships “And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.” Nehemiah 4:14 I think you’ll agree with me that we need to fight for the well-being of our family. As the verse above states: “fight for your sons and your daughter, your wives and your houses.” It is no secret that the currents of this world are taking many of our children to destruction. This month our goal is to strengthen our family relationships. These include marriage, parental and sibling bonds that must be cultivated and if necessary, restored. PREACHING SERIES Sunday, February 2, 2014: Family - God’s Idea (Setting the Foundation) This message will establish that the family was God’s idea from the beginning. It will show that family is and has always been God’s building block. Even a couple without any children is a family. We must also address the value of single parents, widows and all shapes and sizes of families as define in scripture. Sunday, February 9, 2014: Mi Memo no Fuma (How dare you, not my little boy...!) I still remember my Dad putting his arm around me, looking down lovingly at me and shaking his head as he said: “Those parents should take better care of their children.” (Story to be continued) This message will deal with blind spots parent have when it comes to their children’s sins. Sunday, February 16, 2014: Staying on Course through Seasons of Adversity (Oh no! Don’t tell me…) All families experience set-backs, dysfunction, pain and shame. This message will give practical steps on how to maintain relational balance in a busy world with a thousand demands. It will share biblical principles on how to recover from set-backs, and how to move forward in the midst of challenges that make us scream, pain that makes us weep, and disappointments that make us even consider giving up!

Husband? Wife? just does not listen. What is a parent (or a grown child) to do? How does a family deal with someone who just won’t listen. These four proven practical steps will bring relief and provide results to those dealing with rebellion.
