SPIRITUAL RETREAT REMNANT HARVEST SUNDAY

PASTOR’S THOUGHTS

APOSTOLIC ASSEMBLY EVENTS

SENIOR PASTOR SAM VALVERDE d

“While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God.” Acts 10:44-46

On the 4th of July, we will celebrate the 239th birthday of the United States of America. Our country was founded on the principle that people have freedom to worship God. Over time, much has changed, but we who know the Lord Jesus Christ, know that we are free indeed. Much of this spiritual freedom is bestowed to us when we receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Let us celebrate our 4th with fireworks and bar-b-ques, but let us never forget that we were created to worship the Lord all year long. I’m happy to report that our church will continue to give emphasis on prayer and on the necessity to receive this baptism (Acts 2:38; Acts 8:16; Acts 10:44-46; Acts 19:05, among others) Below is an invitation from our Life Group Coordinator to all who seek more of God’s presence. Blessings,

Pastor Sam Valverde Have You Received the Holy Ghost, Since You Believed? By Wendell Wright All Praises be to the King of Kings, for the Lord Our God, He is wonderful! Greetings again from the Life Group Department. We are excited to announce the beginning of a new Life Group. There is uniqueness about this group that will create an expectation of the Spirit of God. Do you know anyone that is seeking to be filled with the Holy Spirit? This can be a frustrating endeavor, if not properly understood. FTC is inviting you to experience the Holy Spirit. We have a class that is now available to assist saints in learning more about receiving the Holy Ghost. This class is all about the Holy Spirit. It will answer questions like: What is the Holy Ghost? Why do I need it? Who can have it? How do I receive it? In what way will I know that I am filled with the Holy Spirit?

PASTOR’S THOUGHTS

I remember when I was seeking to be saved. There were a lot of questions that I did not have the answers to, and I was somewhat disheartened. My question was: what do I need to do to receive the Holy Ghost? I gave up my worldly music, my ungodly relationships, and I even joined the church choir, but still months later I had not received the Holy Ghost. What was wrong with me? It seemed like other people received it and I did not. I grew discouraged, but I wanted to be saved. I understood that the Holy Spirit is a gift, and that I could not do anything to earn it. What I needed to understand was how I could receive it. I kept going to church, seeking the Lord, and reading the Word of God. The Word gave me the ability to fully repent. I thought I had repented, but being honest, I first came to the Lord because I did not want to go to hell. I eventually realized that being scared of God was not repentance and that I had to fully repent and surrender to God in order to be filled with His Holy Spirit. After continuing to hear the preached and taught Word of God, which built faith in me; I learned that the Bible says, that out of your belly will flow rivers of Living Water. The Holy Ghost will flow to you, and then through you. This was exciting to me! And I soon had the awesome experience of being filled with the Holy Ghost! When one receives the Holy Ghost he or she might not jump and run, or they might jump and run; but we must speak in other tongues as the Spirit of God gives us the utterance. What is more important in the church than souls receiving the Holy Ghost, after they have repented and been baptized in the name of Jesus Christ? There is nothing more important, than souls being born of the water and BEING BORN OF THE SPIRIT. Jesus said YOU MUST be BORN AGAIN. Saints, let each of us be about our Fathers business. You can help in this ministry. We need people that will pray for those who are seeking to be filled with God’s Spirit. We need for everyone to come to church excited about our Lord, Jesus Christ. Come expecting a mighty move of God every time you come to church or gather in a Life Group. We are asking for the Lord to open up the sky, and to fall down like rain on us. Lord revive us again, in the name of Jesus Christ. This Life Group will have its first meeting on Thursday, July 2nd, at 7:00pm, in Fontana, at the home of Elder Ben and Sis Liz Medina. The class will meet weekly at this location. Also, once a month, on Sunday mornings, starting July 5th at 8:30am, we will have tarrying sessions for anyone that would like to tarry to receive the Holy Spirit. This is the start of something great - souls being born into the kingdom of God! Revival is in the air. If you have any questions feel free to contact me at wendell4me@aol. com or (951) 237-3168.
