PASTOR’S THOUGHTS SENIOR PASTOR SAM VALVERDE
WORSHIP+ d
“Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker...” Psalms 95:6 If you haven’t noticed yet, please note the plus (+) sign after each theme this year. The January preaching series revolved around Increase+, or giving more of ourselves. This month we will focus our attention on Worship+. However, let us apply the well-worn adage “work smarter, not harder.” Anything+ this year does not mean that we have to apply more time and pressure; rather the opposite is true. Giving+, worship+ and anything+ means that we look to and depend on the giver of life and strength; we look to the one who gives us the “to do” and the “to will.” That means our Lord gives us the power and the will to do more, according to his measure and not ours. This month we will focus on worship. What does that mean? A quick look at the Hebrew and Greek definitions render: to kneel, to bend the knee and to kiss the hand or lick the hand as a dog licks his masters hand. Is worship something we do within the walls of the church building, or is it a life-style. What is the difference between praise and worship? A long time ago I heard someone define worship as “to be God-conscience.” We will use various bible stories from both testaments in order to enrich our worship concept and practice. Psalms 95 (verse 6 is quoted above) begins giving us some elements of worship: Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song The Psalms ends with the word “rest” which is gives insight about one of the by-products of worship.
It is an honor to be able serve as the new Directors for SWAG Next Generation Juniors 2015. Our goal is to continue to provide biblical principles that shape our juniors into great men and women that serve and fear the Lord in their walk with Christ. In addition, our goal is to develop encouraging programs that foster positive character and build faith in their lives. We continue to believe that God has his blessings over this ministry. This vision can only be met by your prayers and support. God Bless you and thank you for your prayers. Bro. Elias & Sis. Lourdes Escamilla Elias and Isaiah Escamilla, sons

PASTOR’S THOUGHTS
PREACHING SERIES Sunday, February 1, 2015 - Open topic. Celebration Pastor will be speaking at the 10am service. Let us pray for Pastor Tim as he is now leading celebration in all three services. Sunday, February 8, 2015 - “Worship?” This message will answer the interrogatives about worship. What is worship? Why should we worship? When, where and how should we worship? These questions will be answered within the context of Pentecostalism and the apostolic Holy Ghost experience. Sunday, February 15, 2015 - “When Worship Hurts” “The lad and I will go up and worship...” Worship is more than just a “feel good” experience. There are times our worship will take place far from the church building and the good music. A believer’s maturing depends on how he or she worships when it hurts. February 22, 2015 - “A Distinction in the Sounds...” In his correction to the Corinthian church, Paul expressed a great truth about the sounds of pipes and trumpets. This concept will take us to an Old Testament story where three Hebrew men, young men mighty in spirit, knew how to make a distinction in the sounds. PATHWAY TO VISION Please keep our team in prayer as we navigate through the exciting process of discovering God’s unique vision for FTC. Please keep in mind that we are not forming, making, writing or in any other way putting forth our vision. We are prayerfully seeking God’s guidance so that we can discover what He wants us to declare as His vision for us at this time. Why did he place us here in North Fontana at this time in history and why did he surround us with the gifts, needs and challenges that surround us. We will report back to you in the next ADVANCE Lastly, I would like to encourage all marriages to seek God together in order to develop dynamic marriages that will, like the wedding in Cana (John 2), will have color, taste, and fragrance and most importantly glorify God. Blessings,
Pastor Sam Valverde
FROM THE 1ST LADY OF FTC
Happy February Fountain of Truth! I hope 2015 has been a prosperous new year thus far! I am thankful for another year to give the Lord my best. The preaching in January have been inspiring me to go deeper in the Lord and for that reason ... PRAY WITHOUT CEASING ...IN FEBRUARY! In I Thessalonians 5:17, we are given final admonitions for living a holy life by reminding us of the importance of praying continually. Early mornings are not easy for me but in my quest to go deeper I am inviting all the women to pray Tuesdays and Thursdays for the month of February from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. We will be meeting in the prayer room. Let’s pray together, let’s cry together but more importantly, let’s hope together. See you there. Don’t forget Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:00am. HONDURAS HERE WE COME! Lord willing I will be going back to Honduras in July. We are in the process of establishing a school at La Esperanza Orphanage so we are looking for strong, adventurous Christians who would like a life-changing experience to contact www.christianbrigades.com and reserve a spot. They are going fast! GUATEMALANS CAN YOU HEAR ME! Great things are going to happen to Guatemala this year and FTC is part of it! If you are of Guatemalan descent and would like an opportunity to help your country, we will be meeting on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at 3pm in room 210. Please let us know you are coming by contacting Lilian Macdonald at lilidmac@yahoo.com or Scarlett Macdonald at macdonaldscarlett@me.com ASAP! Don’t miss out on being a part of your birth nation. Lastly, reach out to your special someone this month and be a blessing to his or her life. Be kinder and gentler :) . God bless,
Raquel Valverde
