A Place for Real Transformation
Last month we were challenged to instill Biblical principles in our young men during the preaching series Boys and Girls by Senior Pastor Sam Valverde. FTC has accepted the challenge to make a difference by promoting this unique, Military-style camp for boys ages 12-17. Our young men will be encouraged to be leaders while learning practical skills and discipline. This is guaranteed to be a fun, life-changing, unforgettable, spiritual experience! This will be held at FTC. Special Camp Director: Sergeant Aniceto Hernandez, a retired Marine
Corps Gunnery Sergeant with an Apostolic Background. During his 20 years, he served as a Marine Drill Instructor. During 9/11 the Lord used him in Afghanistan and Pakistan. While in Pakistan he baptized two marines. He operates this type of camp throughout the summer at his local ministry located in Bakersfield, CA. Sergeant Hernandez also has a B.A. in Liberal Studies and candidate for M.A. in Education.
SCHEDULE Tuesday-Wednesday: 8:30am-4:30pm Thursday: 8:30am-4:30pm, Barbeque, and sleep over. Friday: Dismissal by 9:30am For details and pictures on this camp, please visit: www.campvalor.org For information regarding FTC Camp Valor, please contact Phil Raya or call the church office.

CHURCH: WHERE IS OUR SENSE OF URGENCY? “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.” John 9:4 Like a concerned farmer racing to finish his tasks before a setting sun, Jesus expressed a real sense of urgency in the above verse. He was about to heal a blind man as part of the works that needed to be done, and there was not much time left. “While it is day” was his window of time in which his tasks needed to be completed, “for the night cometh when no man can work.” Jesus understood the concept of seasons, of night and day, something the church may have forgotten. There are a day and a night; a time when one can work and a time when no man can work. Where is our sense of urgency? Do the days and weeks go by one after another as we continue in our routines without a sense of exigency? First of all, am I “working” in his Kingdom? Am I making a difference in someone’s transformation? I think many can answer yes to that question, but let us not forget the night is coming. What is “the night”? This month I will be sharing some prophetic messages that will revolve around biblical end-time concepts. In the 70’s great emphasis was placed on end-ofthe-world themes. Sometimes they would scare us to death. In later decades the prophetic messages some to fade out. However, God’s truths are always relevant. One of the reasons the church may have lost its urgency is because we ourselves may have forgotten that the Lord is coming back and that His plan will unfold. This month I will share four important end-time message that will enhance our knowledge on eschatology and my revive our sense of urgency for Kingdom work, while it is still day. Is Christ’s coming really near? Is he really coming back? What happened to all the talk about the anti-Christ, the beast, 666 and the Great Tribulation? Is that stuff really true. Is there really going to be a rapture? What’s with all those horses? Is all that Revelation stuff relevant today? Don’t scare me like that...
