IN MAY, WE PRAY!

A
lmost every May I call the church to a month of prayer. It may have started a long time ago simply because May rhymes with pray. Whatever the initial reason, again in 2012 - in May we pray. However, this year I’m adding some spice: IN MAY, PRAY AN HOUR A DAY! I invite FTC to take this call seriously. Reasons to pray abound -forgiveness, power, purpose, family, intercession, guidance and a thousand others. Prayer draws us close to God, prayer purifies, prayer empowers - well, prayer works. It changes attitudes, it launches ministries, it opens LG’s and it points us Godward. I’m inviting the ordained ministers and deacons to log into the prayer room at least three times a week this month. I’m inviting both English and Spanish Cores to dedicate plenty of time for prayer. Deacons and CLG leaders, find time to report to the prayer room which, incidentally is open 24 hours. Musicians, singers, technicians and all platform personnel, it is time to pray. All members, let’s make an effort to pray either at home or at the prayer room and let’s make the greatest effort to be at the altar every Sunday at 9:40am. Let’s see what happens, let’s prove God in this area and experience a liberty and liberation that can occur only through prayer. ...CONTINUED ON NEXT PAGE

On May 6th, 2012 we will be launching our next Evangelism Cycle (EC). If you recall, the EC is a 5 week cycle that asks every FTC member to pray for 5 people: Plow, Plant, Water, Fertilize and Harvest. This ends with the Sunday Friends Day celebration. If we all make the effort together, we can have from 300 to 500 hundred visitors on Sunday the 3rd of June! Jesus said to his disciples: “What, could you not watch with me one hour?” (Matthew 26:40b) Let’s take his rebuke seriously and make all efforts to pray an hour day, in the month of May.
